I ran across this article which in the end makes it seem inevitable that we will all be one soon. Its kind of interesting to see this from this source. I wonder what they're up to?

It will always be a mix of both.
Airlines have been using English as the language of communication for decades.
A Russian plane approaching an airport in Japan...
the pilot communicates with the tower in English.
How else would international air travel work?
Pop and Rock music have contributed, too. The growth of English as a world language was a matter of popular choice.
India alone has over 1000 languages. Not to mention dialects.

Humanity has two forces moving through it:
that of individualization and that of unification.
Both must be kept in balance.

Despite what people think of British colonialism, at least it made it possible for people of the same culture to communicate with each other.

Strange, but your link is a "redirect" to a generic page. So I can't read it either (or maybe they killed the article?)

Bizarre. Perhaps it is only for consumption in the U.S.? I just clicked on it here and it is still up. Thank you Red Hat for posting the .pdf.

Let's do an experiment. Below is the printed URL to the article. Try and cut and paste it into your browser and see if it works. I just clicked on my own link above and it worked fine. Someone get back to me and let me know what happens. LINK BELOW

I can't access it via the link due to my location, but I could acces it via the link in my last comment via a proxy.

Bizarre

You wouldn't believe how many of the posted vids on here are blocked in Germoney.
It's a bit like China. Proxy use is my 'daily bread', unfortunately. [This article is fine though.]

This is the last sentence of the last paragraph. Notice the word "cooperation". Says it all for me.

"" It might be surprising, but our genes, in the form of our capacity for culture, have created in us a machine capable of greater cooperation, inventiveness and common good than any other on Earth. And of course it means you can always find a cappuccino just the way you like it no matter where we wake up. ""

Wow. All of this makes me wonder what I can't see from other countries as well. I had no idea things like this went on. I mean this is the BBC and you can't view it in Britain or Scotland, Ireland etc? They are simply turning the internet in the next media that the use to exploit us.
