This presentation was made Dec 2010. I am not trying to flog the dead "privacy" horse or initiate an inflamed or despondent discussion. This is a good presentation and offers some solutions. If I can find a more recent talk I'll post it.

The real problem actually isn't privacy, its information asymmetry. It's when corporations can know more about you than you can about them, government too. It's when your private lives can and will be allowed to be rifled through ad nauseum by government and big business executives while you are not allowed to do the same to the lives of the powerful. This enables the powerful to hide their mistakes and then exploit the weaknesses of everyone else using that same information asymmetry to release anything damaging to someone who challenges their hegemony while keeping all of their cards close to their chest.

Almost all of the technology that we use today was given to us by the Greys. Technology can never supplement the power of the human emotional body - this is actually why the Greys traded their technology with us - they needed to make use of the human emotional body in order to ensure their journey into the next dimensional paradigm by creating a hybrid race of themselves and us.

I cannot deny the usefulness of technology though. As with anything, it is possible to have a healthy or unhealthy relationship with it.
