In this HMI continuum image we can see a tiny active region sitting isolated in the middle of the Sun. If it fades we will have a spotless Sun. The AR doesn't even have a number yet! But as the northern hemisphere fades from maximum, the southern hemisphere has still not reached solar maximum. If you look at an AIA 193 image you can clearly see the polar coronal hole is still open. We are still hopin' for some more fireworks from Solar Cycle 24. https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6369594138980582994-3830839106810443398?l=sdoisgo.blogspot.com

Give the Sun a break :) Everybody needs to take a nap from time to time. When She wake up the spots will return :) We can expect to experience lower temperatures despite the fact the summer has begun in northern hemisphere. In sourthern may be even more chilling weather :( Hang on everybody!

Have made an interesting observation relating to sunspot number. When it is high it gets warmer outside. When it is low it gets colder. The change in temperature lags 2-3 days behind change in sunspot number. Time of the year and geographical latitude needs to be taken into account as well.

[edit]
The area of the Sun where spots are located radiates more light in the infrared range (ie. heat). So more sunspots equals more heat radiating from the Sun. Sunspots need to be in the part of the Sun facing directly the Earth for this to make significant impact on Earth weather. Light (and heat radiation too) needs aproximately 8 minutes to reach Earth.

we've been watching the energy waves for a while, it doesn't just get warmer, it adds energy to storms and the plates our world is build on causing quakes...

according to Nasa, the dark energy waves are from our field, so if they originate from here, is it a signal there are about to be quakes?

or are the quakes and sunspot energy, emanating from outside and all these activities are related...

so many questions...
