Initially posted as a comment on Agenda 21: How Globalist Domination Happens on a Local Level (http://fromthetrenchesworldreport.com/agenda-21-how-globalist-domination-happens-on-a-local-level/17379/#comment-45009), I decided to create a thread out of it.
Living in Europe, most of this sustainable development rethoric is not new to me. It started from the beginning of the 90's and found its way in media, education, ... I was brought up with it and it didn't sound like something to question in its core assesments.
Having been awakened some years ago, I started looking for solutions outside. Two years ago I got in contact with the transition movement and went to one of their meetings in my hometown. It appealed to me because of its message of wanting to build a better world, connecting with each other, disconnecting partly from centralized political and economical power structures by independant 'sustainable' farming/action, because of their grassroots approach, etc...
This movement sounded wonderful to a certain extent, but I had my doubts...
Why? Because of its 2 premises: Transition is necessary due to the reality of 'global warming' and 'peak oil'. At that time I didn't know much about the validity of 'peak oil' (I do think there are much better existing energy resources and a whole range of unexplored models of free energy to focus on making oil obsolete, 'peak oil' only an issue in an old paradigm world), but I do know 'global warming' is major BS. When I tried to communicate this gently (it was the time of climate gate 1), I was blocked off and got some hostile reactions.
Most of their message sounded allright, but their premises were dogmatic and the thought of entering a cultlike movement swept through my head.
Later I got to know about Agenda 21 and how a nation could be 'brainwashed' by using subversion techniques on a whole generation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeMZGGQ0ERk).
An 'ahaaa'-moment occured.
How come when you talk and provide arguments about the theoretical possibility of free energy and provide evidence of small scale models already running, these otherwise wonderful people get a blank stare or turn almost hostile. Some of them who do acknowledge this possibility react in a horse slain way that we can't change anything about that, that the '(economic) powers that want to be - (e)ptw' won't allow this. If that's the case, why are they in a movement that seems to be a threat to the tpw. What do they hope to achieve then?

Maybe they're helping without realizing they are being used and are unable to see it (mind control has kicked in deeply). They perpetuate the washing of brains believing that they are doing something positive (which is partly true) and everybody who thinks differently is a nuissance, against the cause, in the long run a threat.
Imagine these communities existing in 10 to 20 years from now, getting international political UN support (though it all seems done locally). Everything seems wonderful as long as you comply and don't ask fundamental questions. Individuals who might have another opinion are being warned of their 'unsustainable thoughts or actions' and should be dealt with. Yikes, this looks a bit like those nightmare dystopian 70's sci-fi movies.
I hope to see a movement with people thinking for themselves, being able to accept the whole picture (if that's possible at all)... or at least the bigger picture, finding a deeper (spiritual) personal and mutual connection, free from induced mind & body fear, without denying the sometimes frightening 'bigger truth'. Then the stories of being a catholic, a kundalini hippie, a constitutionalist, a democrat, a businessman, ... will eventually take second place (maybe even disappear) to being 'a connected human'.
Division/categorization is a tool necessary to find our way in this world, to have an identity to play with on this 3-D playground called 'earth', but we are in a situation were we have become that tool (we've identified with it)... which results into us being deconnected from ourselves & others and being manipulated tools for the ptw.
So I say: No more mindset of division, no more ptw dividing & conquering our minds and hearts!
In about a week from now I'll take my backpack and leave 'to be this movement', 'to meet with this movement', to move...
I don't know what will happen, who I'll meet, what I'll encounter in and outside myself, but the movement in itself allows me to play with thoughts, theories, identity constructions, ...
... from movement to movement!
