a few days back we had some strange fast moving storms that hit us here in Pennsylvania. lots of wind bursts that took down trees along with the lightening....... it was kind of scary. it is getting ready to rain here now as well. hoping that the lightening and thunder stay soft, it scares my pets into frenzies.

Awesome News. Wanishi for sharing with us.
Several years ago here in NY we had the same type of dry weather. I made this video to consciously bring the rain to the much needed areas on this great planet. Enjoy summer rain lovers.

Maybe you should move to England. It has been raining everyday for the last 3-4 months non stop. Rain is good , but this is too much. Something ain't right.
I should be a weatherman. I predict that it will rain tomorrow and the day after, the day after that to. and the following week. months. then it will snow. exactly a day after , the sun will shine for a few hours.
Then it will rain again. Maybe it's time to pack and head back to Mauritius? Or I should wait till the earth tilt and make up my mind where it's best to live?

Its all relative its depressing and ruined the summer....But at least we have water
A few months ago several regions had declared hosepipe bans and draught warnings.
The long range weather forcasters did not predict all this rain as they were warning
it might take a couple years of normal rainfall to refill the reservoirs especially in
the southeast where the majority of the population are.
Its amazing how fragile the ecosystem is especially if you are lacking rain as in
your case or the extreme heat in the States ....

Rainfall records runneth over
July 14, 2012

RAIN gauges across Queensland are brimming as the state edges towards a record wet.
Weather stations throughout Queensland have recorded above-average rainfall from January to June and the rain hasn't let up yet.
Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast are challenging annual rainfall records held for 38 years.
The record was set with the epic wet of 1974 when 2203.7mm to 3001.2mm was dumped on centres throughout the southeast, the highest figures recorded since monitoring began in 1881.
The record was helped along by flood-producing downpours in January 1974.
The steady falls this year have already seen the Sunshine Coast cop 1859.6mm of rain between January and June, 62 per cent of their highest recorded figure.
The north of the state is aiming to break the annual rainfall record set in 2000 when 3148.8mm fell in Cairns.
More than half of that rain has already fallen in Cairns, and Townsville is near the halfway point of their record figure of 2399.8mm.
Dr Karl Braganza, climate monitoring manager at the National Climate Centre, said "the rainfalls are setting up to have a crack" at the state records.

PS - I asked Ringer & he said in a couple more weeks 'Earth Angel', the 'Drought' will be well & truly broken and you'll be fine...:yes4:

I live in south UK, The rain we have had here has caused a few problems.
Last time it rained like this we had an outbreak of foot and mouth, and our hose pipe ban was only lifted a while ago.
In Weymouth town centre it flooded out some major areas and a lot of homes.
But at least the car is clean.;)

Yep - we need rain in Michigan too! I knew it was going to be a dry summer because we didn't get much snow this winter, but this is just crazy.
Our English friends shouldn't worry too much about the rain because for the Olympics in London - because all of a sudden, like a miracle, it will be sunny and beautiful. And of course TPTB will be there to say how wonderful the weather is and how it couldn't be better.....Just a prediction. Weather Manipulation....who'd benefit if the crops in America were scarce/not growing/destroyed? Who benefits if it rained for months on end?
Some days, I really don't like that I've become this skeptical/cynical about the world around me.

All this wet weather in the UK and Ireland has never been as wet in my memory. I hope you get some rain in the US soon. I'm going to have a closer look at the google map that shows what places stay above water after flooding. If I'm not mistaken Ecuador stays above water.

I experienced that storm as well. I was sitting at my kitchen table with band mates after practice. We were hit with thunder and lightning, stronger winds, but then felt this rumble go thru the house that lasted about 6-7 seconds, my mates said 10 seconds. It felt like an earthquake, but it must have been the thunder... Strangest storm of our lives.

Hours and hours of continuous thunder and lightning yesterday through last night. And, stillness created an eery realm, broken by the huge crackles of light. It was a humongous Tesla coil of an energy show, captivating and frightening to be observing in my car! (Northwest U.S., South Puget Sound area.)

The last two weeks of my holidays here have been HOT and dry. As nice as that is, it has been said by the weather network that rain is coming....and all we got today out of a storm that blew over is about 15 minutes of light rain....grrrr....with an outdoor fire ban in effect, we really need MORE rain here in northeastern Canada. The bush is very dry right now.

well so far today Sunday in Southern Ontario, we have had three super heavy downpours but very short.......never thought Id be sitting here wishing for rain......it seems talking to friends and family from Australia, Canada , the US and Europe........the deal is either hot as hell and dry or non stop rain and cold......why can't we spread this heat and rain about and we'd alllll be so much happier, comfortable and our food prices would not go through the roof in the coming weeks!
