A number of schools are denying access to the potentially lifesaving vaccine for cervical cancer because they claim it goes against their religion. According to research by GP Magazine, 24 schools in 83 of the 152 Primary Care Trusts in England have opted out of the vaccination programme.

The schools that have refused the vaccine have claimed it goes against their ‘strict Christian principles’ because they disapprove of sex outside marriage. Most have also failed to inform local GPs who could offer the jab instead.

The vaccine, Cervarix, has been available in the UK since 2008. It protects girls against the HPV virus, which is thought to cause cervical cancer. More than 80 per cent of eligible teens in the UK since 2010 have received the vaccine.

The reasons schools gave for turning down the programme included "not in keeping with the school ethos", "pupils follow strict Christian principles, marry within their own community and do not practise sex outside marriage" and "the school does not want parents/students to feel pressured by peers or the school setting".

A school in London also recently revealed that it was cancelling the programme as it upset the girls so much it disrupted school lessons.

The Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) has voiced its concerns that GPs are not being kept in the loop with vaccination programmes and take up rates and that this could put girls at risk in the future.
"GPs need to know of completion of vaccination courses,” explained Dr George Kassianos, immunisation lead at the RCGP.

"None of our immunisations are compulsory. We therefore must accept that some children or adults will not be vaccinated. It is hard to understand how immunisation against cancer can be rejected but that is how it is out there in the community."

Dr Richard Vautrey from the British medical Association added, “This is placing their children at risk in later life and should be challenged.”

A fantastic young girl who works in a local tea shop at weekends has been suffering from terrible ill health for over 2 years now. She's had every test under the sun, and has been given just about every diagnosis you can think of that matched her symptoms only to have the results come back negative....she's even been prescribed morphine to manage the agonising abdominal pain she gets.

And now, guess what? Turns out 3 years ago she had the first of a course of 3 HPV vacinations...she's been told she is most likely unable to have children, and will probably suffer pain for the rest of her life. Her family is looking into suing the drug company.

It makes you so mad.

IN a world first, Australian schoolboys will receive the Gardasil vaccine free from next year.

Federal Health Minister Tanya Plibersek's announcement yesterday comes five years after it was first funded for girls.

She said about 870,000 boys would receive Gardasil over the next four years under the national immunisation program, costing about $21 million.

The vaccine, which protects against four strains of the human papilloma virus, will be funded for 12 and 13-year-old boys, but Year 9 students will also be included in a two-year catch-up program.

PS - I am no Doctor and don't mean to come across as niave, BUT I thought the Gardasil Vaccine was created especially for young girls to prevent/protect against the human papilloma virus. So would'nt that render the vaccine totally useless on Boys...:confused:


Currently, there is no HPV test recommended for men. The only approved HPV tests on the market are for screening women for cervical cancer.

The reality is, that vaccines LOWER your immunity. People who SURVIVE the vaccine in all likelihood would have survived contracting the virus in any event. A few years ago, before all of the Gardasil side effects were made public, my daughter just about begged me to get this vaccination. They were actually talking about it in school and made it sound to these pre-teens that if you don't get the vaccine, you will get cervical cancer. All of her friends got it, but I put my foot down and said no. The risk of getting HPV *AND* getting cervical cancer from the HPV seem so much less unlikely than the risks possible from this (at that time) vaccine. I am so grateful that she didn't get the shot.

I'm not a crazy non-vaccine mom. She's had all her other required shots. Just this one didn't sit right with me. Same with the chicken pox vaccine.

It's a shame isn't it, when you think of all the people who have 'chosen' the permanent 'nap' instead of choosing life and knowledge. And how ironic ...opting for a needle which will increase their odds of having to make that decision. But that is the reality, and people will have to 'choose' to understand that ...or believe a TV commercial. And I can imagine how 'difficult' that must be for youngsters in some parts of the world. But that is what parents are for, (before they all absconded their responsibility to the state.)

Another aspect, the fact that many are opting against the vaccine is a sign that they are waking up. The fact that they feel they have to 'hide behind' a religious position shows they are on the right track but still not completely aware of the legal game being played. The point here is not a decision to terminate a pregnancy but what the Court said in regard of Freedom of Conscience; "the conscience of the individual must be paramount to that of the state"

I'm not a crazy non-vaccine mom. She's had all her other required shots. Just this one didn't sit right with me. Same with the chicken pox vaccine.You should start your children on an extensive detox program. Almost ALL vaccines are detrimental to long term health. It's not just the bad science, it's the INTENTION behind the push for more. God doesn't even know what's in the vaccines. Only the worthless bastards who cook them up know and they ain't telling.
