NYPD Patrol Officers cannot go on strike. Re: The Taylor Law. They can slow down on arrests and summonses. We have done this many times. But they cant go on strike. I know this for a fact and experience. I've Been Retired Since 1997. Dont shoot the messenger.

PS Mike Bloomberg is a Zion Assclown.

If they come for my Mossberg 590 A1, I'm resisting as best I can before I go meet the big guy up in the sky. ;)

I'll show George Bush exactly what that "goddammed piece of paper" that he calls the Constitution actually means.

I garentee you if the cops do go on strike, there will be more protests going on and not for the cops to get back on the BEAT, But to be able to protest without fear (0f being arrested) of doing a protest..
There would be more ppl on the street the one could count.

They NYPD.,.tried to go on strike before in the 70s I believe. And Cops lost their jobs and some cops were in fact arrested. Thats why we have slowdowns instead, besides its way more effective. Hurts Bloombergs budget plans. Big revenue brought in by summonses and arrests. The Fed gives X amount of dirty corrupt dollars for arrests. No summonses no arrests...no money. And that Zion P.O.S. loves his money.

Personnaly i don't like guns anymore. But it is just me :) If you have read "Freakonomics" there is a comparison of death rates of children from drowning in a backyard swimming pool and from accidental gunshot. It is hundred times more probable to drown...

Bit of a crazy statement.
If the cops went on strike, you'd have chaos with crime most likely, people would need guns to defend themselves from the armed robbers and gangs running around, without martial law anyway

I'm sure there must be ways to reduce gun crime, but taking away everyone's guns in such short time won't ever work. Its the minority ruining it for the majority, irresponsible (or illegitimate) owners causing the problems for the responsible owners.

how about all the police, Cia, NSA, Military, security guards etc all turn in their guns first, then we will consider thinking about what to do with ours. I mean show me mr bloomberger king, you are sincere ...dumb a$$ bilionaire thinks killing will stop if citizens have no firearms. A knife will kill quicker than a gun, check it out a person with a knife within 10 steps or so to a person with a handgun , the knife statistically wins, that's why the police are trained to say halt and if the person with the knife gets to a certain point it's game over.

Cops on strike? Well then, the gangs will gleefully fill the void and assert themselves as the rulers. Power comes from the barrel of a gun and gangs don't mind exercising power. Somalia is a good example and we shouldn't be so arrogant to think we're better. Bloomberg needs to shut up and back out of politics.

The unarmed man shot by Mayor Bloomberg's bodyguard in a fight over a woman says he was threatened at gunpoint by the elite officer before and cops took no action.
Now he's planning to sue the city for $5 million.

LePaul Gammons said it was Valentine's Day 2007 when Detective Leopold McLean drew a handgun while off duty and told him "he didn't have a problem with shooting me."
Gammons called 911 to report the threat and ended up arrested himself for harassing ex-girlfriend Assia Winfield, a beautiful aerobics instructor who was dating McLean.

Thank you. You first, then we can talk. Even the people in this country who are still asleep isn't going to go for turning in their weapons. I'm from the south and I can tell you right now; there is no way the south along with the midwest, are giving up their guns. I'm black and we are not about to give up any guns either. We have have been in slavery already, and it's not happening again. Period. They can try it if they like...we will just be in a civil war.

These are the same elites that bust the unions, then cry strike on the protection of citizens?

WOW! Does he say to the people who are shot by cops to not come out of their homes, so they have nothing to do, but puff up their chest and take steroids, which is proven to give agressive behaviors in wrestlers, police and atheletes?

OUT of touch, and facist.

He exposes himself everytime he opens his mouth, well at least in my eyes. Everyone knows the police can't go on strike. Why would he even say something like this.... unless he really does think he owns the city. I don't know how the people let this guy illegally put himself back in office. Everyday it's becoming clear that the people need to wake up, band together, formulate some ideas and take back their power. If not...the whining of grown babies and the blatant injustices will not stop.

What a good idea !
But let's do it good and let's do it for all !

We reverse it ... let us all go on strike until also law enforcement has no guns and all weapon industry is prohibited.
I think that would make a difference :p

To real Americans with any semblence of balls, independence and self proficiency, that is not a worry atal, we can take care of our selves. If that happened and armed thugs or groups of thugs were roaming our neighborhood breaking and entering, robbing, etc, I am sure they would meet an untimely demise. If the word got out that all law enforcement ceased to exist and thugs were taking over, many I am sure would be happy for the chance to get rid of some of this human garbage from off th face of the earth.

The sad thing is that there is probably thousands of sleeping zombie like people jumping up and down with joy in support of such an idiotic idea.

The same sleeping people who supported Bloomberg's mandate outlawing "big-gulp (32oz) soda drinks".....the same people who are too asleep to realize it's still legal to buy two 16oz soda drinks.

I don't think it's so much the flouride in the water or any other thing making many people so simple minded and downright ignorant, I truly believe it's nothing more than most people having absolutely no common sense what so ever!

I agree SilentFeathers! I have always noticed that while many that seem to be on the ball people are dumb asses and have no common sense. And most people are followers, just sheep that believe anything that they are told by the government or some celebrity and just follow. Just sheep!

my Greatuncle was a Chief of Detectives in the Brooklyn PD back in the '30s-'40s -- &, being one who sometimes used to like getting really drunk & then driving real fast in my car -- i have met many Officers of the Peace w/ me being on the wrong side of the law [& common-sense]

there are many good & honorable men & women on state & local levels of our police dep'ts -- on the local level, having moved around a lot, i've learned it's a good idea to check out the rep of the local police dep't before settling there

cops see the worst of human beings on a daily basis [sometimes the best, too] -- some are corrupt, some abuse their power -- but quite a few continue to try to serve & protect

a lot of folks i know who have armed themselves are doing so in the spirit of , Better to burn out & not fade away! aka I'll go down fighting

Hello Wynderer,
Yes, I can relate. I am a retired Correctional Officer from the Alabama Dept of Corrections and you are quite right; I have seen some piece of crap officers but most were doing their job and ok people. I would like to say that in all those years of dealing with inmates/convicts while naturally I dealt with rapists, murders, necromaniacs, burgerls, etc., many were really great guys it seemed. I knew some inmates that were better men that some officers I have known, just made a mistake, etc.

What is sad, is that many are in there for murder that did nothing but protect themselves and family from assault, home invasion, etc. and were convicted before the laws changed. They were convicted back when our law was such (I live in Alabama) that there was no self defense clause. It was either Justifiable Homicide or not and was really up to the judge for final decision. During those years you were expected to run and leave yoru home, etc, if at all possible. For example I knew a convict that was in for murder or manslaughter. He was washing his dishes with his door propped open and just the screen door latched. His neighbor came over drunk with a butcher knife, mad because he thought this guy had been banging his wife, cut through the screen door and ran at him and attacked him. So he with soap on his hands fought and wrastled all over the kitch with this guy who was trying to murder him. He finally got his little pistol out of his back pocket and shot and killed the invader. The judge asked him if he had a back door and when he said yes the judge said "Well then you had an avenue of escape and you chose to stay and fight and kill!" and convicted the guy of murder. That must have been one of these liberal judges that lean more towards the criminals than victoms.

But a few short years ago due to a marked increase in home invasions, murders, car jackings, assaults and murders in mall parking lots, etc, etc, (I live near Montgomery, Al) the governor before the one we have now passed a new law and now you can used deadly force in protection of self, family, or anyone that is being attacked whether attack is at home, in your car, or on the street. Gov. Riley's exact words were "Now no liberal judge can second guesse the law!" In my mind they should release all those in for murder when actually it was a case of self defense that were incarcerated back before the new law.

Oh well, I have rambled on too long. Sorry. I type pretty fast and go to typing as I think and next thing you know been rambling on! LOL !

hi Freebooter --

in the '90s i was one of 3 people holding signs & protesting the consideration of the Elmira Correctional Facility [NY] as the site for the execution of the death penalty , outside a strip mall near Elmira -- we were against the death penalty

from Wiki:
'Elmira Correctional Facility, also known as "The Hill", is a maximum security prison located in Chemung County, New York, in the City of Elmira. The ultra-maximum-security prison, Southport Correctional Facility, is located two miles away from Elmira.'
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elmira_Correctional_Facility

3 really big guys in the uniforms of the officers [guards] of that 'facility' approached me & told me that if i knew what some of the men in that place were really like, i might re-consider my p.o.v. -- i imagine Correctional Officers see evil face-to-face at times, as do cops

proud to say my 'blueblood' line is from Kentucky, south of the Mason-Dixon line -- the spirit of resistance seems to be pretty strong down there in our deep south, & in the Appalachians

edit: this song one of the best to sing along w/in a bar where folks come to hear the music, imo]

Wyn, wht part of Kentucky? My grandfather, a Rodgers, was born in raised in and around Clifton and Versailles, Woodford, Co., Ky. His father was born in Bourbon Co, Ky. His folks had come from Virginia a generation or two back. Drove up there just once to find my great grandfather's grave there in Versailles. My uncle and I found it and cleaned and scrubbed it up. Nice area.
