I actually was quite moved at the way the Olympic rings hovered above the stadium, to be joined by the large ring forged by hundreds of hammerers. Then floating up to join the others while seemingly glowing hot and shooting sparks. Very impressive. And perhaps symbolic in a lord of the rings type fashion.

The athletes are still coming in (Morocco as I write this) and Ive just realised what the copper cones are for, I think.

The Tor is a circular representation of pyramidology and the tree at the top represents the tree of life at the "eye" of the pyramid. The shape of the cones will facilitate smoke emerging to one side so will raise in a spiral around the "pyramid". Which is how the pyramids work. Creating an apparent DNA affect too.

That is typical of NBC coverage of the Olympics. They tape it all and play what they want you to see in the evenings even though its is events that happened earlier in the day. 6:30 Central time is 12:30 a.m. London time. I guess I know this because I am married to a man from Scotland.

I have watched the opening to look for the symbolism and it was blatantly obvious to the subliminal. One example of the subliminal is the 66 flashed at the countdown. The countdown is started and it is being symbolized by groups of kids with balloons that have the numbers 10 to 1 on them.

Something else that stood out was that the center of the stadium reminded me of Avebury somehow. This was the place where the fifth ring was forged.

Why can't there be an Olympics without all the hoopla during the opening and closing ceremonies? The ceremonies for each winning athlete should be enough. They get their metals then go home.... I'm sorry Sierra but I do find your post ill-informed in a number of ways. I really don't know what you mean by NHS propaganda. If I take propaganda to mean a form of communication that is aimed at influencing the attitude of a community (and I quote wikipedia here) then for me Danny Boyle was using his influence to point the finger at the government watching from the stands intent on dismantling the NHS.
