Definition: "Intuition is the ability to acquire knowledge without inference or the use of reason."
Carl Jung said stated that "introverted intuitive type from images from the unconscious, exploring the psychic world, seeking to perceive the meaning of events, but often having no interest in playing a role in those events and not seeing any connection between the contents of the psychic world and him- or herself."
It seems we can learn to develop intuition. How often in our lifes have we ignore it to our peril? So engrossed in life and living or surviving for many of us, that we lose our sense of these natural abilities, which are being supressed by the lifes we lead.
Our environment (psychic elements) is communicating with us all the time, every moment, yet we are blinded, that we become unreceptive to these moments, blocking any thoughts that take us away from the survival instinct that is most active for many of us to sustain our lifes here.
We must detox from the worldly blindness which has saturated the world, then we may understand who we really are and what part we have to play in the great scheme of things.

Or be born female;) Jokes aside, I believe that is part of the whole flouride pineal dumbing us down.

I think fear is a big problem, fear separates us from our inner truth, and its a death spiral - fear leading to more fear, and its a death spiral because the ultimate fear for many is death.
Once one can develop faith in ones own intuition - that cycle can be broken.
Even better when you are able to know that death is not the end and there is nothing to fear.
Life should be about being able to face our challenges and choices without being bogged down in fear.
In my opinion, intuition is the place from which the solutions to those problems eventually start out from - and for many it is developed by taking time to commune with oneself and taking steps to be healthy so as to remove as many obstacles to that process as possible. The practice of Meditation is a big help in that process.

Intuition is intelligence - a yin type of intelligence - the feminine - which is not possessed only by women.
Intellect is intelligence - a yang type of intelligence - the masculine - which is not possessed only by men.
In our society, intellect is preferred because it's considered superior. I believe this is because we still live in a patriarcal society which honours male qualities above female.
Because intuition is considered a female, inferior type of knowingness, it has gone undeveloped. The intellect has been favoured.
Please understand this is not an attack on men, especially not the men on this forum for they the most balanced individuals I have encountered. It's societal programming that tells us to develop our intellect but does not encourage the development of intuition.
The development of both intellect and intuition, with equal respect, would bring us further into balance.
I am just as much at fault as everyone else for not honouring my intuition which is very keen. But I have been working on de-programming myself and listening to my soul's guidance - which is highly intuitive.

the conscious mind in its most naked form is completely unbias and driven by the will, 'the pursuit of happiness', the seeking of unity. it is indeed a masculine energy (commonly related to the leo of the zodiac). as im sure youve all noticed, our conscious mind has drifted far from its most naked form and now has become rather complex with the ego\past life\experiences\bias etc etc etc
in regards to us on the spiritual path who dont have a strong connection to our feminine side, we develop our intuition by learning to use our conscious mind in a better way. our logic can be used to help us understand many things. but there is much that cant be understood with logic, and there is still plenty we havent become aware of yet. the ego can often be a huge roadblock, because we dont always know exactly what we are seeking and why we are seeking it. as we learn to stop identifying ourself with parts of our ego, we begin to see more clearly the whats and whys, and then new questions for understanding arise.
the unconscious mind doesnt always answer if the conscious mind has not yet asked the right question. and often times even when the right question is asked, the conscious mind isnt always quite ready to accept the truth. we are all aware of how we create consciously, but this is where we begin to create with our unconscious/intuitive side. the unconscious mind will manifests as catalyst into your life. i would like to think that most catalysts start in a minor form, but will then turn into something major if the individual still has not got the message. if the catalyst continues to be ignored by the mind and the spirit, it will then manifest catalyst into the body
i think that 'karma' can be our best tool for connecting these 2 minds. i also feel like as our awareness raises and we find ourself within higher levels of truth, we also find that 'karma' will manifest more quickly when we arent living our truth and not living in harmony. meditation cannot be recommended enough...and its clear why so many adepts recommend it. when we come to realizations through meditation by silencing the conscious mind, those big AHA moments allow us to break the catalyst/karma if we choose to learn our lesson and live the truth of that lesson. ask, and you shall recieve. knock, and the door will be opened.....
much blessings to you all. putting this in words helps me get a better grasp on it

At first, the "voice/feeling" of intuition is nothing but like a whisper in a crowded and noisy restaurant. But, just like working a physical muscle, it gets stronger with use. Starting around 3 or so years ago, I would practice trying to notice it, but then experiment what would happen by not doing what it suggested. Needless to say, things went poorly every time I did this, so guess what? That experiment soon made it's way to the dust bin of miserably failed ideas.
Now, even if I'm being prompted to do something seemingly ludicrous, I do it anyway. It has yet to fail me.
Cheers,
Fred
