Here's what I did -- I sent a THANK YOU to Senator Bernie Sanders even though I'm not from Vermont. I asked him to form a coalition of like-minded Senators on behalf of the FREEDOM MOVEMENT. http://www.sanders.senate.gov/contact/

United States of America + capitalism = FAIL

We don't have capitalism any more in the United States. True capitalism allows for failure, and not bailouts like what the banks received.

Wow, what is with the guy in the background he looks like a clone or something, at first I thought he was a picture, then I noticed he doesn't blink until the sixth minute! Would he blend into a crowd or what? The art of looking like your paying attention.

Hey, anyone who feels the same as Bernie, that voting for democrats over republicans, and changing the system from one "ism" to another is going to save the day, have at it.

In the meantime though, I wonder why he's not pointing the finger at Ben Bernanke...That must be a big no no for some reason...

Cheers,
Fred

Straight to the point. What was the response to this speech? Silence or divert the attention away from any meaningfull efforts which could alter the situation maybe?

either that or he was on camera picking his nose once, and has learned his lesson!

regarding the OP though

the observant will have noticed what he doesnt say. (such as naming names)

its two different worlds really.
we see it, because we became aware of it,
but senators are actually IN the thing that we became aware of.
he did state the facts as they are.... some of them...
but it was done through what i would call a political lens.

the facts only as they relate to policy.
i reckon, that posture is a lot safer than trying to argue a conspiracy.

i'm also aware that there are extra's that are played into scenario's.
and rules tptb have to play by.

one is that they must always tell us what they intend to do.
the truth must be in there somewhere.

something they also have a habit of doing,
(this is more about controlling both sides)
is to have 'our' side argued for us by morons.
to have our case made by people who are so unacceptable to the public,
that the public will go against their own interests,
purely because they dont like the guy standing up for them.
(nick griffin of the BNP for example)

i'm not saying thats the case with senator Sanders,
but he IS part of the machine.

and there are a lot of bills that go through the house mostly unopposed.

i dont place any faith in any of them.
no matter who or where they are.
they get paid money to do what they do.

how much real interest is there in changing all that?

Bernie Saunders is one of the few politicians I do admire - I have been following him on Twitter since his famous filibustering episode about 18 months ago when he spoke for over 8 1/2 hours to stall the tax cut deal! Though as an independent I don't know how much he can really do other than raise uncomfortable issues in the Senate that others avoid to tow the party line.

In regards to the middle class...
The job of the current president IS to destroy the middle class, as we will learn when the documentary 'Dreams of My Father' goes viral. Middle class is, by defination, a threat to the corporations.

Alright , so here comes the class envy which was designed by who lately? and is being paid attention by who lately? Why are successful people being portrayed as criminals because they have more zero's in their bank account. Is that really an issue because it seems to me thru all of history there has been wealth in some certain places and less than in others all over the world.

If your looking at the middle class which I am part of , the real reason why things are getting harder for all of us isn't because someone else is making more money than me, I mean come on has your life been directly impacted by the Ford Family for example who are major shareholders at Ford Motor Company because they have acquired more zeros in their bank account? Dah! The reason why its getting harder to get by is because the dollar is becoming less valuble and thats because our government is printing and distributing more money in the last 4 years than it has in the last 200 years and it's all borrowed. More money in circulation means it is becoming less valuable thus it takes more dollars to buy that same gallon of milk or gas than say 4 years ago ! YOU can't keep spending money you don't have without consequences and the same applies to you at home with your own budget , really!

Now onto the theatre stage of class warfare, I own a business, I'm 50 years old, started when I was 24. Have employed over 500 people in my lifetime, took all the risks, worked ungodly hours thru my 20's , 30's and 40's . Lost everything I had 15 years ago , spent 2 years in the bankruptcy court system and managed to come back again but this will be the last time as my energy level isn't what it use to be. Now I'm only one person , but I've impacted over 500 families in my lifetime, some years I made great money and other years terrible. It's the chance business owners take, there are no garantees that I will be successful or so called wealthy. But this is my choice, this is my life and these are my hours of myself trying to get ahead when others are out partying for the evening and I'm working ,why shouldn't there be a bonus at the end of all of this sacrifice. Can someone tell me why it is so wrong that if you truly have worked your way thru this entire system and finally made it to a point where the last 30 years of hard work, taking so many risks,so many headaches, so many sleepless nights, that there isn't something at the end for me for all that I have done, and it's not a sure thing either. I can tell you this , none of you are going to be there should I have a lawsuit, should someone decide not to pay me, should someone take an intentional step and they try and screw me.Where is my safety net and where are all of the class envy people out there to protect me in those situations. Where's my compensation for all this BS. I can tell you honestly I am on my own when things happen like this. I do what I do in hopes that one day I can sit back more comfortably financially in hopes that the path I took in life thru all of these years does truly have a rainbow at the end because I picked that path for myself and I didn't recieve any help from anyone. I hope that my hard word has also paid off over the years in helping so many families indeed live a better lifestyle as well because yes at times my company was more profitable + thus more income for people + = more tax base for the government to work with, gee what a concept . Btw I am an independent too.

As a follow to my last post here are some stats to intake, In the United states approx 52% of the population does not pay any taxes, of the remaining 48% who do , lets call the 48% the 100% of the tax payers. 20% of the top wage earners of who is left that pay taxes, pay 69% of all federal taxes. Of the top 1% of the tax payers in the highest income your so called millionaires and billionaires they pay 36% of all federal taxes collected.

A gentlemen did a study last year and gave the scenerio which would never happen but he calculated the formula based on all millionaires and billionaires paying 100% of their income for the year to the government. Based on their earnings at their 100% of everything they made , it would only pay 12% of our new standard national trillion dollar borrowed yearly budget/no budget . So if your buying into this stuff about paying your fair share, I'll take you on the other side, I know of a gal that works in an office locally here in town, she is single , 1 child and made 30k US last year, she paid in 6k in federal and social security taxes last year and do you know what she got back on her taxes? A check for 6k from our federal govn't . So basically she contributed nothing , is that fair? She's not breaking the law but thats the system at work.

So we move on to the last phase of this topic, don't get sucked into the vortex of class warfare, it's negative energy designed to distract so its a win ,win ,for the bad guys. Yes there are crooks at the top of the ladder and their are those who are scamming the bottom end too. Thats life.

A very close friend of mine here on avalon told me one time, money isn't real anymore , we have borrowed ourselfs to the depths where superman won't even be able to get us out of this. So now we just wait and see how long the ponzi scheme will last. My advise is don't get sucked into the vortex and what the agenda is and that is too pre-occupy and pit groups against one another, deflect the truth. Just live your life, help one another or someone everyday and smile. When and if this ever hits the fan no matter what your wealth status is in life , at that point in time we will all become equal because money won't mean anything anymore. The end..

Sometimes, I get discouraged bringing information on this forum. Rather than be happy that something NEW is being said on the Senate floor ... well guys there are those who don't see the positive in the small things.

IT HAS TO START SOMEWHERE .......... It just might be little tiny slivers of light getting through.

I am pleased with progress --- no matter how small.

I'm glad Sen. Sanders told it like it is but i have to wonder
if this was just a dog and pony show to make it look like
someone in congress still gives a crap about the american
people.

Things are so corrupt in government any more, that it's really
hard to know just who's really a friend of the people any more...

The Transcript of Bernie's 90 minute speech on the budget:

http://www.sanders.senate.gov/newsroom/news/?id=aa0f5904-c400-415e-aaff-86ca62fa2b3b

It is interesting to read exactly what he said, what does this say about the rich and the United States, well it think it speaks for itself. Too many politicians are affilated with the billionaires, millionares, and lobbies. This is why they do not speak out.

Further speeches...and more anger.

Bernie does his job well. The rest of the scumbags will buy him lunch for a job well done. You can't be in a crime family without serving some useful purpose.

In all seriousness, I could not agree more with this post, lets look at who is helping, not being negitive about why he did not do more. We all have a voice, lets use it for hope, change and healing of each ther and this planet.
