Demonoid (torrent site), was taken down by law enforcement officials in Mexico and Ukraine. This is more evidence of suppression of the flow of information, and control via the internet. This is a sign of the authorities wanting complete control over the internet, so they can decide what they think we should know. Hence complete control over its population for each country.

The best torrent site I know of is Pirate Bay. (http://thepiratebay.se/) If that falls, I'd be seriously deprived of a huge amount of valuable material.

My ISP will not allow access to that site! I use extratorrent quite a bit. I will say I obtained 100s of UFO books in a couple of torrents from Demonoid, it was alway good stuff there.

I haven't been able to access Pirate Bay for a couple years now. I use Lime Torrents a lot.

Demonoid has been under pressure for a long time now and sadly, it seems that they managed to take it down. I have been a user there for a long time, and it was one of the best sites that i knew of (most of the torrents were "filtered" somehow, to prevent fake releases and other stuff).
I honestly hope they wont bring piratebay down also :(

EVERYTHING on the web is controlled..everything is positioned, placed, cycled through over and over again. If we could only tap into the TRUE resource field outside of the WEB (just like a spider web) EVERYTHING WILL BE CRYSTAL CLEAR. We are in a VACUUM...all information in regurgitated and spit out in different facades to appear different.

There is no reason to fear an impending lock down of information WHEN this is already going on and has been for along time.

Wow that's a real bummer
Let's hope the owner prevails
These guys have a way of finding work arounds
I know the owner has loads of support to get back up
It not the first time this has happened, but this latest
attack was reportly so big that much rebuilding is needed
And being basically a one person operation it's taken it's
time to fix , he has been reluctant to accept help as it would
mean giving out sensitive details .
This sounds like it was quite a well planned and organized
take down . "They"can keep trying but there is for sure still
loads of fight in the torrent community, they are a clever
and determined group..

The most stange seize of a website, was the link below closed by Homeland Security.

It seems their abilities to close sites down, is excelerating. Maybe there is a set agenda?

Never been there. And I still buy my CD's from stores.

As one of the earlier internet and computing geek types, It might seem odd for me to not be able to navigate my way around such things, and that I have no computing experience anywhere near such things..but that's the way it goes. just Like the mechanic who always drives around in broken cars, as he can't be bothered...

It is also that I very much like and prefer 'hard copy' of anything I may approach. I have one of those touch screen reader devices, designed for books.

It sits brand new in it's box.... while I thumb my way through a paper book or magazine.

I'm repeating myself on this, but it is a critical thing to know, IMO. So I'll repeat myself for those who missed it the first time.

~~~~~~~~~~~
I ran into one of the creators of the internet, when the atlas rocket program was running. (which became the Saturn five rockets that sent humanity to the moon)
He explained to me, in detail....what the original thrust and reality was. He was there. He was one of the original communication system and subsystem design engineers.
They where forbidden to communicate with one another.
This hampered their efforts to the point that nothing was getting done in any functional manner - at all. The enforced military and politically originated compartmentalization within this large group of scientists and engineers (from multiple continents and many countries) was going to make the effort fail.
Thus, the engineers and scientists endeavored to bypass the security apparatus in any way and method they could find, or devise.
They began building and using clandestine communication systems and methodologies.
One of their tricks was to piggyback data on unused areas on and in extant systems, to design methods of using radio communication for digital data,and so on. (they where already using 64 bit word length at that time!) Eventually they built methods and ways to communicate and share data in as much as 5 or six different ways of transmission, before the given data reached it's final destination.
They created the military's internet. Which the military watched come into being and then they shut it down and took it all away ....as the first successful atlas rockets where finally fired off.
This system of communication...was the internet in it's primal, original form.
Thus the true origins of the internet was the furthering of the human race, and it's communication, in the face of an enforced threat of isolation and compartmentalization, and thus control, containment, and full recognition and record of all data flow between questing humans - humans trying to better humanity in the face of oppressive and non functional controls enacted and enforced by war mongering financial and political interests.
Just thought you folks should know this. Might be important.....
I am sorry to see demonoid go down.
I have been a member of that site for a few years and found it to be quite a gem.
BT Junkie as far as I am concerned was the best!
It is a shame to see them go....all I can say.....is I thank the world for the freedom.....I know and for the freedom of the things I had in the past.
I suppose that we shall just have to go to the old system of using news groups and private networking
I am thankful I had to opportunity to wake-up
Noooooo! That was one of the best torrent sites. Pirate Bay is been blocked here too. It was just recently that record companies sued ISPs and won so I'm not sure if there is an ISP in Finland anymore which would allow access to Pirate Bay. Fortunately it's very easy to unblock. This works for me:
https://tpb.pirateparty.org.uk
Here's some other alternate IP's
Another great torrent site/search engine is Isohunt
Somewhere to download peoples hard work for free?
Don't mean big music studios or films, but independent game developers and music artists, new writers, some of all don't mind, but can still be a bit dis-respectful. As that is where piracy can really hit hard, which is the only real issue with it, doesn't strongly help those at bottom unfortunately.
Pirate bay and other sites are good, only issue is people not having much respect, internet should be more free like torrent sites in a way, if only attitudes would change a bit, bit too much of a free for all on everything.
yes and the true origins, the original intent that something was seeded to do,
has a way of coming through in the end,
this is important info, no question.
Thanks Carmody, what a fascinating story.
