Science and Spirituality.
Science deals with the physical and psychological world.
Spirituality deal with the physical and psychological world.
So what's the difference? ...None!
One starts at the beginning and the other starts at the end!

One can perceive that one view is multi dimensional (spiritual) and the other not (empirical).

I smile when people say that spiritual endeavour is not practical.
The 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous is a spiritual program and has helped millions of people lead a life which can contribute to the well being of the community.
A reduction in ego and a quiet mind benefits many.
As said before this thread http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?860-Enlightenment-The-Ego-what-is-it-How-to-transcend-it.&p=7764&viewfull=1#post7764
has been going for two years with over 113 thousand hits and has videos on science and spirituality.
It pleases me greatly that when I joined the original Avalon there were just a few posting threads on spirituality and now Tony to the fore with Another Bob, Jenci, Tim and many others starting spiritual threads and contributing regularly.
There is definitely an upsurge of genuine interest in spirituality and of-course science is catching up and proving that everything is part of the whole---One.
Keep up the good work Tony-- I much appreciate it.

Together we can definitely make a difference.
The more space we create the freer others will feel.

science has no morality.
no conscience.
and doesnt acknowledge the existence of anything that cannot be proven to exist.
i find that to be the height of ignorance, and arrogance.
and it also means that the pool of available knowledge,
is determined by those things that the scientific community
has deemed worthy of investigation.
this i think is a very limiting position to take.
spirituality is all encompassing...
it has morality and conscience
and contains all those things that science chooses to ignore. (or cannot prove)
science is so limited,
that it cannot prove to exist, things which are self evident.
such as the behaviour of animals who display compassion towards a different species,
or the synergy that occurs with large groups of people.
it cannot even prove the existence of the soul.
but it will find new ways to kill people. it will infect animals with diseases
it will create chemicals which poison the planet
and bombs that obliterate massive area's
i would say that in order to engage in stuff like that
one has to bypass the soul as it would weigh too heavily on the conscience.
imo

Science is just a bit slow, it has to disprove everything first!
There are scientists looking at consciousness, and one day they
may even make a machine to prove consciousness exists.
Then they will have to make a machine to tell them if existence
is real or not.
Some of us, just cannot wait that long!;)
