Back where we started, here we go round again...day after day I get up and I say: "the writing is on the wall!" Obama Demanded Congressional Recess as Free Hand for War

August 10, 2012 • 7:40AM

Senior Democratic Party and intelligence community sources have all confirmed that the Tuesday unanimous consent in the Congress, reversing last week's House vote to remain in session through the August period, was engineered by the White House and was motivated, in part, to give Obama a free hand to unleash the Guns of August. According to the sources, Obama is now preparing direct U.S. military intervention in Syria to overthrow the Assad regime, given the recent on-the-ground setback for the armed Syrian opposition, which was routed in Damascus and is in process of being defeated in Aleppo. He did not want Congress in session while the option is put in place for such a U.S. move, the sources confirmed.

At the same time that Obama has ordered the U.S. military to prepare detailed plans for bombing of select Syrian military targets and the establishing of a no-fly zone over the country, there are growing indications that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is nearing the decision to order Israeli attacks on Iranian nuclear sites — between now and October.

Any U.S. military action in Syria will be done outside the framework of the United Nations Security Council, where both Russia and China remain adament that they will not allow "another Libya" in Syria, and where the two countries have already vetoed several resolutions that could have provided a foot in the door for outside intervention. Any such U.S. or "coalition of the willing" action against the Assad government in Syria would immediately trigger a potential thermonuclear world war, as both Putin and the Chinese leadership have made clear that any such foreign regime-change military actions would trigger general war with the potential for the use of thermonuclear weapons. This is the crux of the "Putin Doctrine," which has been fully supported by the Chinese government as well.

The threat of a no-fly zone over Syria was openly put on the table by White House counterterrorism chief John Brennan in a speech August 8th, at the Council on Foreign Relations, and the White House has made a series of leaks to news media, indicating preparations for direct military intervention. Recently, the U.S. Treasury Department issued a waiver to a new organization, the Syrian Support Group, to provide aid, including weapons, to the Syrian opposition.

According to several Democratic Party insiders close to the Obama Administration, the planned U.S. actions against Syria are tied to Obama's re-election strategy of painting himself as "tough on national security," and this intersects growing concerns that the longer the Syria crisis continues, the greater the role of Al Qaeda and allied radical neo-Salafi networks in the opposition. Since Obama put the demand of Assad's ouster front and center from the outset of the crisis last year, it now comes down to the U.S. directly intervening militarily to achieve that goal — regardless of the fact that it could trigger World War III.

I love music videos, MTV pulled me out of semi-retirement in the early 80's. I have been a performer (paid) since 1967 and experienced music as the back drop to ending a war and the draft. The soundtrack to us emptying schools filling the streets and mixing up with the police. I held friends with profusely bleeding scalps in those same streets. We made a difference and the music was our story and call to arms.

The videos in this thread appear clownish and ill placed. The gravitas and urgency of these times has no real protesters or artists protesting musically with them. It is one of the reasons we have a problem that keeps growing. The young will not represent, unless it is on facebook or a forum. Occuppy was nothing more than a staged theater with the moral of the story being it is better to stay home and talk sh!t on your computers or somebody might get hurt. All battles have their wounded.............and dead. Kent State in Ohio, with 4 dead, was just the white dead. Black colleges had higher body counts, but the media didn't count their bodies. Didn't think it important.

This thread has a real point to make and I take no issue with that point. The music videos, timeless and applicable, only point to the vacuum of the current times where the musicians do not dare bite the hand that feeds them. Living like we do is unacceptable for them and so music made by people of greater integrity needs be pulled out of the vault. Pointing a big finger at the real problem. Do nothing citizenry. Whiners who won't do anything.

Such good music is shamed accompanying an acquiescent, mewling population. My ass was headed for the meat grinder of Viet Nam. I stood up and saved not only myself from the draft but every male in the USA since that time.

Please make your points and leave the soundtrack out of it. It's hokey. I loved the songs, just cheesy placement.

IMO

Looks like the UK has already entered the fracas...they have pledged £5 million in aid to Syrian rebels. They are emphasising he fact this will not include guns, but rather other forms of support ( communication equipment, training, medical).

Immediate thought: Here they go again!

government meddling in other countries business, while letting our country go straight down the toilet. we care about other countries more than our own , we still don't have a buget, and the years almost over.

Just more proof of the oligarchical mind set minions really working for the queen and not the american people or any people but themselves. Problem, reaction, solution, doesn't take too much common sense and critical thinking to see what is coming at us next....Rob
