CIRCLES of UNDERSTANDING.

Imagine concentric circles, rather like looking down on a hurricane: the centre is still, and the outer circles speed around, creating havoc. As we move outwards, more and more turmoil is created the further that we move away from this still centre.

We can relate this to human understanding. At our centre, we are pure stillness. As our attention moves outwards, it gets more isolated, blown around in confusion.

In this centre space, different subjects can relate to one another, and we can see how seemingly opposites are one and the same thing. There are just differences of description in language. As we move away from the centre, we find it more difficult to join up the dots, as everything seems more disconnected and isolated.

At the centre, we can talk of Science and Spirituality, and see that are they same thing from different view points - that they are not totally different. One can speak of God and no God so that these two seemingly different aspects are not seen as so dissimilar, in the sense of God Consciousness.

In the centre there are subtleties where ideas can be easily flipped, and we can see that we are saying the same thing. There are great “Ah ha!” moments! There is a silent, open meeting of minds in this stillness.

As we move out of this centre, we separate more, and cannot really connect with what is around us, and so we hold onto our differences. We may say we are all one, but it is glaringly obvious that we are not! Not in these outer circles. The further we go out in these outer circles, the more the subject is all about “me,” rather than the topic.

At the centre of the storm, the view is still, vast and silent. At the extremes of the storm, we are too busy whirling around, and holding on for dear life to notice stillness...maybe we even enjoy the excitement!

So on forums, we discuss matters, from many view points...and from positions in different circles.
The question is, “Are they just different, or are there different levels of understanding?”
We all have different circles of discernment about what we read on forums.

Some circles talk about me.
Some circles talk about people.
Some circles talk of places.
Some circles talk of events.
Some circles talk of ideas.
Some circles talk of essence.

One only has to sit in a coffee bar and listen to conversations to see clearly see different levels of reality.
Some realities find it's impossible to connect up the dots.
Some realities more difficult to connect the dots.
Some realities see that there are no separate dots to join up.

In the centre, everything is of one taste. This is not 'Oneness' of all things: every thing is just the same illusory taste, good or bad.

I had a strange conversation with a forum member about reality. One of us spoke about the reality of a non-changing truth: that which is constant. The other spoke of where he was, the place he was standing in: that was his reality. So you can see how we can talk at cross purposes! The further away from the centre we move, the more angry and frustrated we get.

What is this Essence at the centre?
It is that which asks the question - so it already knows the answer!

Yours whirling around in ever decreasing circles,
Tony

Once inside the calm center the realization that leaving this safe place meets up with sudden static resistance. Electromagnetic in all it's nature and fully charged. There is no small step in coming back out. It is all toroidal in nature. IMHO

As I read your post, I just remembered a dream I had as a child (maybe 10yrs old)
I was in almost complete darkness, there was a sphere (dark grey metallic) of some sort in front of me with a tremendous vortex of energy pulling me in.
If I focused on it and held it in my attention, the vibration was overwhelming, causing distortion and feeling of dizzyness. I shifted my attention at the center and I felt the vibration decrease dramatically and as if I was inside the center, the feeling of calmness came over me although confusion as to where I was. This dream happened a few times over my teen years but it always baffled me because if in the center the disorientation almost ceased, but if trying to leave outward from this sphere, chaos and vibration overtook me. I have always wondered about this dream and what it meant.
Thank you for your post, on a subtle level I may have a tiny sense of relief hearing your explanation. Still whirling around though, wondering what it really was.

Blessings
Annette

We have lineal-perspectives,
We have (simultaneous) multi-perspectives,
Over inner-outer occurrences,
All displaying (simultaneously) in Essence/Tao.
We forget we are already in Essence.
Being out of center, is an illusion of mind? or one more experience in Essence?.

“Are they just different, or are there different levels of understanding?”

We are paradoxes experiencing paradoxes. In(side) Essence.

P.S: mind just got dizzy over here :D
