As title says, i heard this on the dutch business radio this afternoon while tanning in some intense burning sun.
I can only find articles in a German newspaper and have no free acces to English ones ( could not find it in a fast search anyway.
In short, from this day on the German army can and will be deployed on home turf when tshtf as a last resort, what could they be expecting? Are things that bad in Europe now.
If you have more info please post, Germany is awfully close to Holland in a shtf scenario.
Thanx in advance.

This is what the dpa (German Press Agency) says:
The German military is now allowed to apply military force inside Germany - but only in extreme cases like terror attacks. This is what the Constitutional Court ruled in this highly controversial case, it thus expanded the possible applications of the army.
It's still forbidden to shoot down passanger planes during possible terror attacks; the deployment against protesters is also still not possible. The judges emphasized, that even when there'd be an urgency, a parliamentary decision needs to approve any operation beforehand.

Totalitarian tip-toe or decent judges trying to apply some common sense?

In a way it's actually not all that new ... in Holland we had BBE (Bijzondere Bijstands Eenheid) now called: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unit_Interventie_Mariniers
Marines that are trained and used to counter "terrorism" ... (how expandable is that term ?)

Klopt als een zwerende vinger!
Last year they did exercises in Holland too, had not happened in a lot of previous years, was very odd.
Its not new indeed but weird all of these things are happening now, so what are they up to is still my question.
