This is freaking me out a bit...
but coming home from breakfast this morning with my daughter, we saw a military jeep with two soldiers in it and behind the jeep was a trailer with a mounted machine gun.
They were pulling out of a dirt road onto the highway.

I live in a small rural farming community in the thumb of Michigan.
I know the road they were coming off of...I know every farm and every family on that road and I can't think of ANY reason for there to be a lone armed military vehicle there.
The two soldiers had that 'alert, all business' kind of look that cops get when they pull you over.

Funny, isn't it, that the sight of a US military vehicle should make me feel unsafe?
But it was where it shouldn't be.

ssomething might have landed in one of the fields. Why not inquiring with neighbors?

Any time this happens try to get get unit and brigade insignia from their uniforms. These will be numbers and shoulder patch identification. From that you can trace their specialty (infantry, bridge building, etc) and their home base.

On my way back from a business trip to a tiny, remote Colorado farming community last week I was shocked to encounter an entire military convoy. Six Humvees with .50 cal machine guns, then two Colorado highway patrol SUVs with lights flashing, then a large tractor trailer rig, then two more highway patrol and three more machine gun trucks.

Freakiest part was the whole convoy was being followed by two Blackhawk gunship helicopters.

National Guard and Air Force convoys are not unheard of around here but that was spooky. Made me feel like I'm living in Nazi Germany.

The border...Holy crap...Canada is gonna invade! I knew it was just a matter of time...any country that quiet and that polite has GOT to be up to something! ;)

I'm about 30 miles from Port Huron and we see border patrol regularly. This was military. I spoke with my military daughter this morning and she was quite upset and considered it highly unusual.. She will be making some discreet inquiries.

Went to the local tavern last night (that's where you go if you are looking for information or have information to share) Several saw the vehicle...no one knows of anything unusual taking place locally...all considered it suspicious.

As for myself, if I see the vehicle or one similar again, I fully intend to stop and ask who they are, where they are from, why they are here and where they are going.

And WyoSeeker....I would REALLY like to know what the heck was in that tractor trailer!

I would guess it was strategic and probably nuclear with that kind of air support. There are a lot of warheads in silos around here and the Colorado front range is home to a lot of weapons plants.

That's just my speculation.
