Mind-altering drugs like LSD, ketamine or magic mushrooms could be combined with psychotherapy to treat people suffering from depression, compulsive disorders or chronic pain, Swiss scientists suggested on Wednesday.

Research into the effects of psychedelics, used in the past in psychiatry, has been restricted in recent decades because of the negative connotations of drugs, but the scientists said more studies into their clinical potential were now justified.

The researchers said recent brain imaging studies show that psychedelics such as lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), ketamine and psilocybin -- the psychoactive component in recreational drugs known as magic mushrooms -- act on the brain in ways that could help reduce symptoms of various psychiatric disorders....

yes...possibly allow one to 'see' beyond the fog and the illusion...the programming, the effects of 'others' influence in their lives, in the form of 'what has been done to them in their growing years, past lives included.

Of course, this isn't always the case, but their are numerous case's of individuals who have suffered at the hands of others during this most important stage, as a youngster...victims can carry this burdon for their entire lives and not realize the programming at play...ending up unhinged, confused, seperated, unloved and reliant on orthodox treatments which sadly dont always get to the initial cause and to free one of these effects.

National Geographic did a great show on this. There where multiple people that had chronic depression and cured it with a few mushroom trips. They where outlawed because they prevent people from being programmed to think inside a box. It had nothing to do with safety. I am still astonished that a fungus that grows on cow paddies all over the place is a class 1 narcotic the moment it leaves the paddy and is in your hand. That is like making it illegal to walk down the street.

If they want to do this, then by all means, do it.

Perhaps it will lead to a better understanding of the effects of chemicals and hopefully lead to legalization/decriminalization of them. I'm not holding my breath but in an ideal world, we would stop killing/jailing each other over possession of these chemicals.
