"Apotheosis (from Greek ἀποθέωσις from ἀποθεοῦν, apotheoun "to deify"; in Latin deificatio "making divine"; also called divinization and deification) is the glorification of a subject to divine level. The term has meanings in theology, where it refers to a belief, and in art, where it refers to a genre.
In theology, the term apotheosis refers to the idea that an individual has been raised to godlike stature. In art, the term refers to the treatment of any subject (a figure, group, locale, motif, convention or melody) in a particularly grand or exalted manner." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apotheosis
How often in human history have we exulted a individual to a divine, superior or "godlike stature"? Yet all those that have achieve this stature, still grow old, get ill and full of human frailties and die. Does this not conclude that no individual is better than any other and that we are all equal, we are after all, flesh and blood, we all need air, food, water and warmth?
It begs the question why do other human beings exult other human beings to the level, what causes the "apotheosis phenomena"? Today we have statues of enormous stature, of different people, and of mythical illusions. Are these just a matter of psychological tricks to seemly create the illusion of superiority over the poor average soul that looks up to it.?
It seems almost in every corner of the Earth this phenomena is present, the chief of a tribe in the forest has the biggest hut and wears the most splended of clothes to out shine his fellow tribesman, to Kings, Queens, Presidents and dictators....all follow the unequal and unbalanced social society. It seems as if it is a unwritten rule, or perhaps blindness and ignorance of the world has swepted to every part of every civilization?
