Jere Van Dyk is a former TV correspondent and Taliban expert (and was once held captive by them).
He believes the Taliban is poorly understood in the West, but that better understanding is key for US foreign policy.
He shares his views with RT - READ FULL SCRIPT http://on.rt.com/gx5ukm

As was said at the end of the interview , the conflict is more complicated than portrayed.
The border between the two countries were drawn up by colonial bureaucratics, and the
people living on the ground do not acknowledge it ...

Brilliant! It is all so complex and by getting involved, the USA and allies are not helping anyone at all.
Leave, stop interfering!

A piece from this article: http://larouchepac.com/node/23844
...
Putin called for an end to shipping arms into the Syrian war zone, and made the direct analogy to Afghanistan in the 1980s: "At that time, our current partners supported a rebel movement there and basically gave rise to Al Qaeda, a United States pet project that later targeted its creator.
"Today some people want to use militants from Al Qaeda or some other organizations with equally radical views to accomplish their goals in Syria. This policy is dangerous and very short-sighted. But in that case, one should unlock Guantanamo, arm all of its inmates and bring them to Syria to do the fighting. I would like to emphasize that this policy is very short-sighted and is fraught with dire consequences."

look into the works or stories of Ray McGovern, who was the whitehouse's day to day report CIA liason, through 4 administrations, for 14 years, and who was with the CIA for 27 years.
He'll explain who 'Al qaeda' was and what a Necon is and where they come from. (origins and timeline of both)

Having served as a CIA analyst for 27 years, Ray McGovern speaks candidly about the creation of the Agency, the deceit that lead to the invasion of Iraq,
the questionable character of George Tenet, and more. In stark frankness, McGovern examines the politicization of the Central Intelligence Agency and
how it came to be an entity that serves the White House agenda, instead of one that serves up the unbiased truth. Disgusted by the lack of integrity
exhibited by members of the intelligence community and U.S. government, McGovern retired and eventually co-created VIPS (Veteran Intelligence
Professionals for Sanity)-an organization dedicated to exposing the mishandling of important intelligence, particularly with regard to the War on Iraq.
Full of inside information you have never heard before about the way in which our nation's most secretive agency operates. (Written by Richard Castro)

Listening to Ray he explains how callus/incompetent and hawkish the likes of Bush & Cheney are
and following his logic and explainations from his expert viewpoint and experiance it
makes sence whats happening why/how the goverment in the US has been userped by greedy
oil magnates and power crazy incompetents with a bulge in their pants and dollers in their
bank acounts...O'kay he doesen't say it quite like that...LOL...
But he is only a fraction away from what most believe here that the we are is being manipulated
by darker forces for their NWO agenda....I always thought untill the last five years or so the
world was run just by greedy powerfull human families and maybe that is all it is ? But events
and the zero value of life makes me feel there is something else afoot !!

Comparing the 2007 hour long video, with the more recent one... once can see that somewhere along the line.....Ray ended up with cancer.
One wonders if it was due to his outspoken behavior about his version of what really went on in the CIA and how it connects to the Whitehouse.
