Would-be Jihadist Chicago teenager tries to blow up bar, arrested in FBI sting
Published: 16 September, 2012, 13:23
In a dramatic FBI sting, US agents arrested an 18-year-old American who attempted to detonate a fake car bomb outside a popular Chicago bar on Friday night. The teen was arrested immediately after he pushed the button on the dummy explosives.
Suspect Adel Daoud planned the attack for months, telling undercover agents he was interested in “violent Jihad.”
The son of Egyptian immigrants, Daoud has been charged with one count of attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction and one count of attempt to damage and destroy a building by means of an explosive.
“The explosives that Daoud allegedly attempted to detonate posed no threat to the public…They were inert and had been supplied by undercover law enforcement personnel,” acting US Attorney Gary Shapiro said Saturday in a statement from the US Attorney's Office in the Northern District of Illinois.
Daoud met with undercover agents at 7:15pm on Friday and drove to downtown Chicago, where he reportedly prayed that the explosion would cause many deaths. After reaching Chicago, they switched vehicles to a Jeep containing the fake explosives and parked it outside the bar.
After walking about a block, Daoud turned down a deserted alleyway with an undercover agent, stopped, and pressed the trigger. Authorities only arrested him after he attempted to activate the fake bomb.
According to an affidavit, Daoud planned the attack for months, and the FBI was alerted to the possible danger through emails he sent in October 2011 “relating to violent jihad and the killing of Americans.”
While defense lawyers traditionally maintain that arrests in such cases constitute entrapment, Daoud was “offered several opportunities to change his mind and walk away from the supposed attack,” the US Attorney’s Office statement said.
“From late May to mid-June 2012, Daoud confirmed his belief in the propriety of killing Americans in a terrorist attack, and then began seeking online resources regarding how to carry out an attack,” the statement read.
In October 2011, Daoud sent several individuals a PowerPoint presentation titled 'The Osama Bin Laden I know,' as well as material on Anwar al-Awlaki. Al-Awlaki was the leader of Al-Qaeda's Yemeni branch, and was killed by a US drone strike a month earlier in September 2011.
Daoud was contacted online by undercover FBI agents posing as terrorists in May 2012, and exchanged several emails with them expressing his desire to kill Americans on a massive scale.
The agents met with Daoud and discussed several means of carrying out the attack, and Daoud provided them with a list of 29 possible targets. In one conversation, Daoud said that “I want to get the most evil place, but I want to get a more populated place.” After conducting reconnaissance, Daoud selected the bar as his target.
The FBI was involved in a number of foiled terror attempts to in recent years. A number of these cases were highly controversial, with defense lawyers pleading entrapment and arguing that their clients pursued violence not only because the FBI provided them with the means, but also actively encouraged them in their act. An exposé last year by Mother Jones magazine and the Investigative Reporting Program at the University of California-Berkley revealed that the FBI currently employs as many as 15,000 undercover agents, with some making as much as $100,000 per assignment.
Such entrapment defenses are rarely upheld in court, as it is difficult to prove that the defendant was not predisposed to commit the crime, and the FBI usually claims to repeatedly offer its targets chances to back out.
A preliminary hearing in Daoud’s case was scheduled for Monday afternoon at Chicago's Dirksen Courthouse.

Odd. If the explosives were fake, then there was no danger to the people or property. Is intent a crime?

Yes it is, when this was a serious attempt for another false flag.

Out of balance 18 year old males, in this environment, are going to be as common as grass. Hundreds in one city alone, to one degree or another. Finding one and then building him into some sort of danger, this could be done anywhere, in any city, in any country in the world.
Thus, with the most unbiased but informed eye possible, it is easy to see that this is a bunch of malarkey. Garbage. It is a false story created by the FBI, or whomever works inside of that group, to try and bring about some sort of fascist paranoid state.
The kids are unbalanced, as everything around them is unbalanced, in every way possible.
And we know it's coming from an unbalanced government, from unbalanced religions, from unbalanced capitalism, all run like a machine from the inside, by hidden hands called secret societies with their hidden ulterior fascist self serving motives.
Turning functional states into fascist states has a long history in human society, and this kid was only reacting in the very upset manner and place that some kids find themselves at, when they can't find the source of the nightmare that is being perpetrated against society at all levels.
Those who want to make a fascist state, used the kid to front that motive by making him a functional threat, an enabled threat... in a world that is moving into fascism. If the world was not moving into a paranoid fascism on multiple fronts...this never would happened, meaning, the kid never would have been bent into the shape that he was. a shape created by some other compatriots of the FBI, via wars in other countries.
The whole point of a functional society, is that those who know better are to protect and work with those who's depth of vision and capacity to see into situation is not as clear as could be.
Psychotics, on the other hand, take advantage of such things. and the idea of using a kid and creating a terrorist, enabling him, this was borne out of the machinations of a bunch of paranoid, fascist, secret society types, lurking in the governments, trying to take over the USA from the inside, after screwing over and screwing with the rest of the world.
And we're not supposed to see into this, not supposed to understand what games are going on.
Too bad, insider FBI fascists, your stink is on this so bad that we can't see the story of the kid being a terrorist.
All we see, us informed people... is fascists in the FBI trying to create terrorists.
For example, depth of story.
Does anyone remember or know that the ex-head of the east German secret police, the Stasi..the most capable paranoid secret police, as in gestapo type secret police, a man who outfoxed the entire western spy apparatus for what, 25+ years, ..he was brought into the USA, hired to teach the FBI how to do the same to US citizens? That man had turned one out of every six East German citizens into informants for the secret police. Seriously. I'm not kidding. He found ways to inject that much paranoia into the captive, essentially imprisoned east German society.
Are any of you aware of that???
You can see what fruit this has borne.
That man has helped, at the core level, most efficiently turn the FBI into the east German Stasi. The East German secret police was all about controlling a society, not being a group that helps the people, and this is what he has turned the FBI into, slowly becoming an American version of the east German Secret police.
Then you find out that the east German secret police where being run by the Nazi's well after the second world war, thus, right up to modern times!
I KID YOU NOT.
That is the full and actual history of it. the Germans surrendered, but one of the conditions, was that the incredible domestic paranoid fascist spying apparatus The Germans has built, the US allowed the Germans they had in their group of Germans they had their hands on, those Nazis continued to run the east German spy apparatus. which cascaded into the east German Stasi..
and then the OSS, which became the CIA (Dulles brothers, skull and bones, federal reserve banks, and so on), was the one running the Nazi's who where running the east German and eastern Europe spy apparatus,And all the nazi's in the US black ops programs (about 5000+ German scientists who kept their military organization intact when they came here!) and then the infiltration and so on, etc etc.
thus, bringing the Stasi General back into the USA, when the wall went down, was only a case of them, skull and bones, the guys who financed the nazi's via Prescott bush and the federal reserve banks.... bringing back their most experienced people and then injecting them into the FBI, to bring their methods and ways up to speed..to bring about a fully blown paranoid fascist police state... IN THE USA. to complete their game.
All of this is verifiably real and true. Jim Marrs covers all of this, with fully backed data and detail in his books. Specifically this one:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourth_Reich
thus, you've got a complete and full trail of information that takes you from one spot, to another, that puts secret police bomb plotting, to create paranoid fascism and totalitarian regimes of the USA, you've got an evidential trail that puts it right into your house, with no details missing or falsified.

Odd. If the explosives were fake, then there was no danger to the people or property. Is intent a crime?
Reminds me of the minority report and the "precrime" detection unit...
If law enforcement didn't have the ability to stop those whose "intent" had gotten to the point of preparing for the crime, possessing the tools for the crime and actually taking steps to follow through with the crime, then we would have a lot more crimes that are successful than we do now. We were lucky in this case that the potential terrorist was supplied with fake explosives. If he had real explosives, people would have died. His intent was to kill people.
Not all crime prevention where you set up a criminal is entrapment, and entrapment is often not accepted as a defense if the INTENT of the person is proven. Sure, in Minority Report it was taken to an extreme and there are probably many instances were intentions of possible terrorists are encouraged by law enforcement so they can entrap them. But if a person doesn't WANT to do the crime, they couldn't be talked into it in the first place. That's why an entrapment defense doesn't work if the intent of the person can be established beyond a reasonable doubt.
This is not black and white and not all 18 year olds are innocent kids. The FBI is not always bad and terrorists and potential terrorists are not always good, innocent, victimized, etc etc ad nauseum. Terrorists exist whether we want to blame everything on the US and it's policies or not. Terrorists, gangs and criminals have existed as long as men have been on this earth.
Either you fight terrorism, criminals and gangs or you let crime run rampant and then more people will be killed. Get rid of all law enforcement and you will then have to protect yourself from all the bad guys out there, and there are a LOT of bad guys out there who are NOT law enforcement. If you want to look at law enforcement as the bad guys... that's a pretty limited view. It's much more complex than assigning blame to only one group. Governments are unbalanced...true...so what? Life on the physical plane IS unbalanced, people are unbalanced, law enforcement is unbalanced, terrorists, religions, criminals, etc. are all unbalanced. That's the way it is here on planet earth.

I agree with you Nancy. Entirely.
But the context of the situation must also be balanced, regarding analysis of who is who and what is what.
Blind faith does a good job of killing people, enmasse. That innocence and lack of depth of view, lack of truth, and hidden subterfuge has been the biggest enabler of the wholesale slaughter of innocents that mankind has ever seen, throughout all history.
And what I brought to the table is the missing information, regarding being informed of what is lurking in the background.
So I don't take their paranoid infusion into society at face value, and won't 'eat it' with incomplete information about any potential ingredients and without knowing who the chef could be. Not a freaking chance, not for one second. As that chef was a central chef, a new addition...who was brought into the core of the building, to show all associated cooks how to bake a particular 'zen' of cake. (I believe the General has been gone for some time now-deceased)
Thus, the idea of bringing the General in to help the FBI figure out how to deal with, to build an internal spy apparatus, might be, on the surface, might appear to be a good thing. The deal is, lurking in the background... who put him there, where he comes from, what he's taught them, and what the end result of this is, well.....the history of it, the depth of the situation....is simply not good. Not good at all.
Motive, opportunity, skills, placement, history, all the ingredients are in place. History shows that the odds of this being entirely clean and innocent, regarding the General's placement in the core of helping and teaching the FBI his methods, ways, and activities.....are just about zero.
For the connections I mentioned, as a cascade of events and people, are real. the minutiae of the details I bring may not be 100% accurate, but they are so close that those who bother to go out and find the true details would likely find very little error and have little to no argument with the potentials involved.

I agree, Carmody. It's always interesting to know how deep the rabbit hole goes, not that it does US much good. We already know how deep it goes. It is good when others wake up to the fact that so much of our "reality" is manipulated and we are fed lies by those in positions of "power". Realistically speaking, I'm sure that neither of us expects a large percentage of people to ever wake up to how they are being deceived. As long as humans have strong beliefs, they won't want to look for anything to contradict those beliefs and will remain frogs in ever hotter water.

My thought was that the boy was set up from the very beginning. He would not do that if he was not encouraged by FBI agents. It is a sign of thinking along this line: If you lack wolves to justify some freedoms sacrificed to the villagers, you make some village dogs disappear and later make them look like wolves. Thous my comment.
Carmody's remarks triggered a memory of the following story surfacing a year ago (with the apparent happy ending):
FBI Teaches Agents: ‘Mainstream’ Muslims Are ‘Violent, Radical’
September 14, 2011
The FBI is teaching its counterterrorism agents that “main stream” [sic] American Muslims are likely to be terrorist sympathizers; that the Prophet Mohammed was a “cult leader”; and that the Islamic practice of giving charity is no more than a “funding mechanism for combat.”
At the Bureau’s training ground in Quantico, Virginia, agents are shown a chart contending that the more “devout” a Muslim, the more likely he is to be “violent.” Those destructive tendencies cannot be reversed, an FBI instructional presentation adds: “Any war against non-believers is justified” under Muslim law; a “moderating process cannot happen if the Koran continues to be regarded as the unalterable word of Allah.”
The FBI’s Islam Training Documents:

Public outrage followed it resulting some heads falling down and policy changed 5 months later:
FBI Purges Hundreds of Terrorism Documents in Islamophobia Probe
February 15, 2012
An internal FBI investigation into its counterterrorism training has purged hundreds of bureau documents of instructional material about Muslims, some of which characterized them as prone to violence or terrorism.
The bureau disclosed initial findings from its months-long review during a meeting at FBI headquarters on Wednesday with several Arab and Muslim advocacy groups, attended by Director Robert Mueller. So far, the inquiry has uncovered and purged over 700 pages of documentation from approximately 300 presentations given to agents since 9/11 — some of which were similar to briefings published by Danger Room last year describing “mainstream” Muslims as “violent.” And more disclosures may be forthcoming, as the FBI continues its inquiry and responds to Freedom of Information Act requests for the documents themselves.
FBI spokesman Christopher Allen confirms to Danger Room that the bureau found some of the documents to be objectionable because they were inaccurate or over-broad, others because they were offensive. Allen explains that the documents represent “less than 1 percent” of over 160,000 documents reviewed by the inquiry, which was prompted by a Danger Room investigation in September. The FBI purged documents according to four criteria: “factual errors”; “poor taste”; employment of “stereotypes” about Arabs or Muslims; or presenting information that “lacked precision.”

That boy could be a victim of some sicko trying to justify a way agents were trained to hate Muslims... It looks to me like some kind of sick and circular logic... "He is a terrorist because he is a Muslim and all know that Muslims are terrorists". I say no way...
Do you remember "red brigades (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Brigades)" in Europe in 70s and later? Some claim they were created purposefully to instill fear of the communism in people.
Here is a piece describing a "link" between RB and "Muslim terrorists" in USA:
Italy’s Great Anarchist Terror: the Red Brigades Return From the Dead
By Richard Cottrell
June 18, 2012
Being an ancient country, both events and time tend to run around in continuous circles in Italy. To find clues in understanding the current maze of affairs in that country, the best thing to do is organize a fishing expedition into the past. It is amazing how the most complex issues are thus invariably resolved.
For example, take the following burning question, “Is Italy currently laboring under a dictatorship?”
To answer this, we flip back the pages of history to the arrival of Benito Mussolini, back in 1922. The story that he led the march on Rome is, by the way, a hoary old canard. In fact the penniless insurrectionist cadged the train fare from one of his acolytes.
Nonetheless Mussolini’s pledges of nearly a century ago ring a familiar chord in modern Italy. He preached the virtues of a balanced budget, reorganizing the economy, shaking up the labor markets and so forth.
He got himself elevated to power with the votes of the radical, liberal and Catholic parties, since the Blackshirts had little more than a token force of deputies in parliament.
Seems familiar? Well all becomes clear when you simply swap Mario Monti for Benito Mussolini.
The forces behind Monti obviously boned up on their history books and staged a legalized putsch more or less identical to Mussolini’s, replete with the same promises to clean up the kitchen. The king waved the rising dictator to power. This time around President Giorgio Napolitano kindly obliged on behalf of the new globalist techno-premier. Not being himself short of the readies, Monti obligingly paid his own train fare.
Parliament is reduced to a cipher, little more than a talking shop equipped with an automatic rubber stamp. It will stay that way until the scheduled elections due next spring. The idea is that a new institutionalized force cleaving rather close to a right-wing institutional ‘popular’ force, similar in structure and aims to Mussolini’s popolari (minus the black shirts), will dominate the new parliament.
So, by using this rather simple but elegant analytical tool, we not only gain a better education on current affairs but also important insights into the future. I find that it works for any country, or a given set of circumstances. But Italy is the topic here, for important reasons that I now reveal.
I posted recently on the horrid affair of the schoolyard bombing in Brindisi. This terrible business should be viewed in the same frame as the wave of arrests presently sweeping the country, an enormous round-up of purported ‘anarchists’ bent on anti-establishment acts of violence.
The targets are the alleged members of a shadowy outfit calling itself (or, alternatively, labeled) the Informal Anarchist Federation (FAI), and a sister cellular organization of similar stripe, the International Revolutionary Front. Between them they are held responsible for attacks both inside Italy and abroad on targets that seem to fit the standard bill of routine anti-establishment violence.
(...)
Editor’s note: of course this is exactly what happens in the United States as well with the planting of informants and provocateurs that actually push people to engage in activities they otherwise would not have through encouragement and providing them the resources they need to carry out fake plots.
This is the standard ploy, that worst-kept secret responsible for much of the horror in the course of the long-running republican rebellion in Northern Ireland (aka Ulster). British military intelligence and the home security agencies steered a good deal of the violence committed by both republican and loyalist paramilitaries. Of course state secrets privilege prevent us from knowing the cold hard truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, but having had some experience of reporting the Irish war at first hand, I’d say that very little factual information concerning state co-ordination of Irish terrorism is so far in the public realm. Most of it we will never know in any event.
These are important observations that form the background to the Great Anarchist Terror now shaking Italy and, if we are to believe it, Greece as well. Is it any co-incidence that both countries recently experienced the usurpation of their democratic constitutions by the globalista and, as a consequence, now find themselves ground under the heels of the robber barons?
I think not, for the following reasons. In the 1970s and 80s the fear of communist urban guerillas stalked Europe. This was the bogeyman to drive voters to the open arms of safe, Right-wing governments.
The bomb and the bullet were the agencies of fear then, and they have returned once again. Fear needs a driver, so now it is maddened anarchists huddling in dark cellars planning to destruct civilization as we know it. A police raid on the home of one suspect usefully yielded a training manual entitled, “To each his own; 1000 ways to sabotage this world.”
It’s true that the trawlers have caught lots of little fish wriggling in the nets of the anti-terrorist organizations. These are so obviously small fry it seems unreasonable to magnify their importance. But of course their existence is a necessary requirement to convene and dramatize the mirage of rampant anarchist felons on the loose.
It sounds about as useful and effective as dunking witches in the village pond. But if we remember the pre-Soviet use of the medieval ducking stool as a form of repentance-confessional was intended to maintain the discipline of the church and the feudal lordships. What is so striking in this context is the similarity between witch-baiting of yore and the ‘enemy within’ culture of the anni di piombo, namely reds under the bed and now the great utterly fictional anarchist fright.
If George Orwell were alive today, he would doubtless ask a variation on the question that he famously once posed of communism back in the 1930s. Namely, what exactly do anarchists stand for? In the Belle Époque of the late 19th century they threw their bombs at the bourgeoisie and noted captains of the state. That got them precisely nowhere. It was anarchism itself that in the end died the death. And to cap it all, much of the mayhem was accountable to false flag attacks carried out by state agents.
But the lasting profit fell to governments which used the atrocities to deflect reforms, strengthen rentier-capitalism (to the lasting benefit of the established classes, of course), construct great war machines and justify territorial conquest and expansion.
What is so very different in all of that compared to what we see round us today?
The fabricated anarchist scale has arisen in two countries, Italy and Greece, which are acutely exposed to the great austerity rip-off organized by Wall Street. My educated guess is that the virus will miraculously travel to wherever there is resistance to the austerity bulldozer (Spain, Portugal, and Ireland) and the sprawling omnivorous state-throttling octopus called the EU.
Moreover I expect the scale of violence to increase, possibly to startling proportions – perhaps even reflecting the Bologna station massacre of 1980.
In the UK, David Cameron brazenly deployed the anarchist menace as the source of huge protests against his government’s deeply unpopular austerity policies.
