No wonder they need religion, Jews/ Muslims ect. don't cremate their dead.
No wonder they don't care about over population.
I don't know if I want to be pumped into someone's gas guzzling jeep in another few billions of years.

Very interesting theory ;) Takeing the fact of obesity epidemy in the usa it may be even sound. But most of that oil will go to Chinese people, India and other "poor" countries not the usa ;) Besides why you worry what will happen to your broken body after thousands of years? Some of the atoms may end up in the Sun, Moon or even beyond solar system. Some may even made to a more unpleasent place than gas guzzler tank. And why you assume there will be any gas guzzler after thousand years? If we don't implement free energy technology in near future we will quickly run out of energy and join the club of collapsed civilizations.
Cheer up :)

Maybe they're planning on converting the fat into biodiesel?

Only after mandatory liposuction. You know. If flu shots can be made mandatory under the gun barrel so liposuction can ;)
You may be onto something people. Have found some "old" news from 2008.
Don't know if it is real or fake news but here it is:
Patients sue U.S. doctor for converting their "lipo-sucked" fat to fuel
California, United States, December 25
In their efforts towards contributing towards a green footprint to the planet, some people go extreme, as in the case of Dr Alan Bittner.
A well-known cosmetic surgeon in the upscale Beverly Hills, Dr Alan Bittner asserts that he powers his 4WD by the fat removed from clients through liposuction.
He also claims that he lets his patient know about this scheme and the patients, in turn, are happy to know their contribution to this 'environment-friendly' campaign.
The doctor commented that: "The vast majority of my patients request that I use their fat for fuel - and I have more fat than I can use. Not only do they get to lose their love handles or chubby belly, but they get to take part in saving the Earth."
However, his extraordinary campaign does not seem to have impressed the U.S. authorities as they have already initiated a probe into his claims of using the "lipo-diesel" to generate power. He claims that it is equivalent to bio-diesel.
The doctor's website named 'lipodiesel.com' lists his claims, whose popularity suffered a deep plunge after the authorities ordered closure of his cosmetic clinic located on Rodeo Drive.
After some of his patients filed a lawsuit against him, stating that most of the procedures are conducted by his girlfriend who does not even have a medical license, the doctor has moved to South America.
He is believed to fuel his Ford Explorer and his girlfriend's Lincoln Navigator with this "lipofuel", states Forbes, the leading U.S. business magazine.
Bio-diesel is commonly made from vegetable oils, though half of the U.S. supply comes from beef or pig products. Animal and vegetable fat contains triglycerides that can be extracted and turned into diesel.
However, the doctor’s modus-operandi of converting fat to fuel still remains unknown even as he claims having done more than 7000 liposuction surgeries till date.
In the United States, it is illegal to use human waste to generate fuel and power the vehicles. Forbes quotes that usually a liter of fat will produce about a liter of fuel with same mileage as compared to the normal diesel.
The public health department of California is investigating the case and it is believed that the doctor's lawyer is not answering any calls to issue comments on the case.
Forbes says that the doctor allowed his girlfriend and an assistant to perform surgeries while none of them had a valid medical practice license. Andrew Besser, a lawyer representing three patients of Dr Bittner, alleged that the duo extracted too much fat from these patients and disfigured them.
The official clinic website of Dr Bittner says that patients are offered an advanced type of liposuction named liposculpture, which "allows patients to remain awake and comfortable while his team sculpts and contours their body."

It appeared in Huff also. But question remains. Real or fake?

Gotta give something back. If you're cremated after 3 days, you become the dust, I imagine some of the bodies will oil the plates of the planet to prevent such jarring earthquakes.
A little lube will do ya.

Robert there was a programme on here (UK) Sunday night where a TV presenter and designer (Kevin McCloud) is building a retreat for himself in the countryside (essentially a shed) but he went into the London sewers to harvest some fat (apparently so much fat is thrown away that they form what he called 'fatbergs' in the sewers and there are people employed to hose them away) to make biodiesel for his paraffin lamp (his shed is off the grid, no gas or electric). Apparently fat is such a lucrative business nowadays that criminals are breaking into takeaways to steal the stuff.:p
