Sometimes we don't give the world credit for moving on or "waking up" at all, simply because we don't notice that it's happening. For people who read the "Mayan Factor" in 1989, went to see David Icke speak in a telephone box and waited patiently for "3 days of darkness" in 1997, it's all a bit like watching paint dry.
However, when I think back to those days, some of the stuff that's happened since then would have been simply unthinkable.
For example, the whole 2012 thing and the idea that ancients had their heads screwed on simply wasn't on anyone's radar back then - now it's mainstream Holywood stuff.
9/11 inside job theories are casual dinner table conversation for many who would have "tin foil hatted" you 5-10 years ago.
One such recent development that I actually think is quite major, is the outing of Jimmy Savile and his alleged unsavoury antics with kids. Some people have been talking about this for years and getting similar treatment to 9/11 truthers (not quite but almost) on a smaller scale. Suddenly, it's open season on the guy, including nothing short of a full blown 1 hour documentary on national TV cataloging 40 years of allegations and 1st hand witness statements.
The thing is, this guy was as plugged into the establishment as you could get for a pop celebrity - politicians, Royal family, you name it.
I can't help seeing this as a major brick in the wall that's just caved. He's about to fall big time but a lot of establishment symbols will take a hit in his wake - not least the BBC (for providing him with a conveyor belt of young kids plus shelter for him to operate). Another big symbol I see possibly falling in the hole are childrens charities - thats what made him "untouchable" according to many of his contemporaries. Following closely on are journalists and politicians who woo'd the guy and sang his praises.
Apologies to non-UK readers who probably are wondering "what the h. is he talking about" - he was probably not very well known abroad. For more info see here . . .

Finally: For an idea of how recently it was frowned upon to make these suggestions, check this thread on the Icke forum from back in 2009. The guy that started it immediately ran into obstructions even on a so called "woken up" environment such as that one. http://www.davidicke.com/forum/showthread.php?t=55339
I think we've actually come quite far since the eightees in terms of consciousness. The thing is, the more you wake up, probably the more corruption and "wrong things" you notice, so it has the effect of making you feel like nothing's changing.
But in fact, on an absolute scale, they may well be.
