I LIKE SPROUTS, they are juicy, fresh full of life and amazing.
WHY, its cheap, better then cooking your food beyond all recognition and kill it, seeds store compact and will grow multiple times their own size and weight, and its EEEEASY.
What is a seed in this context, everything that lives in a hull and can be purchased dried and in a bag, you now, like your grandma did in the old days.
brown beans, white beans, brown rice, chickpeas, alfalfa, lentils in all shapes and sizes, corn, wheat, mungbeans, adzukibeans, all of these and then some you can sprout, using nothing but a jar with some holes in them for drainage, a bag, some fancy sprouting gear is also available but not a requirement at all, just a jar or a few of them will do just fine.
In the lid are some lentils ( about two tablespoons) that is the before picture if you will. Next to it is a jarlid i poked some holes in for drainage and that works just fine.
In the bowl is the result of five days of sprouting( about a day too long, i forgot they were in their jar, how cruel of me).
So, get sprouting i say, on that very small countertop you see, let me count.......ok 9 bags of beans, wheat, lentils, peas and what not this costs about 15 bucks............. when sprouted these nine bags will fill up your bathtub about 6 times completely...........with 1th grade healthy food. So sprout.

You are most welcome, when you have some dried stuff in your kitchen cabinet and a jar with a lid on it, you can get started right away, it will make your sandwiches, your salad, your soup, juicer or mouth happy just straight out of the jar, its really fun and sooperdooper easy to do, fresh food all year round and whatever you want, line up some jars start 1 on day day 1 start the second on day 2 andso on and you have fresh healthy greens every day, it allmost to cheap to believe once you see what you can do with this. Mixing the seeds is great too, yummy, nomnomnom

1... Jar
2... Holes or screen in/on lid of jar
18609
3...A seed, bean, whatever, does not matter as long as edible, google seeds and sprout and see for yourself what you can come up with.
4... A few scoops of your preffered dried whatever 2 should do it, tablespoon.
5...Add water 2/3 or just fill up the jar.
6...Soak and absorb for 8 to 12 hours. Keep out of direct sunlight preferably for the coming days, daylight ok, burning sun, bad.
7...Drain dirty water out and rinse, drain out the water WELL, do this twice a day, morning/evening before you go to bed.
8...Rinse, and drain as in step 7, do this for two to three more days, you should have plenty of sprouts now.
9...Bon Apetit madame/monsieur.
10... Congratulations, you are an indoor all season farmer now.
11... Enjoy your sprouting.
Regards

can you sprout quinoia ?? can you juice sprouts or is that overkill ?

Very small grains, like quinoa, don't require that long of a soaking.
A couple hours should be plenty.
I juice sprouts all the time.
Mung beans are my favorite.
I have TMJ and difficulty with chewing, so juicing is a great alternative.
It's good to see this thread here!
Sprouting is the best way I know of to get way more bang for your buck.
The nutritional value of foods is greatly enhanced by sprouting, up to hundreds of times.
In 1975 my live foods mentor, Viktoras Kulvinskas, showed how you can live healthfully on very little money by sprouting foods in his landmark book, Survival into the 21st Century.
He is in his 70s and is still going strong...

Onawah says you can and its not overkill when its fits in your juicer you can squeeze it dry and drink its physical remains.
Thanks Onawah
( sorry to disturb you conversation) please continue its your healthy thread too.

I ordered and now use a Sproutman Sprouter (about $12 on Amazon) and was pleasantly amazed at how easy it was to produce sprouts.
The best part about it is that it uses a LOT LESS WATER than the jar method. Something to consider.
Peace Love Joy & Harmony,
