I'm in central MA...it was a 4.6 quake - 5kmW of Hollis Center, Maine (near Portland) - 5km deep

Haven't had a shaker like that here in years...moved side to side...weird.

We had an earthquake of the same magnitude in Quebec last week, near Montreal. The Eastern plate seems to be moving. Not usual for us either to have earthquakes.

Me and my neighbors ended up looking at each other in our door windows at 12:20 PM, the earthquake having woke us up.

I spoke to a friend who lives in Hollis - her house is a mess and two of her cats have disappeared. I live about 40 miles away on the New Hampshire coast and this was the strongest earthquake I have felt in my 25 years in New England.

I felt a 5.0 back in sept 2011 here in oklahoma, I was born and raised here, we never have earthquakes like that. The entire globe is shaking , the suns active and people forget we are passing into a magnetic ribbon that is exciting everything around us. The uptick is on the way, the ocean floor is sinking and a new plate is forming.

OMG - we're done for, we're DONE for!

On the other hand, just normal planetary seismic activity...?

I work in York County Maine where it happened and live on the boarder in NH. On the 16th at 7:14 I felt it in my livingroom so strong I looked at my fiance and said earthquake and by the time we were on the front stairs it was over. We were quick to react (im so proud of myself).
Virgo and newparadigmguy, sounds like we are all neighbors.
It was a 4.0 (origionally reported as a 4.6) located around the limington ME area.
Interesting to go through.
