Some storms converge and are absorbed by each other, becoming weaker, La Corte said. But if these two marry in the atmosphere, there would be widespread bad weather, a potentially historic storm, he said.
[B]"We can't find a time that this has happened before," he said.

The logic in these reports is all over the place, particularly in the above segment. It basically says, storms are known to cancel each other out. But if these two were to do the exact opposite, it would be pretty nasty. Well, true enough, pretty nasty is the opposite of pretty harmless. Then it says this worst-case scenario has not been seen before and so we're relying on models. Why not rely on experience and expect something pretty harmless as being the likelier scenario. The modeller admits to his model's "overdoing" things, but instead of compensating for that, he overdoes it himself. Having noted his weird use of the words "exciting" and "nicely", the reverse of common usage, I would tend to apply the same pinch of salt to his use of "something wicked". The healthy thing to do is to hope this turns out not too badly so that maybe it won't.

Hi sleepy. Living in Florida, every hurricane season we are deluged with dire predictions, and computer models. From much experience here, computer models are often times full of crap. (LOL) Even having said that, right now is the end of the traditional second peak of hurricane season. If there is going to be a threatening storm to the U.S. during this time, it will form either in the Caribbean, or Gulf of Mexico. These late season storms invariably interact with diving troughs of low pressure, which in layman's terms means cold fronts, as winter is coming on. They always then travel north, or northeast.

The main thoughts I've had about our new friend Sandy, living here on Florida's west coast, is that I'm relieved she didn't form a couple of hundred miles to the west, and then move north, which is actually more typical. Sometimes bad storms do happen, just like every other bad thing that can happen, but by and large stuff like this is just more of the same fear based mind control programming, that we have all come to know and love so much. (Sigh)

Three storms threaten to strike U.S. at once…. An "Arctic Express," a mass of cold air chugging south from Alaska and Canada, bringing frigid air and potentially heavy snow and ice to the usually mild-wintered Pacific Northwest.
• An unnamed warm, moist storm system from the Gulf of Mexico drenching the already-saturated Ohio, Tennessee and Mississippi valleys. Expect heavy river flooding and springlike tornadoes.
Meteorologists caution that their predictions are only as good as their computer models. And forecasts are less accurate the further into the future they attempt to predict. "The models tend to overdo the formation of these really exciting weather formations for us," said Mike Wallace, a University of Washington atmospheric scientist.
Yet the more Wallace studied the models, the more he became convinced that something wicked was coming this way.
"It all fits together nicely," he said. "There's going to be weather in the headlines this weekend, that's for sure." …The Seattle Times

While I can’t speak for the logic of those reportring on the storms, similar storms have converged before and that is where the name the perfect storm comes from.

The weather man says he doesn't know of a precedent, but you do - this means he is even more incompetent than we perhaps thought. Why listen to anything he has to say?

I maintain that mass fear has a negative incidence on the weather, and vice versa. Let's just see how much we can do to help.

Alright, here's the latest article on Comcast's site, about the Utilities gearing up for the storm:

http://xfinity.comcast.net/articles/news-national/20121025/US.Super.Storm.Power/?cid=hero_media_phillyitn

Now, a few days ago, Monday I believe, I was traveling down a highway, Rt 1 in Lawrenceville/Princeton area, and I passed a flatbed truck, which appeared to me, to be transporting at least over a dozen electrical transformers of various sizes. I was going to say something that day, but thought, nah, I don't want to cry wolf when there was no wolf. I'm no electrician and I wasn't even sure of what I was looking at. But now, with this oncoming, Stormageddon, it makes more sense that someone, somewhere is stocking up on transformers.

Weird...

http://nz.news.yahoo.com/a/-/world/15221310/us-forecasters-warn-about-frankenstorm/

US forecasters are predicting a "frankenstorm", a monster combination of high wind, heavy rain, extreme tides and maybe snow that could cause havoc along the East Coast just before Halloween.

Hurricane Sandy, having blown through Haiti and Cuba on Thursday, continues to barrel north. A wintry storm is chugging across from the west. And frigid air is streaming south from Canada.

And if they meet on Tuesday morning around New York or New Jersey, as forecasters predict, they could create a big wet mess that settles over the nation's most heavily populated corridor, reaching as far inland as Ohio.

With experts expecting at least $US1 billion ($A970.45 million) in damage, the people who will have to clean it up are not waiting.

Utilities are lining up out-of-state work crews and cancelling employees' days off. From county disaster chiefs to the federal government, emergency officials are warning the public to be prepared. And President Barack Obama was briefed aboard Air Force One.

"It's looking like a very serious storm that could be historic," said Jeff Masters, meteorology director of the forecasting service Weather Underground. "Mother Nature is not saying trick-or-treat. It's just going to give tricks."

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration forecaster Jim Cisco, who coined the nickname "Frankenstorm", said: "We don't have many modern precedents for what the models are suggesting."

Government forecasters said there was a 90 per cent chance - up from 60 per cent two days earlier - that the east would get pounded from Sunday to Wednesday. Things are expected to get messier once Sandy, a late hurricane in what has been a remarkably quiet season, comes ashore, probably in New Jersey.

Coastal areas from Florida to Maine will feel some effects, but the storm is expected to vent the worst of its fury on New Jersey and the New York City area, which could see around 12 centimetres of rain and gale-force winds close to 65km/h. Eastern Ohio, southwestern Pennsylvania, western Virginia and the Shenandoah Mountains could get snow.

Some have compared the tempest to the so-called perfect storm that struck off the coast of New England in 1991, but that one didn't hit as populated an area. Nor is this one like last year's Halloween storm, which was merely an early snowfall.

"The perfect storm only did $US200 million of damage and I'm thinking a billion," Masters said. "Yeah, it will be worse."

As it made its way across the Caribbean, Sandy was blamed for at least four deaths in Haiti and Jamaica. The 18th named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season hit the Bahamas after cutting across Cuba, where it tore roofs off homes and damaged fragile coffee and tomato crops.

the reason the weather forcasters never get it right, the weather is controlled, not naturally occuring. Notice hurricanes for years take basically the same track on a globe that is tilted and spins and has a jet stream with moisture and sun rays heating and expanding land not to mention smog from factories, cars, and such, still the big storms always go right down the alley knocking down the same pins.

The H.A.A.R.P. project is heating-up the atmosphere directly over the tri-state area where this 'Perfect Storm' is forecast to hit.

Does this appear to be a coincidence to any of the members?

Please Note:

This link takes you to a 'real time' monitor. At the time of this writing, the entire tri-state area of the Northeast Corridor was the darkest color red. This condition may change as time goes-on. If, when you view the monitor, there is a difference, it is because the conditions have changed.

East Coast braces for 'Frankenstorm' monster
Meteorologists expect a natural horror show

Updated: Friday, 26 Oct 2012, 2:01 PM EDT
Published : Friday, 26 Oct 2012, 7:08 AM EDT

SETH BORENSTEIN,AP Science Writer

WASHINGTON (AP) — When Hurricane Sandy becomes a hybrid weather monster some call "Frankenstorm" it will smack the East Coast harder and wider than last year's damaging Irene, forecasters said Friday.

The brunt of the weather mayhem will be concentrated where the hurricane comes ashore early Tuesday, but there will be hundreds of miles of steady, strong and damaging winds and rain for the entire Eastern region for several days, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

The hurricane has killed at least 20 people in the Caribbean, and just left the Bahamas. It is expected to move north, just off the Eastern Seaboard.

As of Friday morning, federal forecasters were looking closer at the Delaware shore as the spot it will turn inland and merge with a wintry storm front. But there is a lot of room for error in the forecast and the storm could turn into shore closer to New York and New Jersey and bring the worst weather there.

Wherever Sandy comes ashore will get 10 inches of rain and extreme storm surges, Louis Uccellini, NOAA's environmental prediction director, said in a Friday news conference. Other areas not directly on Sandy's entry path will still get 4 to 8 inches of rain, maybe more, he said. Up to 2 feet of snow should fall on West Virginia, with lighter snow in parts of Ohio and Pennsylvania, regardless of where Sandy first hits.

A wide swath of the East, measuring several hundreds of miles, will get persistent gale-force winds in the 50 mph area, with some areas closer to storm landfall getting closer to 70 mph, said James Franklin, forecast chief for the National Hurricane Center.

"It's going to be a long-lasting event, two to three days of impact for a lot of people," Franklin said. "Wind damage, widespread power outages, heavy rainfall, inland flooding and somebody is going to get a significant surge event."

That storm surge will only be magnified by the full moon this weekend to make it a "dangerous period," Uccellini said.

Last year's Hurricane Irene was a minimal hurricane that caused widespread damage as it moved north along the coast after making landfall in North Carolina. With catastrophic inland flooding in New Jersey, Massachusetts and Vermont, federal officials say Irene caused $15.8 billion in damage.

Sandy is "looking like a very serious storm that could be historic," said Jeff Masters, meteorology director of the forecasting service Weather Underground. "Mother Nature is not saying, 'Trick or treat.' It's just going to give tricks."

Government forecasters said there is a 90 percent chance — up from 60 percent two days earlier — that the East will get pounded.

Utilities are lining up out-of-state work crews and canceling employees' days off to deal with expected power outages. From county disaster chiefs to the federal government, emergency officials are warning the public to be prepared. And President Barack Obama was briefed aboard Air Force One.

Boat owners were yanking their vessels out of the water Friday at the Southside Marina in Point Pleasant Beach, N.J., about 60 miles south of New York City.

"We're taking them out as fast as we can," said marina employee Jim Martin.

Atlantic City's casinos made contingency plans in case they have to close, as they did for three days last year when Tropical Storm Irene approached.

Eastern states that saw outages that lasted for days after last year's freak Halloween snowstorm and Hurricane Irene are already pressuring power companies to be more ready this time.

Asked if he expected utilities to be more prepared, Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick responded: "They'd better be."

Jersey Central Power & Light, which was criticized for its response to Irene, notified employees to be ready for extended shifts. In Pennsylvania, PPL Corp. spokesman Michael Wood said, "We're in a much better place this year."

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg on Thursday said the city was striking a tone of calm preparedness.

"What we are doing is we are taking the kind of precautions you should expect us to do, and I don't think anyone should panic," Bloomberg said. The city has opened an emergency situation room and activated its coastal storm plan.

Some have compared the tempest to the so-called Perfect Storm that struck off the coast of New England in 1991, but that one hit a less populated area. Nor is this one like last year's Halloween storm, which was merely an early snowfall.

"The Perfect Storm only did $200 million of damage and I'm thinking a billion" this time, Masters said. "Yeah, it will be worse."

Nutter asked residents in the following neighborhoods to start taking action now to be as safe as possible:

Eastwick and parts of Cobbs Creek

Delaware Avenue
Pennypack and areas surrounding Pennypack Creek

"Record flooding around the Delaware River is likely," Nutter said. "If your home has flooded before, expect it to flood again"

The mayor warned that flooding of all the area rivers, streams and creeks is likely and so are power outages. PECO's Storm Center was activated on Thursday and several hundred additional employees are in place this weekend for emergency response.

The city's 311 call center remains open around the clock and city leaders will decide on Saturday whether to open two shelters: West Philly High School and Roxborough High School.

Evacuation Orders Issued in Parts of NJ
Voluntary evacuation orders were given for some Jersey Shore towns on Friday

The first evacuation orders have been issued along the Jersey Shore in advance of Hurricane Sandy.

The Cape May County Emergency Management office issued the orders for Friday and Saturday for barrier islands. The evacuation orders will become mandatory on Sunday.

Voluntary evacuation orders are also being given in Mantoloking, Ocean County.

Hurricane Sandy is expected to make landfall early Tuesday, but the impact could be felt as early as Sunday. Strong winds and heavy rain could cause record flooding along our coastline.

NBC10 Chief Meteorologist Glenn "Hurricane" Schwartz says Sandy could bring more hours of rain and wind than we saw with Hurricane Floyd or Irene.

Due to this impending threat, the Camden City Public School District announced on Friday that all schools will be closed on Monday and Tuesday because of Sandy.

CNN mentions the "Perfect Storm":

Northeast in crosshairs of 'superstorm' Sandy
By Mariano Castillo and Ben Brumfield, CNN
October 27, 2012 -- Updated 0430 GMT (1230 HKT)

(CNN) -- No one hopes Hurricane Sandy lives up to its potential.

The storm that has already claimed nearly two dozen lives in the Caribbean churned Friday near the northern Bahamas, and meteorologists warn that it packs the potential to slam the U.S. Northeast as soon as Monday with powerful winds and pelting rain.

Worst case, Sandy could merge with a strong cold front from the west. The double threat could morph into a "superstorm" that could sit over New England for days, making untold trouble for millions of residents. Weather experts said it's a recipe not unlike 1991's "Perfect Storm."

"Expect it to move very slowly," said James Franklin of the National Hurricane Center. "The large size of the system and its slow motion will mean a long-lasting event with two to three days of impacts."

At 8 p.m. ET Friday, forecasters said Sandy was about 400 miles south-southeast of Charleston, South Carolina, heading north at 7 mph. It was a Category 1 hurricane with winds of 75 mph. It's possible, the hurricane center says, that Sandy may weaken to a tropical storm. Nonetheless, experts said, it's not to be taken lightly.

Keep a hurricane preparation checklist
Hurricane Sandy 'storm of a lifetime'
Hurricane Sandy hits Jamaica

"Forget about the category with this," said CNN meteorologist Rob Marciano. "When you have trees with leaves on them still, this kind of wind and rain on top of that, you're talking about trees that are going to come down, power lines are going to be out and the coastal flooding situation is going to be huge."

Sandy's death toll in Haiti, Jamaica and Cuba this week was 21 people.

The U.S. target area is hard to predict at this point. Some landfall computer models show the storm striking somewhere between the border separating North Carolina and Virginia north to Connecticut, some of the most densely populated areas of the country. The District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and New York have declared states of emergency, while Maine's governor signed a limited emergency declaration.

The National Hurricane Center reported tropical storm watches and warnings were in effect, covering parts of the Florida and Carolina coasts.

With a national election already under way in many early-voting states, Sandy's wrath could have a ripple effect on politics.

In Virginia Beach, a campaign rally scheduled for Sunday for GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney was canceled because of Sandy. There was no word yet on the status of other events scheduled later in the week. "We're keeping an eye on it," said a senior campaign adviser.

How Sandy was dubbed 'Frankenstorm'

Similarly, Vice President Joe Biden canceled his visit to Virginia Beach on Saturday, "out of an abundance of caution to ensure that all local law enforcement and emergency management resources can stay focused on ensuring the safety of people who might be impacted by the storm," according to the campaign of President Barack Obama.

Bad weather in Maryland or Washington, D.C., could make it harder for people to get out and cast their ballots. Early voting kicked off Monday in Washington and is scheduled to start Saturday in Maryland. But Friday, Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley warned that his state's early voting could be affected by the pending storm, leaving open the possibility that the vote could be rescheduled, or relocated.

U.S. residents in Sandy's path, forecasters said, should prepare for the possibility of several days without power.

"There is potential for widespread power outages, not just for a couple of days but for a couple of weeks or more, if the storm stays on track," said meteorologist Kathy Orr of CNN affiliate KYW-TV in Philadelphia. The computer weather predictions are murky, but by Friday afternoon, it seemed unlikely the storm would bring freezing rain or snow to the coast. Snow is possible in mountain areas, including the Appalachians.

Sandy could be a storm "of historic proportion," Orr warned, and the City of Brotherly Love could take a direct hit.

In New York, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority is studying whether it should suspend all or some service ahead of the storm, according to Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

In Maryland, the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company expects that several hundred thousand customers could be affected, as early as Sunday.

"This could be like the 'Perfect Storm' 21 years ago," said CNN meteorologist Chad Myers.

A combination of three weather systems produced the famed "Perfect Storm" in the north Atlantic over Halloween 1991, when moisture flung north by Hurricane Grace combined with a high pressure system and a cold front, according to the weather service.

Hurricane safety: When the lights go out

The current weather conditions are not exactly the same as what produced the tempest. Although Grace contributed significantly to the storm, it did not progress to New England and did not make landfall, weather records show.

On Friday, residents in South Jersey were already stocking up on batteries and bottled water, and hardware stores have put up preparedness displays, KYW reported. One location quickly sold out of electric generators.

"This is the worst timing for a storm," Newark Mayor Cory Booker told CNN's Soledad O'Brien. "You have fall ending, a lot of loose branches.

"The storm itself will be bad, but I worry about the aftermath, people being caught without power."

Along the Jersey shore, storm preparations included bulldozers shoring up piers with mounds of sand. Worried residents filled sandbags in case of flooding.

'Superstorm' meets barnstorm as weather and politics collide

"We will be piling up as much sand as possible along the beachfront," said Frank Ricciotti, Margate, New Jersey, public works director. "I think the water damage is worse than another type of damage, and the hardest thing is to stop water, once it starts coming up."

Farther south, in the Norfolk, Virginia, area, more than two dozen ships were being sent to sea for their own protection.

Strong winds whipped Florida, where CNN iReporter Simon Davis shot video of an overcast Melbourne Beach.

"I was surprised at just how intense it was for a storm so far off the coast. I was thinking, wow and this is going north? Scary," he wrote.

Miami International Airport on Friday canceled more than 20 flights to or from Jamaica or Bahamas, CNN affiliate WSVN reported. Nearby Fort Lauderdale airport canceled 13 flights to the islands.

News for Eastern NC:

SANDY STRENGTHENS: Hurricane Approaching Eastern Carolina

Posted: Mon 5:36 PM, Oct 22, 2012
A A
Reporter: The Weather Authority
Updated: Sat 6:11 PM, Oct 27, 2012

A state of emergency has been declared for Eastern Carolina as Hurricane Sandy approaches and the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Ferry Division has suspended operations on the Hatteras Inlet route due to high water over N.C.12 in Hatteras. Additionally, all other Sound operations have been suspended due to Sandy. The last ferry left Ocracoke at 2pm.

Governor Beverly Perdue says the declaration for 33 eastern counties began Saturday.

“While landfall is not expected in North Carolina, this is a very large storm and its effects will be felt for several days along our coastal and sound counties," said Doug Hoell, state emergency management director. "Residents in eastern North Carolina should monitor the weather closely and get their emergency supplies kits ready.”

The counties in the emergency declaration are: Beaufort, Bertie, Bladen, Brunswick, Camden, Carteret, Chowan, Columbus, Craven, Cumberland, Currituck, Dare, Duplin, Edgecombe, Dare, Gates, Greene, Halifax, Harnett, Hertford, Hoke, Hyde, Johnston, Jones, Lenoir, Martin, Nash, New Hanover, Onslow, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Pender, Perquimans, Pitt, Robeson, Sampson, Tyrrell, Washington, Wayne.

Thus far, minor flooding has been reported in the Willmington area causing some road closures and water levels have risen in Newport by 2-3 feet. Storm force winds up to 60mph have also been reported by the off shore buoys near Willmington. Additionaly, Adams Creek near Merrimon is reporting a two foot rise in water level.

The state's emergency operations center was activated this morning. Seventy-five National Guard soldiers have been repositioned to respond if needed.

Active Advisories
Tropical Storm Warning:
Dare, Beaufort, Hyde, Craven, Pamlico, Carteret and Onslow county
Flood Watch:
Beaufort, Carteret, Craven, Jones, Dare, Hyde, Onslow, Pamlico, Tyrrell and Washington county

A tropical storm warning means winds are expected to reach 39-73 mph within the next 36 hours.

Rainfall totals east of Highway 17 could be 4-6", with some locations 8", while west of Highway 17 to I-95 could receive 2-3", with some locations getting up to 5". Additionally, an isolated tornado could be possible with this system, but the threat is very low.

The latest update from the National Hurricane Center has indicated Sandy has weakened. Hurricane Sandy could lash the coast with up to five inches of rain and winds of 30 to 50 miles per hour as it tracks north along the U.S. coast tonight in to Sunday.

The main flooding threat will be on the southern end of the Pamlico Sound and east facing beaches north of Cape Lookout, shifting to the sound side of the Outer Banks on Monday. Sea swells have started their rise, going from 4-8 ft. Thursday to 14-19 ft. by Sunday morning.

The National Weather Service office in Newport said Friday the threat to eastern North Carolina will be limited if predictions hold that the storm will stay well offshore.

National Weather Service senior forecaster Brien Cullen says some areas could see moderate coastal flooding of up to four feet, spelling trouble for any waterside homes still not raised onto stilts.

At 5 p.m. Saturday, the storm was located at 30.2 N, 75.2 W, about 325 miles south of the Crystal Coast. The storm was moving NE at 13 mph. The sustained winds were at 75 mph.

The National Hurricane Center recently updated the forecast track for Hurricane Sandy, which has the storm moving just passed the Carolina coast. Sandy made landfall in the Bahamas early Thursday morning, with sustained winds around 105 miles per hour.

The storm will track northward tonight, continuing its path up the eastern seaboard. It is then expected to track 100 to 200 miles off the east coast late in the weekend into early next week.

The current track would keep Sandy off our coastline on Sunday. Although the center of the storm should stay offshore, coastal North Carolina will likely see some moderate showers Saturday evening and Sunday, along with a stiff northeast breeze at 30 to 50 mph.

The storm should move northward past Elizabeth City Monday evening before veering left and making landfall in the New Jersey area Tuesday afternoon.

Let me try and explain it another way . Many people are so afraid of dying :scared:, that they stop living.:bathbaby:

There is a story of an old Indian that laid down in his teepee and wondered what it was like to die.
After a short while, after he imagined what it was like to die, he stood up and said
"Ok, I have experienced what it is like to die, so now I can get on with living.

A storm chaser discusses the strength of Sandy

Dennis Leahy
28th October 2012, 04:34
Anyone interested in trying a bit of metaphysics on this?

Hey, why not, what the hell, right? Probably some among us have more advanced (less foggy?) metaphysical capabilities than we suspect, so one of you might just surprise all of us.

I know, I know, those who think metaphysics is balderdash can say "if the storm turns east, you'll say you did it; if it turns west, you'll say not enough tried hard enough." There, we got that out of the way. :p Now, back to the people willing to give it a try:

My guess is, that it is rather difficult to move a mountain, or even a boulder, or even a pebble, using metaphysical energy. Probably a lot easier moving things that are more ethereal, and that have a higher energy (think jiu-jitsu.)

If you feel like trying, then visualize, with intent, the eye moving off to the east, calming its rotation, relaxing, winding down, destabilizing, breaking apart, disintegrating.

If, at any point, it does turn west...

A turn toward the north is forecast Sunday night followed by a turn toward the north-northwest Monday. This turn back to the north-northwest will bring the eye of the storm into the United States Monday night or early Tuesday.
A turn like this, back to the west, has never happened before in recorded history to the United States in October with a tropical system. Every other storm this time of year moving up the east coast turns out to sea....then there might just be some miscreant with a joystick, sperm stains on his sneakers, drinking an energy drink, and wearing an I ♥ HAARP t-shirt - that we need to contend with. Fear not, it's only energy, and we have plenty, all we need. So, if there is any creep to the west, turn your metaphysical power up to eleven, and push east. :~)

Dennis,

We are in agreement. Ever since araucuria suggested that our thoughts could have an effect on this storm I have been careful as to how I approach thinking about the storm and posting about it. I have seen that Ulli and some of the villagers are doing just what you suggest and I think it is a good idea. I do believe we can move mountains, I just don’t know how. I am willing to try. Head east Sandy and lose your power.

sleepy.

The power to move this storm will depend on numbers. The methods to do so can vary...
For those who are religious and use prayer, there is a host of discarnate beings who are willing to help.
Those who understand shamanism can address the spirit living within that storm. Those who understand the principles of the holographic universe can influence the macrocosm by applying their intent to the microcosm, as is represented by a satellite map of the storm.
The intent to remove the destructive edge of the storm by itself is not enough; emotional fuel is needed. This is provided by a sincere passion to save and protect those people who would be hurt if the storm were to hit land.
Also called love for humanity. Love and intent combined will have a small effect, if a few dozen people use a concerted effort there will be real change.

I am not "religious", I do not understand shamanism, nor do I understand the principles of the holographic universe...but don't count me out. I have a love for humanity and a sincere passion to help/protect those that could be hurt by this storm. I can pray so that is what I shall do.

thank you,

This may sound picky, but I believe that anyone who prays is religious, just not always into organized religion.
Prayer is a connecting communication, like picking up a phone and dialing a number. It's useless if no one picks up at the other end.
The word religion comes from the Latin religere, which means connecting. Connecting with those beyond, invisible.
As long as one knows who one is connecting with....
It's about the connectedness of all and everything.
Organized religion, by contrast, is usually based on traditional methods of bringing groups of people into such contact with ancient knowledge, or masters.
So in many cases, if not all, these methods have become outdated, misinterpreted, abused, all for the sake of keeping the organizers afloat....I guess we can agree on that..

Well my meditations are to deflect the storm to the East because I am in the path or my goose will be plucked, dressed and cooked. However the collective conscious mass of little people may be so disgusted with Washington that they may well visualize Sandy stalling over the city for a few days.

Hurricane Sandy: New York City transit suspended

http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/63766000/jpg/_63766894_63765564.jpg

New Yorkers have begun preparing for the worst

New York City's public transport system is to be suspended ahead of the arrival on Monday of Hurricane Sandy.

Governor Andrew Cuomo said the subway, bus and train services would shut down from 19:00 (23:00 GMT) on Sunday.

As many as 375,000 people have been ordered to evacuate low-lying areas, and schools will be shut.

Sandy's winds are set to intensify as it merges with a wintry storm from the western US. A number of states on the East Coast have declared an emergency.

Up to 60 million people could be affected by the storm, which is set to hit several states key to the 6 November presidential election.

I'm just a few miles North of Cape May, NJ. We have been experiencing very fine rain for about four hours, and seeing winds gusting to 30 mph.

I'm located at an elevation of 21 feet above sea level, and live less than a mile from the tidal salt marshes. I'm not leaving.

I'll make reports if things get really bad, as long as we have electric.

I'm basing my decission on several factors:

I have too much to lose if I leave. I need to be on-station in the event something should need immediate attention. I have weathered many category 1 hurricanes here on the Cape, so one more passing-by is nothing new. For us here on the Cape, "passing-by" is nearly assured.

Additionally, I'm watching with great concern the HaarpStatus.com (http://www.haarpstatus.com/status.html)website. From the data being collected at that site, it is evident this storm is being remotely maneuvered directly at down town NYC. It will pass the Jersey Cape (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=482652931766065&set=a.314437941920899.79964.132522300112465&type=1&theater), but not without some significant storm damage to the resort properties on the barrier islands.

These shallow earthquakes, alongside the 'perfect storm' scenario (I did watch HAARP status, and this = disrupting everything to give excuses during the elective processes), and the weird stoppage of a major storm: http://climate.cod.edu/flanis/satellite/2km/index.php?type=Mid_Atlantic-rad-48, not all is well! I check USGS, CSEM, GeoScience Australia et al. You will find conflictions in depths, the less depth = the worst scenario. However - usually if there is a 10km depth it is almost certainly geo-engineered. But this lot of concentrated biggies..?

I live as far west in Virgina as you can get. As I came in this evening at dark the rain was beginning to change to snowy mix. . . The prediction is 8 to 24 inches. With the leaves still on the trees 4 inches will bring many down. We are anticipating loss of power for many weeks and all I can say is let 'er rip!!!!

We have 5 cords of wood to feed our two woodstoves and two fireplaces.

We have 250 gallons of gas 300 gallons of diesal and 250 pounds of propane

The milk goats and chickens and cattle have fresh hay water and warm places to huddle up in. Our 5 dogs will be camped out on their beds around the fireplace.

The Swiss chard snow peas arugula kale carrots and collards are tucked under agricultural fabric and 3 high tunnels which have been braced and surround by two layers of square bales of hay.

We are eating natural raised buffalo pot roast with all the veggies and cornbread with fresh churned butter and honey from our hives.

Later I will take a hot bath with lavender from my herb gardens and Epsom salts to soak away sore tired muscles.

Life is good. . . . Let it snow. Let it snow. Let it snow.

Good catch Referee, (in this (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?51287-The-Perfect-Storm&p=575785&viewfull=1#post575785) post.) That is about as in-your-face as imaginable. I'd say the chance that they just happened, by coincidence, to show a HAARP array, then segued to the storm, is about a trillion to one.

Not here to fear monger however in this Fox News Clip about Sandy at three seconds in there is a picture of HAARP behind the anchor. What is with that.
That is weird. Thanks for calling it out.

Up to 60 million people could be affected by the storm, which is set to hit several states key to the 6 November presidential election.

In the video that Referee displayed in his post, the Youtube commentator wondered if they would cancel the elections.

Here's what my crystal ball predicts (a plastic toy I got at a garage sale ... not very reliable):

They won't cancel the elections, but turn out in New York city will be so low that New York (on the strength of the more Republican upstate votes) goes for Romney.

Certainly, if New York went for Romney, he'd win the overall election.

This will create much confusion and controversy after the election.

In the end, Obama will concede, and Romney will be the next President.

But many more American people will become disheartened in their electoral process.

There is no doubt in my mind that the 'controllers' behind haarp are all over this perfectly natural weather event. I believe they are testing their ability to either enhance or calm this storm. Which is only speculation until we are way past this extreme natural weather event.

We all know haarp has been in action many years but my personal opinion is we are way off the mark for its actual function. Like gmo food. . . There are very disturbing harmful side effects. But I truly believe we are not looking at the possible overall benifits to weather control.

I give this opinion with great trepidation.

Herr Frankenstein was the scientist. An apropos German title for those Nazis of the Fourth Reich (http://www.amazon.com/Rise-Fourth-Reich-Societies-Threaten/dp/0061245593) * who are orchestrating this obscenity against humanity. ( take a look inside)

I believe the reference to Frankenstein was first used (recently) to describe GMO food . . . as in Frankenfood

Frankenstein was a result of scientist creating a human from various body parts in the attempt to create a ‘superhuman’ . . . the result was a scientifically created unnatural hybrid human that apparently had a very nasty disposition.

Frankenfood > > >GMO food that has been scientifically created resulting in unnatural food that has some nasty side effects

Frankenstorm > > > A storm that has been scientifically enhanced resulting in a very nasty hybrid storm with the possibility of very nasty side effects.

Has anyone else wondered why this storm has been named 'Frankenstorm', as in 'Frankenstein'?... Does that seem odd to anyone else considering the circumstances?

I think it is more along lines of the "creators" bringing life to this non-event.

Sandy is a legend around here already, shutting down cities and school districts, non stop coverage and attention.

Worst case was Frankenstein intended it to be bad as the hype, but something went wrong and it wasn't quite the monster they hoped for, best case it was Acme, Costco and Home Depot marketing campaign that was completely successful.

I think it was in between, the top of the dollar based slave pyramid we call "civilization" CAPITALIZING on an opportunity. Would be nice to see what's going in the TBTF banks behind closed doors this week.

According to the non-stop blather on the teevee my girl can't get enough, NY hasn't been properly spanked by it yet--so i stand to be corrected.

This I do know--the media successfully, near-effortlessly manipulated human consciousness to create a monster round here, so far it's got no teeth (here).

agreed, I would think it was pretty neat if not all this fear energy created from it. Any extreme weather is cause for attention and preparation, I'm not trying to ake light at all...but this sets up the boy who cries wolf scenario. Rather than use it as opportunity to properly prepare for any emergency, it is again used as store clearing short-sighted disaster drill.

It goes to show how much the people making big decisions (shutting down entire cities) fear extended power outages and possible disruption in transportation and comunications. The good thing about the "conservative, preparatory" proactive moves (that half the people freak out over, the other half poo-poo as over-reaction) is that it is easier for the crews to get to the sites where they need to restore services.

I dunno, I'm just surprised i haven't lost power, as normally I tend to any time the wind blows. WOuld be nice if the electric & internet provider could serve me as well in good weather as they do now.

Press Release
10/29/2012 Contact: Chris Mackey
RALEIGH 919-733-5612
Gov. Perdue Declares State of Emergency for 24 Western Counties
Winter Storm Bringing Strong Winds and Heavy Snow

In anticipation of a severe winter storm coupled with strong winds from Hurricane Sandy in the North Carolina mountains, Gov. Bev Perdue today declared a State of Emergency for 24 western counties.

“People need to continue to take this storm seriously as we face flooding in the east and significant winter weather in the west,” said Gov. Perdue. “I urge North Carolinians in the impacted areas to take the necessary precautions to stay safe in this storm.”

A winter storm warning is in effect in western North Carolina until 6 a.m., Tues., Oct. 30. Strong winds and heavy snow are expected. As much as four to eight inches of snow is expected to accumulate and up to 12 inches on mountain peaks. Snow will fall periodically through the day and become heavier in late afternoon.

Strong winds of 35 miles per hour and gusts up to 65 mph, can knock down trees and slick roads will make traveling treacherous. The National Park Service has closed five sections of North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Parkway.

Counties included in the declaration are: Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Caldwell, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Surry, Swain, Transylvania, Watauga, Wilkes and Yancey.

Perdue declared the state of emergency which allows utility and other large vehicles to enter the state and relieve impacted areas. It also gives Department of Public Safety Secretary Reuben Young the authority to deploy the State Emergency Response Team to take necessary action to ensure the safety and protection of people in North Carolina. In addition, the declaration prohibits price gouging.

Looks like this obscenity is going to make land-fall just a few miles north of my location. I'm on the mainland just behind the barrier island of Stone Harbor, NJ. in an area called Middle Township.

We are being told by the local authorities, the storm will pass-over my location around 6:00 PM. High tide is about 8:30 PM.

The lights have gone-out several times for short durations.

The wind speeds are now gusting to around 60 mph. Since I'm on the south side of the center of circulation, I don't expect the wind velocities they are experiencing further north.

The storm has passed-over. It nearly went directly over my location, the data on this is vague. I was very near the center of circulation.

The winds are down to around 20 mph, with gusts to 30 mph.

At no time during the whole process did I see winds over 70 mph, and that was for one gust only. Most of it was around 60 mph and less. I don't know where the 90 and 110 mph winds that the media was reporting were occurring, but the center of the storm when right over my location. I'm guessing there was a bit of media hype going-on.

My power has been off several times, the longest for about a half hour. This situation could reoccur through the evening.

Flooding will be the source of the most damage in my area which will not be assessed until after tomorrow morning's high tide at around 9:00 am.

MANHATTAN — A massive explosion rocked a Con Edison plant near East 14th Street and the FDR on Monday evening as Hurricane Sandy continued to batter New York City.

Officials from Con Edison confirmed that the explosion took place at a substation and subsequently knocked out power to about 230,000 people in the surrounding neighborhoods.

Area residents shared photos and video footage of the explosion via social media websites shortly after it happened.

"Huge explosion just rocked the East Village, everything went dark and I mean dark. #Sandy I'm now legit scared," tweeted @YourAnonNews.

"Whole east side of Manhattan just went black after a huge explosion. Empire State Building still lit," tweeted @JoannaSimkin.

They have shut-off our power here on the Jersey Cape. I've been told it was for 'safety reasons'. The power will be off for an "undetermined amount of time". I'm running right now on a generator.

I've been out-and-about this morning and can see no major damage around my community - a few tree limbs and a random trash can, that's it.

I haven't gone near the waterfront as yet.

I'll check-back later today....

[update]
The list of 'power outages' posted earlier in this thread is a ruse. The power was shut-off on purpose here on the Cape.

Here's a well done map of this storm from Google: Superstorm Sandy (http://google.org/crisismap/2012-sandy).

I think its odd that a category 1 hurricane is called a super-storm. I know its serious, but all the hype is kind of embarrassing.

Well vitalux. . . I live in sw Virginia. We have 13 inches of snow on the ground and it is still snowing. Power is out in the three counties around me. THIS IS NOT NORMAL. We turned our generator on for a couple hours so we could get water to our animals and check business emails and make a few phone calls.

You my disillusioned friend are the one asleep and has his head stuck firmly within the governmental handouts of which you are so proud. Get a grip and come out of your cannabis cloud long enough to see what it truly going on around you.

No fear here in sw Virginia . . . . . Just sensibly adapting to all conditions . . . normal or not so normal. :p

Storm Analysis:

Although the storm made landfall in the area of Sea Isle City, a distance of only about 10 miles from my location, there was very little damage in Cape May County. Of course, those properties directly along the waterfront did receive the 'usual' amount of damage one might expect from a category 1 hurricane. Otherwise, the area really didn't suffer any ill effects from the storm itself.

I understand the damage was much worse further to the north and into NY State. Judging from the intensity of the hurricane portion of the storm that passed over my location, I would have to conclude there was some "other" factor involved in the magnitude of that northern part of the storm.

Could that intensity be a result of the H.A.A.R.P. manipulation that was reported earlier within this thread? Review the evidence, and discern for yourself.

Here are a few links for those interested in seeing the relativly mild local effects I'm reporting:

http://www.capemaycountyherald.com/article/storm/villas/87654-lower+township+damage+less+anticipated

http://www.capemaycountyherald.com/article/weather/87591-images+sandy

One might note all the flooding photos in this cluster of 29 images were taken in 'flood prone' areas. These places flood sometimes on an astronomical tide.

I also point-out photo #18 is where I have a big issue with the authorities regarding the 'official' handling of this storm.

Any person who chose to evacuate their property will not be allowed back into the county until further notice. There is a curfew in place and restrictions on travel to any barrier island.

Additionally power was purposely terminated for "safety" concerns, although my power was recently restored.

I suppose many among the members will be O.K. with these procedures. I personally consider these 'Emergency Management' tactics an assault on the individual sovereignty of everyone effected.

I acknowledge the need for caution. It is my observation that need for caution has escalated to a state of absolute control in recent times.

Just my humble opinion....

I do hope all those effected in other areas will fare as well as we have here on the Jersey Cape.

dang it, just sprayed my keyboard with coffee...

thanks for the LOL...

snow is so peaceful as long as you are sitting inside watching it fall, growing up in Minnesota remembering driving to work because there was only 8 inches on the road in my Camaro with bald tires, enough to have to slow down 5 miles per hour, makes me chuckle...

it'll melt, get out and shoot some nice pictures...

not to offend anyone as I know people have been killed and many are flooded or without power etc but in our area, we were told to prepare with the usual 72 hours of water, food , candles etc.......this is what it was like..... and I know its not over and I am very grateful at least here it has not been what they prepared us for.

I hope you don't mind if I don't bother to be afraid :nono:.
You see I died already....so as of late, I have just been enjoying living.

...However, with much love, please don't let me spoil the fear for the rest of you that wish to enjoy the fear :playball:

With much love and respect may I suggest that you pick a thread in the spiritual section to preen your spiritual advancement and leave this thread for those of us interested in the storm?

Vitalux, Cool out Some people wish not to die right now. Many have things to do complete etc.

Vitalux - please cool out and leave this thread for those who are interested in the storm.

It looks to me like sleepy and Referee had it right on in their replies to you.

I will now delete most of your more recent intrusion on this thread, as it did not add anything to the good beyond what was already evident in what I quote above, but did add further to your disruption of this thread.

===

I have a general rule of thumb when someone has a quite different perspective on a topic being discussed in a thread, especially when that view is sufficiently different that it is more disruptive than constructive to the discussion.

Post one's dissenting view once ... with respect to others and the discussion ... then move it to another thread if you want to continue to disrupt the thread with a contrary view.

By the way, I do not consider that the graphic of the fearful person you (Vitalux) posted in your first post on this thread (follow the here link (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?p=575239#post575239) from my first quote above) was respectful of the others on this thread.

When it comes to Mother Nature - The more you have, the more you lose.

Mother Nature has the power to take the surface of this planet back to the stone age at blink of an eye. Let this be a lesson to those who do not live in harmony with Mother Nature. A homeless person in New York has one thing to worry about. And that is the safety and welfare of himself. He has no belongings or things to worry about. All he has to do is take himself to a safe place. Some human life is lost but most of the damage is to done to infrastructure and assets that the indiginous people of this world do not have because they do not need.

Interesting piece from American Kabuki. You'll have to see the images at the link as I am technically challenged on copying this....

Dutchsinse Images of La Canada Mexico HAARP Vortices

When I saw these images captured by Dutchsinse I immediately thought of the Rodin coil pattern discovered by Marko Rodin. We've seen arcs, squares, circles, saw tooth patterns in HAARP echo returns that show up in weather radar images, but the Rodin Coil pattern is a new HAARP configuration. A shape that could be very potent. Below is an image from Marko Rodin's lectures on the mathematics of the vortex which are available online and on YouTube.

K93dL65Q724

Richard Hoagland has spoken for sometime about the power of hyper dimensional physics. Marko Rodin has given the world the mathematical basis for the role the vortex and torus shapes play in the transfer of energy in the quantum world. The math is quite simple, its sum of nines math which is the same math used in numerology.

This intrigued me so I sent the link over to GW Hardin for his analysis given his experience and knowledge of sacred geometry, solfeggio frequencies and the rodin coil (which is related to the solfeggio scale). Here's GW Hardin's comments which you might find interesting, especially in regards to the apparent weather wars currently underway:

OK. The Fibonacci spiral in Sandy is normal. What's not normal are the spirals around the Yucatan There are three spiral configurations: 6, 20, and 7. The 6 and the 7 are counteractors to the 20. It looks to me like you have vortex wars going on. The 20 is the troubling number. Whoever is creating the 20 number is being counteracted by whoever is creating the 6 and the 7.

What this tells me is that Sandy could have been a lot worse. But it wasn't. Whoever is running HAARP has competition. Frankly, I don't understand this.

If you can get DutchSince to find out who is influencing the Yukatan, you find out who is neutralizing the Illuminati.

Weirdness,
GW
Perhaps someone good in interferometry can figure out where on the globe these patterns are originating? HAARP signals are normally bounced off the ionosphere from ground stations, and there are many installations owned by various countries and private interests. There's also been some indications recently that there are also HAARP satellites in orbit. Who has them? Nobody knows. Probably the usual suspects.

The images below are Dutchsinse and the complete post is here: http://sincedutch.wordpress.com/2012/10/28/10282012-mexico-canada-spiral-vortex-shaped-radar-return/

We have turned the generator onto cool the freezers back down and other things that require electricity. So here’s a quick update.

Power is estimated to be out in this area (SW Virginia) until the middle to end of next week.

We are in the middle of “borrowing” generators from the coal mines and get them set up again down at the elementary school as we did this past summer when the power was out for two weeks. Several are out checking all the neighbors throughout the ridges and hollows.

It is my opinion that “ haarp” was used to lessen the strength and impact of this storm . . . . not increase it.

It is my opinion that the ‘controllers’ are putting large metropolitan areas through tests and to get the general public used to these extreme weather events . . . and most of all for a possible solar cme that would turn the ‘lights’ off for a very long time. They are helping people to acclimate to a new way of living.

“Something” is causing our climate to change not only on our planets but the other planets in our solar system and the ‘controllers’ are preparing as many different scenarios as possible.

We have much knowledge, ‘they’ are feeding it to us as we can accept it (or at least some of us) . . . just open your eyes and look from all angles unobjectively.

Knowledge is Power . . . use it and turn it to wisdom and most of all. . . . . Adapt Adapt Adapt

As I previously reported, most of the storm damage was further to the North from my location.

Here's a report from one of the largest news syndicates in the state:

http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2012/11/hurricane_sandy_continues_to_d.html#incart_river

This is the reason for the intense H.A.A.R.P. signals that were reported earlier in this thread.

This storm was a FEMA exercise in martial law....

- update -

It should be noted, the report from The Star-Ledger posted above does not mention the fact that these residents have been living in their homes for four days since the storm. The Star-Ledger report is from November 2.

The residents who opted to evacuate before the storm occurred, were never allowed back into their communities.

As the report indicates, those residents who stayed were given five minutes to leave, four days after the danger of the storm passed.

I awoke this morning and before even opening my eyes I knew our power had been restored . . . . I knew because the constant hum was back in my head.

When all power including cell and internet connections are ‘dead’ I am always amazed how completely silent and peaceful it is . . . sometimes I pray for an emp or cme to take out our electrical grid for this very reason . .

blessed silence
