MAN PHOTOGRAPHS BEAM SHIP
Taking video and pictures of the unusual craft, Epling was just one of thousands who saw the cigar-shaped craft across three states and the part-time star-gazer estimated the UFO to be operating at over 100,000 feet - over twice the height a commercial jet flies.

It doesn't look at all like a 'craft' to me.
What it DOES ! look like to me is the business end of HAARP.
Considering all the weather activity going on right now, I'd say this is very dodgy.

The sighting has excited the UFO community online - leading to a group of enthusiasts known as the Ashtar Command Crew claiming the craft to be a 'Lightship'

Personally I find the whole ashtar command lightship thing hilariously funny and I can not believe how people can buy into that stuff, especially in the way it is mostly presented.
"lightship" just makes me think of high hippies dancing for some reason.. lol

An older Jaime Maussan UFO presentation had similar video.
I bet MIT could create something like that in less than a year if challenged to do so.

Thanks for clarifying, at least now I understand the OP's reference to "The Ashtar Command".
You picture hippies dancing, and so do I, but I also see those who consider themselves "serious truthers" and/or "spiritualists" who've fallen victim to this particular brand of religious programming and manipulation (with an ET twist).... it's knda sad really.
As a side note, I do love how these groups (like Ashtar Command and Galactic Federation) are so quick to jump on board seemingly-credible UFO sightings (like the one in the OP) and present them as evidence to confirm the presence and intervention efforts of their "space brothers" and "acended masters".
I find this happens quite often, especially with UFO incidents that get MSM coverage... so predictable!

Yeah, you are completely right in every respect. Truthfully I find it disturbing, I guess some times I can be a little cynical about these things, but that is mostly because I have (and still am) so disturbed by the many aspects of this "GFL" and "Ashtar Command" thing. I mean is seems so programmed in so many ways.
The easiest example of programming is the similarities between the "GFL" and the "Star Trek Federation of Planets" and then almost too obviously Ashtar Command with it's similarities to the Stargate series. That is like phase one of programming, install an idea in peoples minds that resonate to the specific archetype/persons social pattern and then simply use various forms of (for example) psy-ops to lurk the "plausible compatible scenarios" further into their mind-set. And yes, this is certainly also after some time a good naturally operated tool to discredit for example serious sightings, or people in the "UFO arena" in general.
This is just one out of many hypothesis that can be applied for this increasing phenomena. It should be noted that some times people get attracted to this simply because the feel to belong with something/someone/other people or simply because they need something to believe in, which I am sure many can resonate with.
Sorry if this went off/topic for some in regards to the footage, but since "Ashtar Command" thing came up in the OP and the article then I thought it might as well apply to this thread :)

Some still won't believe, yes there are spaceships, yes they come here, yes they are real. Don't let photoshop and hoaxers and such throw you off your game, ET's are real and they build ships and travel the universe , we could very well see them in mass one day soon. I think the photo is kewl , maybe next we will see tons of smaller craft from that bigger mother, then they land and get out and walk around and spoil the ptb's control on the ET presence . hoping. Earth so needs to feel a sense of hope , and life out there, and a feeling of a brighter future, with a little help from our friends.

Ashtar Command is a complete red herring. It's important to understand that the Daily Mail is very much MSM, they are not going to report a sighting like this and not include some disinformation.
What I find interesting is that such an interesting sighting was shown so clearly. It is obviously not a weather balloon, as one of the comments on the Daily Mail page said...

There's nothing wrong with being hopeful, at least not as far as I'm concerned.
But false hope??
Well, that's another thing entirely.
I don't think anyone here is suggesting that ET's and/or UFO's don't exist BTW.
What IS being suggested, however, is that there are psyops being employed to specifically target "certain segments" of the alternative community who are more susceptible to manipulation, misdirection, and beguilment.
Just because a group projects messages [seemingly] of love, light, and hope for a better future does not necessarily mean they have our best interests at heart by default.
The ability to read between the lines and understnd the true meaning/intention behind words is a skill that some are more proficient at than others.... which should should be plainly evident to anyone who has spent considerable time on this forum (or others like it).
Anyways, I'll just leave it at that.

Just noticed this thread, posted this in another one, which is about this, so I'll put it here:
' Looking at photos of it now, the accounts of being silent and hovering the same position, provided something was there, I think that it is two cylindrical balloons, and two small 'spheres' acting as weights, maybe holding sensor equipment, and a parachute. Maybe its a new type of weather balloon under testing, something from the US air force even. The glowing could be it reflecting the suns glare. The height it is claimed to be at is around the height many weather balloons reach, but it would make this absolutely huge if it was visible with the naked eye. Some have said it looks like a reflection of a light, though I believe the guy took it from outside, but needs to be proven, so far he is the only one with footage, the claims by other people needed to be checked out too, if the police calls were around the same time, and the guy had not yet told anyone that legitimises it further there was something in the sky.'
Looks like there is a transparent material between the two cylinders, maybe some sort of sheet.

I can't say that it was a ufo but i saw the long balloon
thing and it was black.
Doesn't the color black, soak in light and not reflect it?
Maybe i'm wrong...

Hmm, sorry, but I'm not buying it.
As far as I'm concerned that prototype craft barely even resembles the object in question.
May I ask where/how you come across this info?
Why do I get the impression this is some kind of [bogus] "official explanation" being offered up by the establishment to help make the story go away...?

Yes, I saw the words “next gen” in your post... and all I’ll say is it would have required a significant leap in tech for the craft in the picture on the website you referenced to end up resembling the object depicted n the photos/vidoes that we are discussing on this thread.
I don't know who your contacts are, but the explanation they've offered you is far from credible IMO.
Facts in plain sight??... well, not as far as I'm concerned.
And regarding your comments about "conspiracy theorists running amock with speculation"... please, show me where somebody has done that here.

From their September 2010 blog http://www.sofcoast.com/weblog/2010/09/index.html. Now, think about what this might look like while being filmed through a telescope with a video camera. Keep in mind that this photograph was a test prototype from 2010. The equipment being tested on 10.16 is next generation, two years later.
Scroll down the page to see the shot that resembles the "ufo".

Here's an article about the UfO's creator, John Surmmont and his presence in the Pike County Kentucky area. This article was published in 2008. Surmont has since added San Diego as his official base of operations. His story is interesting to say the least. He was adopted and had lived in 14 foster homes in his youth. There seem to be parallels between his traumatic youth and those of other well known whistleblowers and ex military personnel. http://www.navyseals.com/bringing-it-home
Here is his LinkedIn page. http://www.linkedin.com/in/johnsurmont
Doesn't mention anything about being Ashtar Command ( I just googled that to find out what it was- related to the GFL crackpots again).

Check this other thread: UFO Over Virgie, Kentucky 10/16/12 (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?51255-UFO-Over-Virgie-Kentucky-10-16-12) where I posted this:
Man captures pictures of reported UFO

http://ad.doubleclick.net/ad/wn.nat.wkyt.op/;lid=wkyt160a;sz=1x1;ord=1180051? VIRGIE, Ky. (WYMT) - An object spotted in the sky by several people across Pike County last week has still not been identified. One local astronomer captured pictures and video of it through his telescope.
No one seems to know.
"It wasn't anything I recognized. Definitely not an airplane, and I've never seen a helicopter that looked like that," said Allen Epling.
Sightings of the object have been reported in Kentucky, Virginia, and Tennessee, but it has yet to be identified.
Epling says even with his background in astronomy, it is unlike anything he has ever seen.
"Looked like two fluorescent bulbs, side by side, parallel, shining very brightly. It would get so bright they would seem to merge, and you could see it very clearly with the naked eye. Then it would dim down almost invisible," he said.
Even stranger, the object barely moved. It hovered in the same area for more than two hours.
"I don't understand how it could stay up there in one place. There was no sign of propellers or any kind of proportion system. No gas is coming out," said Epling.
Police in the area say they received a handful of calls about the object, but they were unable to locate it.
Airport officials say they do not have any records of aircraft flying through the area at that time.
Epling says his best guess is that it is some sort of balloon, but his research has not turned up anything similar.
And he says it had to be hovering at an altitude of at least 100,000 feet.
"Contradictory, if it's a balloon, how could it maintain its structure at that altitude?" he said.
So for now it remains unidentified, better known as a UFO.
Epling put his video of the object on YouTube. It has had more than 30,000 views.

There goes the "Balloon Theory" with such a high altitude and a 2 & 1/2 hours hovering in the same spot.
This "thing" was big enough and high enough up in the sky to be seen from a very wide area and for a very long time.
Hoax? Maybe, but a highly sophisticated one if, for example, it is a hologram from space or ground.

Being one who would welcome a visit, I wish this were a an alien craft, but I would be remiss in not sharing what I know.
In no way am I suggesting that this was a hoax either.
Someone on this thread suggested that MIT might be able to pull this off. Interestingly, MIT has, for the past three years, been actively engaged with the DOD in tethered craft that can go as high as the mesosphere. John Surmont has been involved in the implementation of that research.
These surveillance craft are tethered- this is why there was such a limited range of motion. The videos and links I shared are the public videos and links. The improvements to these craft far exceed their original prototypes.
So for the record, I am not involved in the propogation of government propaganda. Not my scene. Just passing along what I know.

That's an interesting problem in physics to solve: the weight of a 50Km/31Miles theter to be pulled up to the mesosphere.
Another interesting mystery to solve is that, once up there, it just disappeared 2 1/2 hours later... I guess someone, somewhere, is going to have another one of these weather balloon stories when recovering the pieces of that one in some fields and finding the culprit at the end of the theter some 50Km away.
Anyway, thanks for sharing what you know.
