Hurricane Sandy has caused chaos to the U.S. presidential election, with rallies cancelled and early voting disrupted. But it's the economic storm over the last few years which is worrying the electorate. RT's Marina Portnaya looks at criticism thrown at the two major candidates over their links to the rich who are still hogging the wealth of the nation.

I am not sure if this video should be described as ironic, sad or offensive. Russia Today is a state run TV station that would never be allowed to get away with a similar piece on Russia. They would not be able to do a corruption piece about their own country, they would never be able to show the political murders that are taking place all the time in Rostov, Moscow, Perm, Kazan (to name just a few cities). It is estimated that more that 60% of the Russian economy is linked to organized crime. Politics in many cases is so linked in with the crime families that it is hard to tell them apart in some of the major cities. They (politicians) are tied into drug trafficking, human trafficking, extortion, the illegal export of contraband oil, gas, metal and even irradiated and radioactive material such as plutonium.

The inequitable distribution of wealth by corruption in Mother Russia is obscene, they make western nations seem tame and almost spiritual in comparison. For RT to criticize the west about distribution of wealth is simply outrageous. For Putin's network to criticize western politics is beyond bizarre!

Putin is responsible for establishing RT, he rose out of the ranks of the KGB and runs the country with an iron fist. The few uprisings against him that have made news outside of Russia have been put down with force. He has little regard for human life and is no friend of humanity!

The style, content and the neutral demeanor that RT attempts to give off is nothing more than well orchestrated smoke screen with an anti freedom, anti west, anti humanity agenda.

Many people have awoken to the political and economic agenda of western media, the likes of NBC, BBC, CBS, Daily Mail, Fox, CNN, the independent (to name a few) have all but stopped attempting to look unbiased, no longer delivering news down the center. Anyone that pays attention can easily see their treatment of the news is selective and slanted.

RT is a deceitful product with little regard for human life, it is probably the least enlightened worldwide network station and should be regarded as such.

Don't get me wrong, I am not pro western media but it is necessary for everyone to understand what is behind the media they are choosing to get their information from! Also I certainly have watched my share of RT video's but without understanding what is behind the media source we are reading or watching then we are just useful idiots in their agenda.

I Know what you mean I have said several times i find it ironic the likes of RT & Al Jazeera have out 'Foxed' pardon the pun the so called western media at the momment.
I still listen and post the BBC , Channel 4 news and any other that does a interresting story.There is no denying Russia has many problems and is not any better than
her western counterparts in fact worse in many cases.But the information presented on RT's US, London and other stations are easily accessible on the web and the
use of bloggers and experts in there stories many of whom write for western media outlets is usually superior as they have more time to get their views over in 5 or 10min
segments. Where as on western news they are lucky to get a few sentences.

As you say maybe the others will have to start catching up !!

Choosing between major political leaders is an exercise in choosing one's poison. At least Putin has some real authority, some real awareness, and is opposing the worst of the lot ... the fading Anglo-American-Rothschild-Rockefeller-Zionist-Jesuit oligarchy. Its an arm of Russian intelligence yes,but it doesn`t really need to propagandize and make up stories about the west to demonize the system here now does it.They only have to tell the truth about the system here.Yes Russia is corrupt,most in the west know this inherently the problem is not enough know about the depravity and paradoxical nature of ''our'' leaders,system of government and just the general way the west ''does business''.The fact that a Russian news network is one of few mainstream type media outlets that brings these issues to the fore(disregarding their motivations) is the ultimate irony and really shows you how ''free'' the ''free press'' is these days

I feel they are a very good counterbalance(mainstream wise)to the squishy drivel that passes for news in the west these days.Understanding where it comes from doesn`t negate the fact that there is a hell of a lot more truth to what they report.
