Some weeks ago a thread was posted which told of a Scandanavian (I think) couple who rescued an ET in a spacesuit in their boat after it had fallen in the sea. The ETs took the man into their craft and offered him a piece of metal or something as a reward or they would explain various things to him - he chose the latter. It was a fascinating tale and I wanted to look into but can't now find it.

Yeah, i remember it, i think it was a lead on from the Baltic sea phenomenon that turned out to be a stone structure, another story
came out of that..a family pleasure cruising off the Danish coast..there was a man who wrote a book about the experience that kept really out of the picture.wish

Thanks all. That's the story GH except that it was quite an old account - maybe late 60s but still fascinating and yes there was a book which I'd like to locate a copy of but probably not much chance. I'm sure I read about when I was studying the thread on Charles Hall in Contactees. However, I searched back in there and can't see it. At the time I thought it should have its own thread but of course when I went back to look I couldn't find it - alas.

It was first published in 1969 in the Netherlands (not Sweden or Denmark).
A man who is sailing finds a alien in a space suit, floating/drowning in the water and saves him. They make contact and they explain to him in detail about their civilization etc.

I read the original dutch version some 20 yrs ago and was out of my self for months, this book woke me up like nothing ever before or after and I have been a great fan of this book. I also have a follow up book that i think is only available in dutch and is real heavy reading and i sofar did not manage to work myself trough it. On the Rune Site however the 2nd book (http://galactic.no/rune/iarga2a.html) is quite different and starts of with the history of mankind on earth by being made by gods (not God) who came here.

A fantastic world of the Gods.

The gods who came to Earth had thus an invulnerable body, impervious (uimottagelig) to heat or cold, they had no need to eat or drink, and they knew no sickness or death. Nevertheless, they enjoyed all the pleasures of fine food and drink, lived in great castles in refined luxury, and travelled in fantastic conveyances to all the corners Oh the Earth. Ahhh, the elusive Iargans :).

Some people in our alternative community connect them with other species (mainly from the Cygnus constellation). They tend to use this picture a lot, for some reason.

It shouldn't be too far from the truth, as some people with background in astronomy who have studied the case have pinpointed that the location they have given their homeworld allegedly is found, is around one of the stars in the 61 Cygni system.

Thanks again, all. I dowloaded the book and have read most of it. Seems the real deal to me. The Wendell Stephens clip was interesting too and adds authenticity to the account. It would be interesting to know if Denearde has had any subsequent contact.

Yes the Iargans kept in contact with Denaerde. They kept sending him information trough the radiation technology that was used during his initial contact. From that came 2 dutch books,

and the guy making the drawings was inspired to create together with his brother all kind of futuristic designs. In interviews the drawer also maintained it was a true event. The drawer and his twin brother btw were famous for making a drawing of a newly designed and secret airplane in the 50's based on analysing all available fotos they could find, and it was questioned in british parlament how the design could have been leaked.

The second book is the one you discussed earlier about the gods who came to Earth etc. I might find some of that a bit too highbrow for me but I'll get back to you. Funny how the Iargans know about the history of Earth. What's it to them I wonder? Or maybe this is some sort of shared knowledge, like ask any ET and they'll have it all on their computer.
