Buddha Showing a Thousand Hands - The First Exercise of Falun Dafa.

Falun Dafa is an ancient practice for improving one's mind, body and spirit. All exercise instruction videos, lectures and books of Falun Dafa can be downloaded free of cost from http://www.falundafa.org

The teachings of Falun Dafa have done nothing short of redefining Qi Gong and cultivation practice. It has transformed millions of lives around the world, giving people back their superior health, improving wisdom and allowing them to practise genuine cultivation according to higher principles.

Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong, or just Dafa) is an extremely high-level cultivation practice guided by the characteristics of the universe—Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Forbearance.

"Cultivation" means continuously striving to better harmonize oneself with these universal principles. "Practice" refers to the exercises -- five sets of easy-to-learn gentle movements and meditation. Cultivating oneself is essential; practicing the exercises supplements the process.

Over time, the principles of Dafa unveil the deepest and most profound truths of the universe. Following the principles, practitioners of Falun Dafa are able to reach very high realms, enlightening to the true meanings of life, and finding the path of return to their origins and true selves.

While the exercises have deep inner meanings, they also help to reduce stress and can bring profound improvements in health and fitness.

Principles of the Exercise:

The core of Buddha Showing a Thousand Hands is stretching to open up all energy channels. Through doing this exercise, beginners can acquire energy in a short period of time, and experienced practitioners will improve quickly. The exercise requires all energy channels to be opened up at the outset, enabling practitioners to immediately practice at a high level. The movements of this exercise are quite simple because a Great Way is, as a rule, simple and easy to learn. Though the movements are simple, they dictate everything involved in the cultivation system. When doing this exercise, one's body will feel warm and will experience a unique sensation of there being a very strong energy field. This is caused by stretching and opening all the energy channels throughout the body. The purpose is to break through areas where the energy is blocked, to enable energy to circulate freely and smoothly, to mobilize the energy within the body and under the skin, circulating it vigorously, and to absorb a great amount of energy from the universe. It simultaneously enables the practitioner to quickly achieve the state of having a qi gong energy field. This exercise is done as the foundational exercise of Falun Gong, and it is usually done first. It is one of the methods for reinforcing your cultivation.

This looks so beautiful, realaxing and energizing. I wonder why some of the movements are different for males and females ? a difference of right/left, up/down. This would compliment my Tai Chi and other Martial Arts beautifully. I wonder if all of the free downloads have the eyes closed ? That is a challenge I would welcome and accompanying music is very soothing. Thank you

In women the left side correspondes to - energy and the right side to + energy. Like in yoga, while sitting down, the right foot must be close to the base chacra, for women to balance the energy by opposition. Also the right hand should support the left hand, for mudra exercices.

Thanks MariaDine. I will give these a try.
They must be very empowering, or people would not be going to jail for practicing them.

Thanks MariaDine. I am starting this month with the exercises. Since a long time has passed from your first posts, can anyone share here his/her experiences with this practice? Have you felt something differently physically or spiritually? Thanks!
