I am so grateful to be living in a small, progressive town in the "boonies", which is thought to be relatively safe during these earth changes, and which is home to many kindred spirits.
The following article is about a Goddess statue that was recently erected in the park at heart of our downtown, and tells you a little bit about my town.

[QUOTE]She’s bright blue, over 10 feet tall and weighs more than 1,000 pounds. She’s Aza, the newest goddess on the planet, and Friday evening, she’ll be dedicated in Eureka Springs, Ark.

The work of Reeds Spring sculptor Bruce Anderson, Aza’s name is short for Adora Zerlina Astra, which Anderson said means “Beloved One Created of the Stars.”

“She’s a celestial goddess here to celebrate the feminine energy of the cosmos,” he added.

Although her name implies otherwise, Aza was very much created on Planet Earth. Anderson, along with sculptor Lee Robertson, began Aza in Reeds Spring as a steel armature. Next came layers of concrete, and for her skin and clothing, Anderson worked with additional blue-stained concrete.

Completed with a layer of sparkling glass mosaics, Aza overlooks Basin Park in Eureka Springs, where she changes with the light and means many different things to different people.

“As people came and watched me work,” Anderson said, “everyone saw something different. Some people thought she looked like a mermaid, others said she might be Egyptian.

“That’s fine with me. She’s not of any particular spiritual school.”
