I downloaded this in several parts from YouTube a while ago to subtitle it for the German audience. By now the original video is gone, this may be due to copyright issues. Because of that, I don't want the wrong people to become aware of it, so I keep the video unlisted on YouTube, i.e. you have to have the direct link to watch it, you cannot find it on YouTube directly. But I find it should be shared, hence this thread.

I find this exercise very helpful and energizing. It's based on movements Juan Matus taught Carlos Castaneda. They're meant to stir up energy and harmoniously re-arrange it in your energy field. Plus it looks funny and is very enjoyable. More details are explained in the video itself and I got some explanations on my website (http://www.we-are-change.de/selbst/tensegrity/) that I copied out of the German translation of the accompanying book (www.amazon.com/Magical-Passes-Practical-Shamans-Ancient/dp/0060928824/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1352037780&sr=8-3). I'm too lazy to translate it all now, here is what Google translator makes out of it (http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=de&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=de&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.we-are-change.de%2Fselbst%2Ftensegrity%2F&act=url).

For those of us who were around in the 60's, this was called the Twist.

from Wikipedia:
The Twist was a dance inspired by rock and roll music. It became the first worldwide dance craze in the early 1960s, enjoying immense popularity among young people and drawing fire from critics who felt it was too provocative. It inspired dances such as the Jerk, the Pony, the Watusi, the Mashed Potato, the Monkey and the Funky Chicken, although none were as popular. The dance was inspired by “The Twist,” Chubby Checker's 1960 cover of the B-side of Hank Ballard & The Midnighters' 1959 single, “Teardrops on Your Letter”.

A world record was set in Deland, Florida on 10/11/12, when Chubby Checker sang the song live and the crowd danced. An estimated 4,000 people twisted along with Checker, surpassing the previous Guinness World Record record for most people twisting in the streets at once.[1]

It's also reminiscent of Qi Gong, drawing energy from the Universe for the benefit of Mother Earth and self and humanity.

Thank you for this video. I'll be doing the exercises today.

Many of these movements were used by Michael Jackson on his magic dancing. Coincidence?

I agree with equipose. Its all about moving the chalkras in your palms through your aura and activating energetic filiments. Tai chi does this and so to would any kind of dancing with the right intent. Trance music doesn't hurt in this pursuit.

Hi Christian, obviously another Casteneda fan... I had these vids, but only in the old video cassettes, can't play them any more. Several of the magical passes have become incorporated into my yoga practice, as have some of Donna Eden's energy exercises, many similarities. Amazing how these things just get incorporated over the years. I think they're very powerful.

I've just got hold of Florinder Donner's (Casteneda's widow) book Shabono, about her life with Amazonian Indians, apparently she disappeared after Casteneda's death, maybe went back to the Indians...or leapt into the abyss! There's a cracking film waiting to be made about his life and 'party'.

Thanks for posting, very good to see them again.

This has elements of Qi Gong and Tai Chi, and maybe even some aspects of Reiki and Kundalini Yoga. It's fascinating!

Thanks for sharing it, Christian.

I can't see the videos, but this may be the moves that I have on DVD. I watched it once and thought, like you, that it looked weird. Perhaps I should pull the DVD out and revisit. Thanks!
