Yes and a couple of years back here in the UK there was a news report that two cd's worth of this very data (child benefit) went missing & the DWP (Department of Work & Pensions) apologised for it I remember this because I was sent a letter from them informing me that me/my data is/was amongst this...

This is very concerning considering what we know about child abuse and trafficking.
Any data base of this kind could easily be exploited by the psychopaths who because of their authority would be able to gain access to it.
And who believes Capita that photo's aren't disclosed.

Creeping identity chip. The comments are interesting, (are now closed after 3 days) the people are 'voting' thumbs down, few seem to 'approve'. Over time the data will cover everyone, and only those with the 'mark of the beast' etc etc...

If there were good journalistic work, a journalist would take this, make a research and prove how easy it is to get information on kids, collect it and sell it on the black market, in order to have this database shut down for good.
This is litterally inacceptable. A stupid teacher (some are) who for any reason hate your kid could input any kind of distorded information that will follow the kid forever. This is really not good. Now, what about pedophile looking for the distraught kids which could be easy targets, or the pedophile kidnaps rings, etc.
However, just having information from childhood on your behavior is Orwelian and will, for sure, be misused.

When I hear of news such as this, my thoughts immediately go to the ongoing, highly complex gathering of human genome specifics.

on a way people ar'ent equiped to record aspects of information ,there is still a step to take, these are making the attempt perhaps at using there human potential (but why to so many useless departments, do they still need to think thoughts to summarize the content), ..?not having higher technology, coving the 3 aspect areas.
the next step by one timeline will be the beast time line or that which is ours,,,,,,,,,,,for it seems they have nothing, would have to make it mutual, and enter into a 3rd aspectareaCmbtive. ...so what cares for looking stupid

Puts a whole new twist on "this will go in your permanent record".
Indeed, a vile, egregious act. We get calls at home asking if J is home or if this is J's parent. I ask them, quite loudly, who the F they are and how they know my child's name. The first time this happened it scared the daylights out of me, thinking it may have been police calling about an accident or worse. It has happened about 10 times now and I always blast them. It seems to be a group(s) trying to sell something, but how did they get the name and phone number? From the school? Grrrrrrrrrrr!

They can collect similar information with ease every year in the US on student photo day. They have the name, age, grade and photo of the child which also includes the school name and address. It is kept for years in databases all over the country. I tried sending notes to prevent my children from being photographed...this made the school staff pretty angry. They treated me like a psycho mom trying to prevent her children from having a normal life. They resorted to scare tactics by reminding me that these photos could help find my child if he/she were stolen. They would take the pictures sometimes and tell me they had forgotten that I asked not to have them done, they would force my kids to have them done even after my children would tell them that their parents forbid it. To no avail! I resorted to keeping them home on photo days. They still snap pics throughout the year for photo journals and such. On one hand, I get it. It really is a cool thing to have those records if they are needed in an emergency. And who doesn't want a picture of little Suzy and her kindergarten class. It would be nice to say that this is just all fun kids at school stuff, and for the most part it is. I don't think the teachers or photographers are out to get my children personally. But unfortunately, there is no way to know who actually has access to this information. So fear of the unknown threat drives many to want anonymity while fear of the unknown and fear of being different also drives many to conform.

There must be a way to remove your child from this list. Mine have either been removed due to me removing them from school or have a great big X next to their names.
I'll contact UKcolumn and see what they say about it.

Some really interesting comments and observations...
For my part I noticed a question on a form for pre-school I've been sent that asks if I give the school permission to discuss my child with health workers, social workers etc. I don't have anything to hide, but I sure as whatever don't want to say yes and have my child discussed without being involved and knowing why.
I just don't think its appropriate to isolate parents and treat everyone as if they're abusive .... it creates mistrust about people you meet every day. Besides who has access to this information? People who can't be honest about their dealings, finances, behaviours?
And let's not forget that everyone thought Jim 'it was good while it lasted' Savile was a nice old bloke. This data collection is like giving Jimmy the keys and all day access.
