View Full Version : We Have Forgotten

We have forgotten what it's like to smile and laugh in a public place.

We have forgotten how to simply sit in nature and allow her to open herself to us, to share her wondrous creatures, her Divine beauty.

We have forgotten what it's like to let our children run and play in public places without having to fear for their safety and well being.

We have forgotten what it's like to experiment, to day dream, to imagine.

We have forgotten what it's like to live in a perfectly healthy body without any trace of chronic pain or suffering.

We have forgotten what it's like to eat food freshly grown and picked and full of the vibrancy of life, never sprayed or genetically tampered with or frozen or homogenised or coloured or flavoured or blended or dried or dessicated or bottled or tinned.

We have forgotten what it's like to wake up every morning and to bounce out of bed, excited about what the new day holds for us.

We have forgotten what it's like to have leaders who are wise and knowledgeable, who make decisions based upon experience and according to their moral compass, who consider their right to lead as sacred, who hold the goodness and wellbeing of all in the highest measure.

We have forgotten what it's like to live in a society where we aren't judged for what we wear, for how we act, for how we think, for what we do and how we do it, for any perceived lack of conforming, acquiescing and towing the line.

We have forgotten what it's like to fall in love, to be in love with all of those around us, including other people, our surroundings and our Mother Earth.

We have forgotten what it's like to breath fresh air and drink pure and vibrant fresh water.

We have forgotten how to live a simple, uncomplicated and unrushed life close to nature and free from the burdens of 'modern' society.

We have forgotten what it's like to live without Time, to live without having to account for every hour, every minute, every second- to wake up when we wish to wake up, to sleep when we wish to sleep, to return to the natural rhythms of our bodies.

We have forgotten to honour and respect the feminine within our lives, to honour and respect deeply the birthing process, the depth of meaning and being that can be attained through the menstrual cycle, and the wisdom of the crone.

We have forgotten what it's like to respect our elders, the older, wiser generation, instead of ignoring them and sidelining them and eating away at their self worth for the sake of the newest trends and gizmos.

We have forgotten what it feels like to fully trust ourselves, others and the circumstances in our lives that lead us to greater truths and awareness.

We have forgotten the vast eons of our existence, the many lifetimes of falling and rising again, the signature of our soul.

We have forgotten how to treat each other with the dignity and respect that each of us deserve and crave for.

We have forgotten so many things.

Now is the time to remember. :)

Yes!!

And to ACT upon that remembrance, not to let it fade away as another urge UN-responded to...

Speak for yourself.

I have forgotten, Mark, and I so wish to remember.

I have forgotten what it's like to feel human, rather than a slave, in a system I do not understand. Why do people hurt and kill one another? Why?

I have forgotten what it's like to feel loved and cherished for who I am, not for how much I earn, what I own, or what position in society I have.

I've forgotten. What is innocence? What is joy? What is integrity?

Where is the light by which I can guide my ship to the shore? It has grown and faded many times in my life. Where is it now, when I most need it?

As a collective I believe this race has.
If we ever knew in the first place!

Oh, Telosain, you're much too young to be feeling that way. I think you need a vacation. Get yourself out into nature, maybe in a boat, and just chill for a bit.

"Why do people hurt and kill?" That's just the way it is. You can't do anything about other people. Only yourself.

"I have forgotten what it's like to feel loved and cherished for who I am...What is innocence? What is joy? What is integrity?" I suggest you get a dog. Or a cat.

"Where is the light?" It's inside you, and only you. If you try yoga, meditation, other similar things and they don't help, seek professional advice. You probably have a vitamin deficiency.

Maybe this will help: Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

1. Free your heart from hatred - Forgive.

2. Free your mind from worries - Most never happens.

3. Live simply and appreciate what you have.

4. Give more.

5. Expect less from people but more from yourself.

Or maybe you just need a hug. Here, I'm sending you one from the north. Hope it helps. I care. ((((TE))))

You do know, or how would you know what was missing?

It's a slight of hand. An issue of languaging. But if it's catharsis or a moment of dark night, I promise you you'll wake up any morning,
and realize it's lifted. It won't be anything you've done or decided. That sense of loss or longing is the fuel. Just let it burn up. This is a dream about lack and loss and suffering.
I know that doesn't just take it all away, but it's a fact, and you can keep that in mind if you choose to.
But all those things, innocence, joy and integrity are things that we discover, not things that we invent. Ways of being. Not things we had and somehow lost.
You have to have room in your glass to receive them, so let the fantasies drain out as they can. What you're expressing sounds to me, like really good work.

I like to share this poem. I've kept it in my wallet now for 30 years and it's kept me as well. It's by Hafiz;

Don't surrender your loneliness so quickly.
Let if ferment and season you,
as few human or even divine ingredients can.

Something missing in my heart tonight
has made my voice so soft, my eyes so tender,
my need for God, so absolutely clear.

Emphasis is mine. Cheers mate. Carry on.

I think we're all tired.
