Hey folks,
Dutchsinse has just uploaded this video, about 20 minutes ago.
It still needs confirmation, but if this isnīt some sort of glitch, itīs huge:

Is anyone able to confirm this?

-------
USGS automatically posts reports of earthquakes above 5.0 to the forum. (Look up threads "started by USGS" in the Forum's Advanced Search (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/search.php?search_type=1).)
Nothing was received or posted... and there's nothing about it on any of the earthquake sites. Once the autoreport had been sent, it could not be pulled back (just like an e-mail...) -- even if it was being covered up. (And for what reason that might happen, it's a little hard to imagine! Remember that a 9.9, which is nearly 10 times as large as a 9.0 and 100 times as large as an 8.0, is rather too huge to keep quiet about. :) )
Occam's Razor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam%27s_razor): an equipment or software malfunction that was quickly spotted.

Well I hope its a mistake--My wife's family live in Cameroon---level with the video position shown.
Think we would have had confirmation by now if this had happened.

This message just popped up on Dutchsince's FB page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Adepto-Perfectus-dutchsinse/133205960090078
GOOD NEWS! The 9.0M+ earthquake which showed up on the USGS feed ---- most likely some kind of anomaly or error in the feed ... there is the possibility it could have really happened -- at a large depth not producing any tsunami.
NO waves detected.. NO charts showing any movement (aside from the other regular EQ activity)... NO reports from locals.. NO msm reports...
All that being said.. something caused a 9.0 and a 5.0M to show on the feed.. then it was revised to a GREATER than 10.0M.. then disappeared off the feed.
Too strange.
Oklahoma had a 5.6M today --- which was wiped off the map (linked below here on facebook w/ screenshots and the data from IRIS).
Something going on? Lets hope not.

So, it was indeed a glitch in the system! :)
Mods, please, feel free to close this thread.
Cheers,
Raf.

I updated the thread title to include "(Update: just a glitch)".
So far, I don't see any particular need to close the thread, as in stop postings to it. It will fade away just as fast, either closed or not.
