5 Chi Kung Moves for Relaxation and Energy Movement
There are a lot of formal demonstrations and forms on the web. I offer a brief demonstration of how easy it is to run the energy through out your body, including chakras and meridians. Use any visualization you prefer. Most important is intention and focus.
I used these same movements with my students. They’d ask to do what they termed "calming/energy zaps" before a test in class or in preparation for next teacher's test. After a while, the kids reminded one another to just inhale, exhale; that triggered the relaxation.

Wikipedia’s Explanation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qigong):
Applications: People practice qigong for many different reasons, including for exercise and recreation, prevention and self-healing, meditation and self-cultivation, and training for martial arts.
Qigong, chi kung, or chi gung (simplified Chinese: 气功; traditional Chinese: 氣功; pinyin: qěgōng; Wade–Giles: chi4 gong1; literally "Life Energy Cultivation") is a practice of aligning breath, movement, and awareness for exercise, healing, and meditation.[1] With roots in Chinese medicine, martial arts, and philosophy, qigong is traditionally viewed as a practice to cultivate and balance qi (chi) or what has been translated as "intrinsic life energy".[2] Typically a qigong practice involves rhythmic breathing coordinated with slow stylized repetition of fluid movement, a calm mindful state, and visualization of guiding qi through the body.[3] Qigong is now practiced throughout China and worldwide, and is considered by some to be exercise, and by others to be a type of alternative medicine or meditative practice.[4] From a philosophical perspective qigong is believed to help develop human potential, allow access to higher realms of awareness, and awaken one's "true nature".[5]

Do some research on who in your area is good at clearing blockages. Try to find out who local energy practitioners see when they need help.
It's not as simple as bang, you're unblocked. It's old accumulated patterns of thinking and responding to stimulus. Not such a drama when they're revealed, but they're well hidden from you.
Or you're aware of them, and don't realize how they effect you. You might even find that you were fully aware of them. You just needed to address them.
If the person who 'read' your aura and identified a block didn't have a suggestion of what to do, or the wherewith to help you, I'd be suspicious of that individuals knowledge, talent, and agenda.
Then again, virtually everyone is energetically sluggish or blocked in the lower three chakras. Lightworkers who refer to themselves as lightworkers rather famously avoid their issues with being human.
A good therapist is honest, pragmatic, and speaks to you in your own language. If they inundate you with spiritual concepts and rhetoric, leave.
Modalities like Reiki can momentarily boost energy, or balance it, but it's not necessarily a solution. I'd look for someone who uses some type of psychotherapy, and a devining method like
kinesiology, where they're not reading your psychic field, but communicating with your whole Self directly, or clairvoyantly with your guidance.
There's a big huge vast difference between information gathered from your psychic field, and information that comes from Spirit.
Just bare in mind that your healing is a personal process, and it has a timing of it's own. Any stone left unturned, is a stone that will lie there until you're ready to address it.
The point being readiness, which isn't necessarily under your control. Actually, it isn't at all, though you participate. The fact is that you are being prepared to address the next issues as you pass through the current ones.
No one can do that for you, but there are guys who can help you along the way. You might consider doing nothing. It's not a 'problem'. It's a process.
Here's a free suggestion; misinterpreted responsibility can carry on undetected and keep you blocked for a long time, because this culture still misidentifies and perverts the idea of responsibility.
You could be storing something a hundred thousand years old, or a year old. You are responsible for you and how you treat people. That's it.
NOT how you've been treated in the past. And NOT for any outcomes in the past or in the present.

Here is a simple technique that is so mundane you may think there is no way it will benefit you. Go outside and remove your socks and shoes . Imagine your feet attached to the center of the earth and through the top of your head. The technique of pulling energy from the earth is called "earthing" or "grounding" and there is scientific data to back up the benefits. In your case the benefit would be the movement of energy. It can also provide antioxidant benefits. It is best if you can do this near water or better yet directly at the shoreline. This of course is not a total fix. Markpierre is right on the money about the whole picture of energy blockage.

Hi markpierre,
Thank you for your very thorough input. I really appreciate it.
The energy healer did provide her services, and suggested "band-aid" methods to deal with my block until I was ready to commit myself to a "clearing".
She also told me this is not something she can do alone, but that I have to be fully committed to work with her to deal with my own issues.
She told me this is a self-imposed block I have done to myself :( But I guess I already knew that in some level.
I would say this is the right time for me to deal with this, because this is something that has been in the back of my mind for a few months, but I have finally taken the first step to being proactive about it.
However, since I know very little on this subject, I am doing research on this, so my wallet is not taken on a little joyride. ;)

I find the audo bytes are great at dislodging basic excess energetic junk by a system of chakra tearing. This is done with a phase cncellarion betwn frequencies. The one by dr nepal is particularly good at this as he has cleverly sweeped frequencies while beating them.
This phase cancellation and beating is a disruptor wave and sets off basic un needed energetic constructs slowing the chakra whel from turning. The muldhara video i find very relaxing. While i listen to it i tend to drift off and answers come to me in this relaxed state. More often than not i get hints as to why the blockage is there. This in turn helps me to focus my investigations.,
More times than not unbocking is facilitated by having some relief to see past a blinding drama into the root cause.
Then defining the cause as a package to let go. Forgiveness is the key first step once you have found the root cause.
Karma works similarly as it does not actually fully happn till you have exersised forgiveness. One you have let go of the root cause you will be cleared at a better rate.
Try this, while listening to the muldhara video, find your root chakra and do small tearing movements over the top of the chakra in an anti clockwise movement. Like you were tearing little pieces of paper.
This disrupts the " crust " formed on the outside of the chakra. This will give you some relief till you find the root cuse.
Enjoy

I had my aura read by someone and I am being told my root chakra is blocked. Would it be possible for a newb like me to clear this on my own, or would the services of an energy worker be advised?
I would appreciate the input of my family here at Avalon. :o
Did you believe them?
What does it mean to you?
All of us have, at this time and place, an energy system that distorts the pure essence, the "light" of the unmanifest as we bring it into the manifest through the prisms of our being - its what makes each of us different.
To me saying your root chakra is blocked, is a very gross and out of context judgement.
I would tread carefully with information and judgements like this and try to see them in a wider context.
Yes things can go wrong and when they do, things can be done to fix it.
However, first you need to understand that if something is wrong, there is a reason for it. Figure that out and the healing can/will follow.

Regarding chakras - I have been resonating with what George Kavassilas is saying that maybe we don't need to 'think' this way anymore - here is a recent Red Ice interview where he speaks about this http://www.redicecreations.com/radio/2012/11/RIR-121104.php

I would tend to agree with Anchor. Im not sure about the accuracy of the aura pics but admittedly i havent studied them much.
If what was told to you feels right then by all means look into it. It cant hurt to have a tune up.
And what George Ksavalasallis says about the chakra systems is a bit vague. He tends to believe that they are there for manipulation but this can be true of many things. You can be manipulated by drinking poisoned water, does this mean we need to stop using our mouths? No.
The subtle body is a vast system of energetic hubs. They can be worked with or go a bit wonky and yes they too can be manipulated but you can over ride this with knowledge and study., as it stands we are being manipulated all the time anyway. Either with negative tv programming or fear porn its all a manipulation. Its also up to you to ignore this stuff.
Wether we like it or not we have a chakra system, so you may as well learn how to use it.
Cheers

This may or may not help.
In this modern world we tend to become...speedy people. We become anxious and stressed, so that tension builds up in the body, and we feel 'tight' in the head, throat, heart, or stomach area. And that is the cause of some dis-ease. Chakras are to do with what some call the subtle body, which when out of balance creates problems for us.
Here I am going to describe the Tibetan system.
Wind, bile and phlegm.
The problem most of us have is wind problems called loong. There is a wind, its place is four fingers below the navel, and that is its home. What happens when we are anxious is that it rises to an upper body area. We can actually feel this happening! This merely gently has to be brought back down. Here is a poor video describing the process.

Hi Anchor,
Yes I do believe her, because she pointed things out to me that need releasing, and confirmed things that I already knew, but was not able to put a finger on it.
I may have oversimplified in my description of the situation in my OP. She did tell me about issues that I need to address, and I believe it will be my homework to face some old issues I am still carrying.
Yes, I am being careful about this, and my family here in Avalon is where I come to for guidance. :)
So I do thank you from the bottom of my heart for your valuable advice.

Hi Nanoo,
I have been listening to the audio bytes you have recommended. The other night I listened to them while getting on my Chi machine.
About three minutes into the session, I was knocked out cold while my feet were jerking back and forth on that machine. The whole session was about 15 minutes long, and I usually fall asleep AFTER the machine stops, not in the middle of the session. There is something to the sound bytes combined to the movements of the machine. Uhm~ ;)

Hmmm
I would say the rythm of the machine and the sound bite may have combined to creade a delta wave which can really knock you out. I fall asleep with just the muldhara sound byte.
