(Reuters) - The system of so-called "shadow banking," blamed by some for aggravating the global financial crisis, grew to a new high of $67 trillion (42 trillion pounds) globally last year, a top regulatory group said, calling for tighter control of the sector.
A report by the Financial Stability Board (FSB) on Sunday appeared to confirm fears among policymakers that shadow banking is set to thrive, beyond the reach of a regulatory net tightening around traditional banks and banking activities.
I'm amazed to see this kind of news to hit the damned MSM news.

That last sentence in your excerpt should be the wake-up call to the masses.
Translated for the layman, that means: "Experts appear to confirm fears that all regulatory bodies will be forced or co-erced by the criminal elite into being allowed to continue the practices that are destroying the world's economies at humanity's expense."
Time to start pressuring our governments, more and more on the illegal banking that they have allowed to proliferate.

We should abollish the federal reseave act, and kick the world bank out of our country, and then fine them, alll of the money they have stolen from us over the past 99 years. Abolish the irs, right along with it, and then implement a 5% sales tax to pay the bills. Fully dissclose the real science program, take free energy public, and start producing antigravity cars and get this show on the road. What we really need, is a kick ass King that will get it done. This government by the people bull**** ain't workin, because nobody will get off their dead ass and help. Gimme a beer Ethyl, the games on............

I think relying on "Kings" is what got us into this mess .... ;) We need less of a pyramid and more of ACTIVE community (i.e. everyone complains but who's taking action?). But you are definitely right about what needs to be done. ;)

You are right about kings. When we fire the lot of them, we do need to make a few changes though. Both the house and Senate, need term limits, Their payroll should be controled by a vote of the people, and when they retire they should only be given Double (for serving their country) that which the people draw in SS Income, and not be able to draw from it until retirement age. We need to kick all of the carrier lobbyists out of the house, and make lobbyists only able to represent the group that they are from. No carrier lobbyists. Erase all Presidential executive orders and make it illeagl for them to do so.
A President, could "fix" everything, in 4 years.
I'll tell ya the rest, when I become president. cccccccc.

Yes it is good such an article appeared in msm. Polish media took the bait as well ;) They called it a "financial weapon of mass destruction". But i think it is a distraction made by a Chief Distractor W.Buffet. I bet he makes some obscene profits out of the "shadow banking" (A thief cries "Catch the thief!"). The distraction is from the bigger time bomb of ticking derivatives market. Estimated by BIS to be worth of ca $600 trillion in assets based on thin air.

It is time to call this nonsense the scam it is. The only value is real goods and labor. Every thing else is make believe monopoly money that clowns in suits and ties want to convince us is real. The world will stop without their fake money? No, only real people doing real work, like making and growing real food, can stop things.

After we fine the monopoly money makers. They could then be arrested for crimes against humanity, and later after the court finds them guilty, they could then be hung live on the main stream news media at 5:00 pm. I would watch the news on that day.

They do deserve such treatment, WF. If such a fate befell some of them as angry crowds gathered them up, so be it and fuq them. However, as a spectacle, or ritual killing, we all deserve better than to watch or wish it. Leaving them to find what mercy they could find, or righteous anger, wandering as non-persons with no rights, no official protection. As harsh as that sounds, they would find more mercy from us than we did from them. They are sociopaths to a person in too many cases. We are largely decent people. They have some good and we have some bad, but the generalizations are valid. Things would find a balance and cleansing would take place.
And then, let us remember how we all got here, for as Merlin says in "Excalibur" the movie, "It is the doom of men that they forget."

Am I missing something or is that a proverbial "Problem - Reaction - Solution?"
Wonder who's gonna benefit from that "tighter control?"

Why such indignation against the banksters? WE gave it to them!
We overspent, bankrupted the planet, filed bankruptcy, gave everything to them as collateral, are in receivership to them, and owe them everything.
Yes, a case could be made that we were coerced, manipulated, hybridized, brainwashed, lied to, F'ked with, tortured, burned at the stake, murdered, threatened, starved, stolen from and forced to acquiesce.
We acquiesced. The only way to stop acquiescing is to rebut the presumption and stop acquiescing to them. We did it, we need to take responsibility for it.
Timmy Boy says we should eliminate the debt ceiling and go for debt infinity, just like to QE infinity.
(CNSNews.com) - Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said Friday that Congress should stop placing legal limits on the amount of money the government can borrow and effectively lift the debt limit to infinity.
On Bloomberg TV, “Political Capital” host Al Hunt asked Geithner if he believes “we ought to just eliminate the debt ceiling.”
“Oh, absolutely,” Geithner said.

So, lets rush into total slavery and a One World Government plantation as fast as we can, eh Timmy?
I just read this PDF. today, as it was recommended to me by someone I have studied all this stuff with over the last several years, and it is a fairly good synopsis and was a great refresher for me. It's not an easy read, but it can get someone up to speed fairly quickly if they still believe there is representative government and that the banksters don't control everything.
It's called "The Greatest Story Never Told"

I skipped the chapter on being a Christian, but the rest of it is basically sound.

Grip... you scared me!
I thought you were referring to that other "Greatest Story that was Never told" either: Lana Cantrell - The Greatest Story Never Told (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?51524-Lana-Cantrell-The-Greatest-Story-Never-Told&highlight=The+Greatest+Story+Never+Told) until then...
