The natives fed the starving Europeans who might have not made it through the Winter. Goes to show the consequences of some decisions. Even being kind.
The natives and turkeys.
Something to ponder.
For Europeans it is definitely a day to be very thankful.
For me, predominantly European, any day will suffice.

Thank you Camilo. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. People are not expecting gifts, etc. It is a time that you really spend with friends and family. It is a time to appreciate what you have, not what you want. Plus, you get to eat all you want, and don't have to feel guilty... I hate that retail is open now on that day... The greedy corporations are at it once again. I hope that changes back again to limit thoughts of materialism on that day. I won't be shopping tomorrow if I can help it.

Happy Thansgiving to all. We have so much to be grateful for. I would be the first to admit this year has been so challenging for my family and me. That said, it is a matter of perspective and attitude. I choose to be grateful for all the wonderful things, forgive the bad, forget the really crappy stuff and keep a happy, positive attitude.

i hear you on that note. it has been a tough year. and the retail barrage that is being poured on is so ridiculous. i hope that everyone cancels black friday - save the shopping for another time. purchase 1/3 of what they did the year before, (which is what the actual dollar power is worth right now, anyway) - and start taking control back in an unforgiving (your not getting the paper wads in my wallet) kind of way. let them fold! i will be thinking of this while i am spending time with my children, my mother and my friends tomorrow - and i will be grinning from ear to ear. happy thanksgiving everyone. enjoy your time with your loved ones. they are the only ones that matter.
kindest warmth and regards, corson

Condolences corson, Bella looks very cute-- what sweet face. Animals leave a huge space in our lives when they aren't there any more.
