I've been waiting for this to appear on U/tube since i watched it live yesterday.
Julian went on to promote his co authored book. But Zenieb was provocative
from the start, and asked questions to provoke Julian which backfired and
he was able to put over his point and make Zenieb seem silly !!

It also made me feel angry and uneasy !!

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has spoken about his battle against extradition to Sweden in a rare and defiant interview with the BBC from the Ecuadorean embassy in London.

Mr Assange sought refuge at the embassy in June, to avoid extradition for questioning over allegations of rape and sexual assault, which he denies. He has remained there since and was granted asylum by Ecuador in August.

He spoke to the BBC's Zeinab Badawi about the claims, as well as the case of Private Bradley Manning - currently facing a US Army trial for allegedly giving secret files to Wikileaks - and about freedom of speech.

Wouldn't be the first time someone has made that twit look silly - she IS :)

Add Piers Morgan and the fools on FOX to the list as well - they're just a bad excuse for journalism ;)

My, he does an excellent job of giving her the hell which she and the BBC deserved.

How much actual airplay did this get?

The full interview was played on the BBC news channel 80 and I caught it by sheer luck, flicking thru the channels
as males do every now and again ..LOL..

It is posted on the web page ,but only a fraction was shown on BBC1 /2 I think.

its great how he brings up gary mckinnon..

Yes he quoted that back at her, but she was not listening to him and talking over his replies !

It was as if a producer was telling her what to say and pin him down, in her ear piece and they were out of cinque ...

When Julian said I am on here to discuss the book, she cut him off and said we will discuss it later, and never did.

She kept trying to embarress him by saying why don't you go to Sweden ? As if she is the only journalist in the

world who does not know the answer !! No wonder Julian said later " How can you say these things and pretend

to be a journalist "....I have listened to this half a dozen times and still , i cannot believe the attitude of supposed

independent interviewer !!

LOL... Journalists? JOURNALISTS?? you say? Most are little more than Eye Candy Presenters with an IQ of a parsely plant, who do little in real research, other than what they are told to say by their Stations - voice their own agendas or "popular opinions" = mind control or in many cases, self-promoting egos for ratings - and that's what it's all about really... $$$,

There are of course, some excellent journalists out there too!

- I will learn to be a Jedi ;)

i know what you are saying Kiwi' , But Zeinib is an experianced journalist/ new reader and should have known better ..

The more times I listened to it , she was caught in the middle of someone speaking in her earphone telling her to

press Julian. Which is worse , someone was setting him up. He went on to promote his book and they never let

him.He managed to flash it for a few seconds.....It would be funny if it was not a serious issue...LOL..

Zeineb is not a young 'newbie' learning her trade or the standard news reader....

The Beeb were up to no good !!! ..LOL...( I'l get over it with some theropy )..LOL..

Also this CNN interview: "Julian Assange appeared on CNN's "OutFront with Erin Burnett" on November 28, 2012. He discusses his new book "Cypherpunks", the mass surveillance state, and Bradley Manning." Same situation: Despite the journalist insistence, he keeps going.

What is really interesting is the information Julian Assange is trying to convey. In this interview, he talks about:

- control and mass spying occurring in the internet
- 5 million in national security system (state within a state)
- Bradley Manning abuse
- nation wide interception systems

The interview goes downhill from 6:45, when Erin Burnett insists on two questions about his health and his opinion on Ecuador's freedom of expression situation, which he refuses to answer.

He ends with: "This is a state change. We are intercepted permanently. If we don't do something about it, we all run the risk of loosing the democracy that we treasured for so long."

As compelling a sounding case Assange seems to make in the face of utter BBC drivel, I'll caution all against becoming an army of Assangeists. He's not only dragging Ecuador into a karmic fight, he's also dragging feminism into a karmic fight that will only serve the very people we all know are clapping and cheering this drama.

Norman please, explain the feminism dragging, you lost me there.

Kiwielf,
Eye Candy Presenters with an IQ of a parsely plant, you are wrong, parsley is good for health and has antibacterial agents (she would be dead by now), I love parsley.

Flash: hi,

I say dragging feminism into a karmic fight because, I personally suspect that there are feminists all over the world waiting and watching to see how the Swedish allegation factor turns out.

Many will hear him loud and clear however strong her ridiculous chatter was... amazing. And to think he is giving his life to defend what she does for a living. She should indeed be embarrassed by her leading and unschooled questions and for being a cog in the wheel of the silent media. I'm still amazed.

From the Heart,
Kristin

Kiwielf, who is that twit ?

Ooops my badd, I meant Zeniab... [is or has become a twit] ;) - as a more experienced interviewer, she should have done better than that ;) and after seeing the way Piers Morgan attacked Jesse Ventura who (deservedly) trashed him, my (little) respect for Morgan went out the door too. ;)
