Got to Land here despite all my reluctance,

Newtown was proud to have an eminent citizen among them.

When my tiny Owls came Om with the creation of that prominent person who leaped to the top as an author with 3 books I SCREEECH so loud it provoqued goose pimples in the surroundings.

A trilogy that promote destructive forces of our children had encounter in her own Town the return of Boomerang.

Suzanne Collins author of Hunger games is this eminent personnality of Newtown.

Boomerang Khand Guru reality is indeed a fact.

May she now move far far away and never make the same mistake

Suzanne Collins

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Suzanne Collins (born August 10, 1962) is an American (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States) television writer and novelist, best known as the author of The New York Times (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New_York_Times) best selling series The Underland Chronicles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Underland_Chronicles) and The Hunger Games trilogy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hunger_Games_trilogy) (which consists of The Hunger Games (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hunger_Games), Catching Fire (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catching_Fire), and Mockingjay (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mockingjay)).

Early life

Collins was born on August 10, 1962 in Hartford, Connecticut. She is the daughter of a U.S. Air Force (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Air_Force) officer who served in the Vietnam War (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vietnam_War). As the daughter of a military officer, she and her family were constantly moving. She spent her childhood in the eastern U.S.[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-air_force-2) She attended high school at the Alabama School of Fine Arts (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alabama_School_of_Fine_Arts), where she was a Theater Arts major. She graduated from Indiana University (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indiana_University) with a double major in Drama and Telecommunications.[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-fourth-3)[4] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-fifth-4)

Collins' career began in 1991 as a writer for children's television (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children%27s_television) shows.[5] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-official-5) She worked on several television shows for Nickelodeon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nickelodeon_%28TV_channel%29), including Clarissa Explains It All (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clarissa_Explains_It_All), The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mystery_Files_of_Shelby_Woo), Little Bear (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Bear_%28TV_series%29), and Oswald (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oswald_%28TV_series%29).[5] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-official-5) She was also the head writer for Scholastic Entertainment's Clifford's Puppy Days (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clifford%27s_Puppy_Days).[5] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-official-5) She received a Writers Guild of America (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Writers_Guild_of_America) nomination in animation for co-writing the critically acclaimed Christmas special, Santa, Baby![6] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-scholastic-6)
After meeting children's author James Proimos while working on the Kids' WB (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kids%27_WB) show Generation O! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generation_O%21), Collins was inspired to write children's books (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children%27s_literature) herself.[5] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-official-5) Her inspiration for Gregor the Overlander (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregor_the_Overlander), the first book of The New York Times (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New_York_Times) best selling series The Underland Chronicles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Underland_Chronicles), came from Alice in Wonderland (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_in_Wonderland), when she was thinking about how one was more likely to fall down a manhole than a rabbit hole, and would find something other than a tea party.[5] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-official-5)[6] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-scholastic-6) Between 2003 and 2007 she wrote the five books of the Underland Chronicles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Underland_Chronicles): Gregor the Overlander (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregor_the_Overlander), Gregor and the Prophecy of Bane (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregor_and_the_Prophecy_of_Bane), Gregor and the Curse of the Warmbloods (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregor_and_the_Curse_of_the_Warmbloods), Gregor and the Marks of Secret (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregor_and_the_Marks_of_Secret), and Gregor and the Code of Claw (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregor_and_the_Code_of_Claw). During that time, Collins also wrote a rhyming picture book, When Charlie McButton Lost Power (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=When_Charlie_McButton_Lost_Power&action=edit&redlink=1) (2005), illustrated by Mike Lester.[5] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-official-5)
In September 2008, Scholastic Press (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scholastic_Press) released The Hunger Games (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hunger_Games), the first book of a trilogy by Collins.[7] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-7) The Hunger Games was partly inspired by the Greek myth of Theseus and the Minotaur (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theseus#Theseus_and_the_Minotaur). Another inspiration was her father's career in the Air Force (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_Force), which allowed her to have better understanding of poverty, starvation, and the effects of war.[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-air_force-2) The trilogy's second book, Catching Fire (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catching_Fire_%282009_novel%29), was released in September 2009, and its third book, Mockingjay (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mockingjay), was released on August 24, 2010.[8] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-8) Within 14 months, 1.5 million copies of the first two Hunger Games books were printed in North America (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_America) alone.[9] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-collins-9) The Hunger Games has been on The New York Times Best Seller list for more than 60 weeks in a row.[9] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-collins-9) Lions Gate Entertainment (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lions_Gate_Entertainment) acquired worldwide distribution rights to a film adaptation of The Hunger Games (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hunger_Games_%28film%29), produced by Nina Jacobson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nina_Jacobson)'s Color Force production company.[10] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-Hungry-10)[11] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-Lionsgate-11) Collins adapted the novel for film herself.[11] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-Lionsgate-11) Directed by Gary Ross (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Ross), filming began in late spring 2011, with Jennifer Lawrence (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jennifer_Lawrence) portraying main character Katniss Everdeen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katniss_Everdeen).[12] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-12) Josh Hutcherson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josh_Hutcherson) played Peeta Mellark (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peeta_Mellark) and Liam Hemsworth (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liam_Hemsworth) played Gale Hawthorne (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gale_Hawthorne).[13] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-HungerGamesFan.com-13)
As a result of the significant popularity of The Hunger Games books, Collins was named one of Time magazine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_%28magazine%29)'s most influential people of 2010.[14] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-time-14) In March 2012, Amazon announced that Collins had become the best-selling Kindle author of all time.[15] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-15) Amazon also revealed that Collins had written 29 of the 100 most highlighted passages in Kindle ebooks—and on a separate Amazon list of recently highlighted passages, Collins had written 17 of the top 20.[16] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-16)

Collins resides in Sandy Hook, Connecticut (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandy_Hook_%28Newtown%29), with her husband and their two children.[5] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-official-5) She is a Roman Catholic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Catholic).[17] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Collins#cite_note-17)

Khand, Khan means, regions, realms, zone, district. Tolkien knew about khand.

Khand was the name of a land which lay to the south-east of Mordor (http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Mordor) and to the east of Near Harad (http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Near_Harad).[1] (http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Khand#cite_note-0) The Men (http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Men) of Khand were called Variags (http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Variags).[2] (http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Khand#cite_note-Pelennor-1)
[edit (http://tolkiengateway.net/w/index.php?title=Khand&action=edit&section=1)] History

Little is known about Khand or its people, but it appears to have been much like Rohan (http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Rohan); the Variags were a people of riders.
The people of Khand and of Rhûn (http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Rh%C3%BBn) seemed to have been enemies on and off throughout the ages, but made a peace treaty to unite together against Gondor (http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Gondor).
Khand was under the influence of Mordor and supplied it with horses, and twice came into the history of Gondor: first in T.A. (http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Third_Age) 1944 (http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Third_Age_1944) when the Variags together with the Wainriders (http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Wainriders) attacked Gondor,[3] (http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Khand#cite_note-2) and later during the War of the Ring (http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/War_of_the_Ring) when they fought at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields (http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Battle_of_the_Pelennor_Fields). They were held in reserve in Osgiliath (http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Osgiliath) and were sent onto the battlefield by Gothmog (http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Gothmog_%28Lieutenant_of_Morgul%29) after the death of the Witch King (http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Witch_King). The Variags were eventually driven back by the Knights of Dol Amroth (http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Dol_Amroth).[2] (http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Khand#cite_note-Pelennor-1)
It is probable that Khand gradually fell under the control of Gondor during the Fourth Age (http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Fourth_Age) and was hostile to it no longer.

In Sanskrit. "Khand" means "land, region"

Sanscrit is prior to ulterior meaning alteration in Asia.

Does it matter whether the title of this thread has "Khand" or "Khan" in it?

(I can change thread titles, when need be.)
