I need your loving, healing prayers

I am writing to request a favour - your loving, healing prayers for a matter which is very disruptive to my life.

I live in a co-ownership building. My unit is directly below the unit of a couple that has troubled me on many levels, for years. These are "neighbours from hell".

I have finally had enough and ended up writing a letter to the management voicing my complaints. The management has written a letter to them. This should make me feel better, but because they are sociopaths, I fear repercussions. I now don't know if I did the wise thing or if I should have continued living with the trouble they've been causing me.

Needless to say, I am feeling much trepidation and consternation.

I know others have asked for your prayers and you have been very kind in sending out your thoughts of good will. I ask now that you may do the same for me so that this matter may end peacefully and with no further altercations.

A couple of you have suggested i move, this would seem to make sense, but aside from the highly disruptive people upstairs, I really feel this is my home for now. I've lived here over 20 years and I own my unit so moving does not feel like an option at this point and who knows what I might find elsewhere! Pretty much everyone else in the building is very agreeable. It's a beautiful old low rise building with much character and the residents are a mix of artists of different disciplines, writers, teachers, professors, an engineer, an architect, a small business owner, etc.,. All in all it's a very interesting mix of intelligent and friendly beings. The exception seems to be the ones who live above me! How on earth did I end up in this situation?

I'd like to remain here because this is home for now. I just want peace and quiet and I pray that as I ask for this now more than ever, I shall receive it now.

I can certainly have empathy for you. My elderly mother moved into a two story condo complex. The unit above has always been rented by the owners, often to people to party too hard or keep weird hours. The current tenant is a prostitute and drug dealer. The must use cocaine, because they never sleep. She has called the police 5 times. The management will do nothing about it, offering to send warning letters but never following through. I've suggested to mom that she consider a lawsuit against the condo owner and the condo association for failing to act. There is Covenant of Quiet Enjoyment, a precedent in law that is held to prevent this kind of disruption.

My best advice to my mom was to try and not focus on the noise and disruption, to pretend it doesn't happen. This has helped a little, but not a final solution.

This is a difficult situation. Is there anyway you & your other neighbours can join together and have some sort of "intervention" or will this just make things worse? If you know their names, why not go to a private investigator and see if they have any arrest warrants, etc.

I do know their names, but for the time being I am hoping and praying that the letter from management will deliver a message that they will listen to. It's been very peaceful since the letter was sent 2 days ago. I hope it's not the calm before the storm. I will simply wait and see if anything happens next. Maybe they will realize they have been trouble and it's time to stop. I've been sending them good thoughts and forgiving them in my heart. I don't think they're criminals. They're just extremely disrespectful and inconsiderate and they continuously lie.
