The Ego has had His day, it is time, to get it in the backseat It has no place in the mind, it's place is in the body, to serve and protect it. In the mind it has become destructive.
It may be hard to believe, but the lyrics and music of Nine Inch Nails has actually assisted in my awakening. Trent wrote about the ego quite often in his songs. It may not be obvious and seem like everyday hard rock angst, at first but if you knew the band well you can see it is more of writings about his personal inner turmoils -- ego and spirit, within him ... lyrics have explicit content.
This song and multimedia performance appeals to me as the "reflections of an Ego"
