I agree that sometimes there is no conspiracy - but you have to think through the whole thing and eliminate the possibilities to know this for sure. When many of us put a theory out there, we know, in all probability, it is just a possibility, and might even be hoping for someone to prove that our idea couldn't be true. Once that happens, we can cross that possibility off our list.

This place is like a college class that expects you to not only do your current home work, but at times play catch up and do catch up on home work from years past.
It's kind of an accelerated course at times, and unfortunatly it takes time and effort to do the home work.

There tend to be two specializations in the back ground of folks who come to Avalon, Spirituality or Conspiracy Research.
Too often I see folks of one specialization give the middle finger to folks focusing on another area of speculation.

I don't think this kind of behavior is rocking the boat, it's trying to kick holes in the side of the boat.
This kind of talk left unchecked often makes other folks with opposing opinions too afraid to post.
Especially when prominant members are giving their approval of said behavior.

There is a way to voice your opinion and there is just acting out.
If the OP of this thread had an argument with any of the topics he brought up, then address a single topic and offer an opinion in a constructive manner with links and or sources, the behavior demonstrated by the creation of this thread is childish, destructive and divisive.

The OP here in my view, and why I thanked it, was a reaction to a certain extremism in the conspiracy theory approach. I think the logic goes like this:

Everything which happens is linked. Therefore there is no such thing as coincidence, any apparent connections are evidence of synchronicity. Therefore it is correct to connect any two events through cause and effect. This may be true, but we have to guard against how we connect them, and ensure that our thinking does not become uncontrolled and extreme!

As an example, a lady came on here the other day and asked what was the connection between two disasters both having the name Sandy in them- in other words, a common cause. I wouldn't say there was any connection because of the names. If my daughter sandy had fallen off her bike and grazed her knee at the same time- would that be linked to the actions of the cabal?

At the same time, we quasi buddhist types should avoid egotism in our posts, and not show off how clever we think we are, when all we are demonstating really is that our egos are out of control and we are unaware of the matter (this is aimed at me BTW).

Anyways, we are all Avalonians, we have survived 21/12 and hopefully we still bought the Christmas prezzies just in case.

I think some of this stuff can make you feel, ungrounded and well, quite uncomfortable. Some of the deeper rabbit hole stuff is quite threatening on multiple levels.

My first entry point into the fringe would be spirituality, and then ghosts and questioning the after life that kind of thing.
Then I jumped on board the UFO scene, and I was amazed at how folks who would entertain the notion of one being possible would consider you a wingnut for believing the other was possible.
Then 9/11 happened, and the whole thing smelled like crap from the get go, I didn't need Alex Jones to tell me this was a controlled demolition, it was obvious, but then Alex came out with the building seven thing and it was like a no brainer.

9/11 caused me to question the Government and the motives there in like never before, and that is when I stumbled on to the MKULTRA stuff.
At first my reactions were like the OP of this thread, I refused to acknowledge this as a reality and or possibility, because people just were not that evil, especially not Americans.
But, a good friend online in another forum had me start checking out the Cathy O'Brien stuff, and well, it appears this stuff is real and that is all there is to it.

It was 9/11 that did it for me. I am a structural engineer and I have lots of experience designing and constructing high rise buildings. When I watched the way the buildings came down my first thought was WTF was that? I didn't need to hear the stuff about the cut walls to know that no building would come down like that from a fire up at high level and that only a controlled demolition could bring it down so neatly. But the alternative was:

1. We were just witnessing the telling of the biggest lie in the history of lies; and
2. The US government was either incapable of conducting a proper cover-up, or didn't care how poor the cover-up was because no-one would believe it was a cover-up.

It took the structural engineering profession nearly 10 years to come up with a BS theory to explain the collapse, and no professional engineer could fail to see through the BS. And yet, they do.

For me, this was a huge issue and it took me months to settle down in my mind what I really thought. However, I would not speak about this to any other structural engineer as they would dismiss me as a nut. I don't think they are brainwashed or mind controlled per se, they just could not bring themselves to understand the scale of the deception.

Scotland has a very low level of gun ownership I wonder how the overall murder rate here would compare with countries with a high % of gun ownership.
Possibly many own guns out of fear---- fear and guns or any kind of weapon are a bad combination.
Quite a few young people carry knives out of fear--- some have even been killed with their own knives through getting into a fight.
Responsibility does not always come with advancing years.

I tried to look into this and found vastly conflicting stats so it wasn't worth posting (although you are right, Scotland has almost no guns at all compared to Canada). There seems to be a common denominator in violent crimes vs overall population more than anything ... guns appear to have little to do with it. I could kill someone with a pencil if I wanted to -- I know exactly where to stick it. I don't need a gun to kill someone. and giving me a gun will not remotely motivate me to kill someone more than my pencil does.

Chris says it well --- fear levels determines levels of violence and death. Period. And then think about how "sick" our leaders and media outlest are and what their true agenda is ... guns and pencils have nothing to do with it.

Ok I found some stats that might give some good indications here. I am using Canada - as a country full of guns (about .25 to .75 guns per person (many don't register their hunting rifles or just have some old ones they never registered so hard to say exactly how many are in Canada, but there is a lot), vs Scotland, which has almost no guns at all.

Out of all Countries in the world for Scotland:
Homicide: 12th
Rape: 11th
Robbery: 23rd
Assault resulting in serious injury: 1st
Burglary: 22nd
Vehicle theft: 18th

Scotland vs Canada directly ...
Homicide: Scotland 1.6 per 100,000 people vs Canada 1.8 per 100,000 people
Rape: Scotland 17 per 100,000 vs Canada about 1.4
Robbery: Scotland 48 vs Canada 96 per 100,000
Serious assault: Scotland 1487 vs Canada 170
Burglary: Scotland 458 vs Canada 611
Vehicle thefts: Scotland 179 vs Canada 321

The above records are based on police reports, and all are per 100,000 population.


Number of guns in Scotland: 5 per 100 people
Number of guns in Canada 31 per 100 people (conservative estimate, as this number may be up to 2X from what I have read in other sources)

Does removing guns help make an overall safer society? Not by these stats nor any other one could use as a comparison, but if you take one single meaningless stat out of the whole picture -- let's say "deaths by gun" -- you can easily twist that stat to make people believe what you are saying is true. Reminds me of Pierce Morgan vs Alex Jones ... Pierce had only one single factoid in his entire arsenal -- and that was it.
