Hello my fellow Avalonians :grouphug:
I just wanted to stop by and thank everyone for the tremendous amount of energy everybody is putting into this site and for making it one of my favourite places to spend a few hours reading and learning.
When i first joined the site i had the notion that i would spend my time getting to know some of you first by reading back through your old threads and posts but it very quickly became clear it was going to be a mammoth undertaking and i had bitten off more than i could chew with that particular idea.
What did become clear early on though was how difficult i was going to find it to post. There is such an incredible depth of insight and experience circulating around the site it is nigh on impossible for a simple soul like myself to join in with any of the discussions. It's difficult to explain it properly but the quality of the posts is so high (and rightly so, this is what Mr.Ryan has requested the site be about) it makes me feel intellectually inadequate. It makes me wonder how many others there are like myself who joined the site with enthusiastic intentions only to find themselves viewing rather than participating. I suppose in a large family dynamic there are always going to be a number of quiet ones who never say much but you know they are thinking something !
Without doubt i have thoroughly enjoyed all the reading and learning that has been provided by the site and i would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for showing me there is so much more about the human experience than i could have ever imagined possible. It's a subject rich environment for sure !
In the spirit of giving something to the site, i have just watched this video and thought some of you might like it (as an aside to the theme of the video i can't tell you how often i look into the night sky and Orion hits me straight between the eyes). Thank you everyone and let's hope we all become the loving human beings we are destined to become :grouphug:

If I may be so bold as a "newcomer" myself to bid you welcome to this beautiful forum! :welcome:
This is also my favourite place on the net where I have learned so many interesting things. And don´t worry, you will feel when it right to post. I know what you mean, it is sometimes hard to feel that you can contribute since there are so many knowledgeable members here but all of a sudden you will have info noone else has. I think we all contribute as much as we can and the discussions are very respectful.
It is also nice just to post an encouraging comment! :cheer2:
And I must watch the video, this is a very interesting topic...

This sense of feeling overwhelmed which you describe in your post above comes with the turf....
with a belief in the 'As Above, So Below' paradigm
Happens to me all the time.
An understanding that the infinite stretches into above as well as below, without end,
brings with it endless confirmations of such a belief.
To give myself a break I seek momentary shelter in nihilism,
it helps tremendously to give my mind a little rest.
Belief determines inflow of impressions, and taking responsibility for one's beliefs
means also to be able to control one's inner environment.
Anyway, you are not alone in being awestruck by Avalon. Welcome to the club.
We were all once used to the idea of mapping and measuring newly discovered territories,
but are frequently finding that the information explosion which is happening all around
is making such efforts futile. Once that is understood one can relax and go where one's inner spirit directs.
Welcome to the Infinite. Exploring is fun.

Welcome! I like the name you have chosen. ;) Indeed A good place to unwind and become spiritually cultivated and energetically motivated. There's so much to be learned here. May need several incarnations to absorb all of this. One of the top forums IMO from above and so below. Glad to have you on board this great big mothership. :ufo:

I apologise if you found the video offensive in any way. That was not my intent. I did try to make it clear in my post i feel intellectually inadequate and your reply has confirmed it for me. I have no idea what you were talking about in your post. All i know is i found the video interesting and thought others might too.

This is a solid video discussion about correspondences and the Hermetic saying, "As Above, So Below". There are more than similarities between cultures. Symbols are also archetypal, they share meaning across culture. The video presenter does a good job of making this clear. The physical architecture of the Egyptian monoliths is also exact and meaningful numerologically.
These are all great points and instructive to people who are new to these ways of understanding the ancient peoples ways of describing the world as well as providing keys to their esoteric knowledge, which is our shared, human esoteric knowledge. There is much of worth that is mentioned here. What I might contest is his idea regarding the Nile Delta being the "brain" of all Egypt. It is well known that Egypt matured and evolved from the South to the North. The South of Egypt was the Upper Nile, the North of Egypt, the Lower, stemming from the fact that it is below the Equator and the Nile flows from South to North, as well as the civilizing impetus, which also moved from the South to the North. The video displays a Northern and Western bias that is not in evidence in the belief system and traditions of the ancient Egyptian civilization, especially in its earlier incarnations, before the era of destruction began around 2000BCE and the invasion of southwest Asian peoples and then, the Greeks.
In fact, if you turn a map of Eastern Africa upside down and state the same ideas the author of this video is stating, you can come to the same conclusions, and perhaps even more accurately, as the twisting of the Nile even more precisely mirrors that of the spine that way.
So there is indeed room for discussion and debate. :)
Thank you for your openness in sharing and, welcome to PA. It's a jungle in here, but don't take it personally. It's also a lot calmer than many sites of a similar nature across the Net. In the context of holism and an understanding of the past and its connection to the present, there are many things that are debatable. Folks can have different opinions and all of the people on the different sides of the equation can be right at the same time. Strange to understand, but it seems to be true. It's all about discernment and our individual knowledge bases, staying open to information and not holding on to anything too tightly, imho. Keep building and destroying. Bless.

Do not take offense from my post. As that is "normal". Please continue on your search for the truth. We here continue to resolve our own differences lest alone the meandering sage as you aspire:-)
With regard the video you refer; I can quite understand the aspiration of relation that the buildings imbue within the human psyche yet that is the trap of endorsement that a "belief" system needs to propagate. It's a load of rubbish IMO.
Quite the contrary occurred in fact. As a result of the failed attempt of Arkanatun to promote the single city to "one god", it broke down to corruption as we see today in our modern societies. The beauty of the system CREATED by Arkanatun (and the priests) it was segregated away from public (national) spectacle.
On witnessing the failure of the new city, Arkanatun closed the city and sent the exponents of the the "one god" into the desert. This was the EXODUS as written in the scriptures.
Now the scriptures tell us that hundreds of thousands went into the remote expanse waiting for the time they were delivered into the promised land. What in fact "was promised" was the assurance of the current Pharaoh, Arkanatun, that they would indeed have the promised land and it was anywhere other than the holy land of Egypt. Canaan was the choice of both Pharaoh and monotheist . but Egypt was weak militarily and was unable to deliver on the "PROMISES" of the new land. Canaan was already occupied, peacefully, by others.
You see, Egypt was polytheistic at that time. Multiple gods. Gods for the morning, noon and night. If it was relevant to someones activity then a god had influence. Absolutely endorsed by the Pharonic priests. This enabled tie-in to the Pharaohs.
All this relevance to Judaic scripture to the Pharoahs is absolute BUNKUM. It never happened.
With regard the video within the first thread is a load of hogwash. To believe that those buildings were constructed to enforce the relationship of "homo sapiens" to the design of construction is DRIVEL.
Focus must be forced upon the desire of the ruling class to enforce deliverance upon the multitude by slight of hand rather than "divine" intervention.

Thank-you, loveoneanother, for introducing me to that video. I am listening to it now, and find it quite interesting, informative and a pleasure to listen to.
Thank-you, Snoweagle, for bringing my attention to this thread with your insulting post. Yes, as you stated, it was an insult.
Thank-you, various members, who reported Snoweagle's post and brought it to my attention.
I hope you have more to post, loveandanother, of your own thoughts and of any other videos you find that are of such quality as this one.
By the way, Snoweagle, most of your first post on this thread will disappear in a few more minutes after I write this. I am one of this forum's admins, as you know, and one of my duties is to moderate overly rude posts, such as I found your first post on this thread to be. If you have respectfully stated dissent, you're welcome to state it. You might well be right! If your dissent is brief, that often works well on the original thread. If it's lengthy, it often works better on a separate dissenting thread, perhaps with posts cross linking the two threads. But all this varies by situation and is a judgment call.
(I remain confused as to why you, Snoweagle, would advise loveandanother not to take offense at your first post, when even you yourself stated it was an insult ... but don't worry ... I am accustomed to being confused on many matters.)
Welcome, loveoneanother.

Furthermore, am pleased this has rankled some secular feathers:-)

Hello Rahykt.....thank you for taking the time to watch the video and for sharing some of your thoughts on its content. It is a blessing indeed connecting with you again.
I took some time out today and watched the video again to see if i could be more specific about what it was that i connected with. I have never come across the idea of 'planes of correspondence' before so think it unlikely to be this, although i do have a brief recollection of reading something about the Gnostic/Hermetic way of thinking many moons ago. As is the way of these things, i don't recall dwelling on it too much and probably thought of it as another example of the amazing complexity of thinking that we are capable of (which still amazes me to this day).
I've taken the liberty of providing a link to one explanation of the 'planes of correspondence' for anyone who would like a better understanding of it. Unfortunately, it is beyond my understanding at the moment and the best i come come up with is it's describing the process of eternal consciousness manifesting itself in the physical (or something like that) :
http://www.sacred-texts.com/eso/kyb/kyb10.htm
The part of the video i did find intriguing was about the structure of places of worship and how both the exterior and interior were designed in such a way as to reflect aspects of the human connection to the spiritual. This links in to a question i asked when i first joined the site (my one and only question i think) about places of worship, a copy of which is here :
I live in England and everywhere you look there are physical structures that are a testament to people's past and present connection with the spiritual (i'm thinking churches, temples, standing stones and things like pyramids in other countries etc). I was wondering what structure, if any, you see in a future Earth that would be acceptable as a representation of humanity's connection to the spiritual or do you think there will be no need of any type of structure at all ?
I can't help thinking that the spiritual connection was a lot stronger in the past simply because of the physical structures that were manifested as a testament to that connection. I don't go anywhere to give thanks or to celebrate my spiritual connection believing that it's all happening internally. My perception is that i'm spiritual but without the external structure or place of worship that represents my own spiritual journey and connection, how can i be sure ? The evidence from the past seems to suggest to me that each leap of spiritual development is accompanied by some type of physical structure or building that manifests at the same time as symbolic evidence and confirmation of that development.
Christians go to their churches, Muslims go to their mosques and Buddhists go to their temples.....where do we go or do you think it's not important and that it's enough to simply believe ?
I hope i managed to get my question across in a coherent manner. This post seems to have taken an age to write and i can't be sure whether i'm just rambling or whether i'm making any sense or not. Thanks for taking the time to read this and i look forward to your (or anyone else's) thoughts on this.

Sorry for 'bumping' my own thread (i hope it isn't against the site rules).....i thought i might take this opportunity, as Paul suggested in an earlier post, to share some more thoughts on the topic of the thread 'As above so below.....' and at the same time sew a little of my own experiences into the Avalonian tapestry.
I don't know how common this is or whether anyone knows of anything similar happening but the start of my own personal spiritual enlightenment came as a complete shock to me because it was so completely unexpected. If i set the scene for you, there i was, fishing on my own, on some out of the way beach near where i live and whammo, it just started. The initial impact of it starting was so strong, i'm sure i staggered backwards. When i tried to explain it at the time to anyone who would listen (which weren't too many unfortunately) i likened the experience to the top of my head opening up and thoughts being poured in. I don't know if i can describe this properly but they didn't feel like my thoughts. It felt like they were coming from outside of me and certainly, the thinking i was doing, was way beyond anything i was used to (just imagine me sitting at the front of every class at school because i wasn't very bright and you'll get some idea of where i was at). Also, i wasn't brought up in any religion, there were no spiritual people in or around the family when i was growing up and i had never actively looked for a spiritual life. It just happened all by itself !
(I don't know who is going to find their way back to this thread but if you don't mind, i'm going to leave it there for now. If you feel inspired to share the moment the spiritual door opened for you i would be very happy to hear of it. It might also be helpful to any new visitors to the site who are just beginning their own spiritual journey and who may be looking to join the Avalonian family.)
Before i finish this post i would just like to say thank you to Melinda whose post i came across that summed up better than i was able to, the spiritual energy that is created by physical structures that have been designed and built to celebrate the human connection to the spiritual :
http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?53854-Metaphysics-Where-Science-and-Spirituality-Meet.....post number 86
I also came across some stunning pictures that say more than i ever could about what it means to manifest the spiritual in a physical structure and the effect it can have :
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2221739/Extraordinary-photos-millions-joyful-Muslims-descending-Mecca-haj-pilgrimage.html
The question still remains unanswered for me : If we have new spiritual truth that supersedes religious truth, how will this manifest in the physical.....as above so below !

Thank you, LoveOneAnother for this thread, “As above, so below.” Even the title alone has re-reminded me to reflect on what it means to me.
In my younger years, my family lived on 23 acres of forest land, with steams and fields. So there was a lot of opportunities to talk with the elementals, trees and rocks. There was one place thick with sumac trees and tall grasses where my siblings and I played hide and seek. We called it 'Fairy Land'. The fairies and elves helped me stealthy scoot away on my hands and knees by floating along. When I became aware of what was happening my stomach was filled with intense joy and giggles. Never was there a need to question.
These days, I spend time in the State Forest. I empty and all the sounds and smells fill me, or is it the other way around? The Forest takes me on a journey. “As above, so below.”
These days, I sit at the kitchen table. I empty and all the sounds and smells fill me, or is it the other way around? Then Silence takes me on a journey. “As above, so below.”
These days, my church is where I Am. To rephrase a part of your question for myself: How am I sure of this connection? Sometimes the Love, Peace, and Joy that flows in and around, makes me weep, and then beyond is Silence.
Peace and Blessings,
WhiteCrowBlackDeer

Thank you WhiteCrowBlackDeer for sharing some of your earlier experiences. Your reply has helped crystallise some thoughts i've been having lately regarding what it is that manifests in the physical that reflects our connection to the spiritual. (What i'm wrestling with is probably one of those personal growth experiences everyone goes through that i'm playing out on a public forum so maybe of use to someone else who is new to the experience. Who knows who is viewing these forums and where they are on their spiritual journey. Maybe there is a place on here for a less complicated explanation of what is happening which simple souls like me can follow !)
My previous confusion has been that i can see the followers of most of the worlds religions have their churches/mosques/temples etc which represents their connection to the spiritual and up until now i've been looking around to see what is around me that represents my connection to the spiritual (believing as i do that there must be something there somewhere). I'm not a follower of any religion and like many, i see glimpses of truth in all of them. I'm aware i have grown into a new understanding (or my own truth if you will) and while i derive a great deal of comfort knowing that others are having the same experience, i still feel there needs to be a tangible, physical manifestation that is mirroring this new understanding and spiritual connection.
I think the 'penny is slowly dropping' about what that physical manifestation is and it won't be any surprise to anyone who already knows what it is but i think it has something to do with planet Earth itself and how we relate to it. The 'structure' i've been looking for has always been there, right under my nose. I just don't think i've really taken the time to truly notice it. I do my best to harmonise myself with Mother Nature and be mindful of my impact on the environment around me but i don't think i've ever been able to make the spiritual connection.
This may have something to do with the fact that, up until a few weeks ago (Dec.21st maybe?), i was a fisherman and i was 'using' the environment to sustain myself. I'm certainly beginning to believe this isn't necessary now and i know that since i made the 'conscious' decision to stop this particular activity that a greater sense of awareness has been growing in me.
Apart from you WhiteCrowBlackDeer, i don't seem to be connecting with too many others so i want to thank you with all my heart for giving me the opportunity to share a little more of my thoughts with you. In the spirit of the forum, i would like to leave you (and anyone else) with this video that i came across today which has been 'speaking' to me in so many different and exciting ways. If you find the time to watch it, perhaps you would be so kind as to let me know here whether it spoke to you too.
Thank you

Hello LoveOneAnother,
I'm enjoying the vid. I'm about an hour into it and will finish it tomorrow. It's a great explanation of "The Soul is hear to become experientially rich. The Soul is neutral, it’s the mind that categorizes and judges."
I stopped to re-share some of my sign-posts of spiritual connections:
- I see a vehicle passing on the road, and then the vehicle passes on the road.
- Spiritual connection is the joy of the unknown and patience to discover it.
- Spiritual connection is the decision that scarcity is no longer a part of my experience.
- Spiritual connection is Love.
- Can’t wait to jump out of the bed to begin the day all over again.
- Spiritual connection is inner knowing that everything is emerging in it’s Blessed way.
- Knowing that I do not need to travel great distances to find who I am.
- Connection is a partnership with Higher Self.
- Spiritual connection is Wolfie, my Yorkie, taking me for a walk.
- I put out a call to a dear friend to ET phone home, an email arrives by evenings’ end.
- Spiritual connection is sharing with another.
- Wolfie, my Yorkie, has refined the art of reading my mind or is he teaching me to read his?
- Spiritual connection is knowing that not much really matters like I once believed.
- People hold the door open for one another more often now.
- More smily people in my community.
- Spiritual connection is the ability to forgive.
- Trees speak with louder voices and now, they include visuals.
- Birds chirping all over the place.
- Blue Heron flies low, dew sprays from the pine tree, in the early morning rays.
- Yellow butterfly dotted in the chilly November breezes.
- The Cardinal does a poor job at hiding in wait for his seed dinner.
- Awareness of larger than this body.
- Not needing outside heroes to complete me.
- Awareness of no body.
- Reoccurring dream of a bear clawing at my cheek, her paw meets nothing there.
- I'm noticing that others are larger than they are aware of.

Thank you WhiteCrowBlackDeer for such a thought-provoking and heartfelt reply. It was like a mouth-watering slice of multi-layered cake with each bite producing many delicious sensations.
I could have quoted any number of lines from your reply that i connected to but there were two lines in particular that really stood out for me. Reading those lines brought back memories of an experience i had when i was going through my spiritual awakening which i would like to share with you. These are the lines i'm referring to and they highlighted for me the relationship we have with animals and how we communicate with them:
- Spiritual connection is Wolfie, my Yorkie, taking me for a walk.
- Wolfie, my Yorkie, has refined the art of reading my mind or is he teaching me to read his?
My memory of the experience i'm sharing has been gathering dust in the recesses of my mind with it's attendant 'For Your Understanding Only' stamp on it so the re-telling of it may not be 100% accurate (such is the way with memories) but should give a sense of what it was that happened.
While i was being led in the spirit, one day i felt compelled to go for a walk along the banks of a river that is near to where i live. It's not something i would ordinarily have done but the thought about doing it kept coming so i went with it. The river flows from north to south so i decided i would start on the west side of the river, walk north along the riverbank for a couple of miles, cross the river at a bridge i knew of and then return south down the eastern side. I had no idea how long this would take because i had never done this before.
I don't know if everyone goes through the same type of experiences when their spiritual awakening begins but my senses were already heightened expecting something to happen and the start of my walk up the river didn't disappoint. When i arrived at the river i walked straight into a thick river fog which sometimes happens when the cold river water is warmed by the sun at certain times of the year. I remember standing there by the river in the fog wondering if the walk was still a good idea when all of a sudden a hole in the fog opened up around me and i looked up and saw the sun shining. I looked around me and it seemed like the fog was still as thick so i just started laughing. I thought yes, i'm going to walk the river and off i went.
As i started walking and the sun got to work, the foggy conditions gradually began to disappear and it became clear and warm. I was happy to be there soaking up the sights and sounds of nature.
I'm not sure how long i had been walking but i had reached a point where there was some farmland and there was a large hedge running across the land right up to the riverbank. As i walked past the end of the hedge i stopped dead in my tracks and was astonished at what was waiting for me on the other side. There was a field of cows, maybe thirty or forty of them and every single one of them was standing there looking straight at me. The amount of collective mental energy they were directing at me was so intense it was unmistakable. This is new i thought, what's going on here. I had never had anything like this happen before and wasn't sure what to do.
After what seemed an age just standing there locked into this collective mental energy transfer, i noticed three or four cows at the back of the herd start to move and i got a real sense i needed to concentrate on these cows. They moved slowly across the field to a specific area and once they got there they started nodding their heads up and down. I somehow knew there was something there that the whole herd wanted me to see.
I made my way across the field to see what was there and was shocked to find a dead swan. I looked up and could see a power-line running across the field and reasoned the swan must have flown into it in the earlier fog. It became apparent this was upsetting in some manner to the grazing cows and i really felt they wanted me to move it. I didn't really know what to do so i picked up the swan and began to carry it back to the river. I reckoned as the swan was dead already that i would put it into the river and let the water carry it away.
As soon as i started walking with the swan all the cows started to follow me. At the point where the field met the riverbank there was a slight incline up to the bankside and as i went up it every cow followed me. I don't know if you have been up close and personal with a cow but they are big animals and to have thirty or forty of them all around you when your not used to such a thing was a little bit intimidating. I went down the other side of the riverbank to where the water was and pushed the swan out into the flow, all the time being watched by all these cows. I wasn't sure what to do next so i went back up to the top of the bank where the cows were and sat down to make sure the swan went downriver. As if all that wasn't amazing enough what happened next was incredible.
As i was sitting there looking at the river, one of the cows, who were still all around me, came forward, leant over me and started licking my face. I was absolutely petrified and completely rooted to the spot. (A cow has a really long and really rough tongue.) Then another cow moved forward and started doing it, then another then another until i had thirty or forty tongues all jostling for position. In the end it got so ridiculous that just like earlier when the hole in the fog appeared i just started laughing. Their eagerness to lick me was getting to the point where they were starting to push me over so i decided it was time to stand up and carry on walking up the river.
The experience ended with me being escorted by the cows as far as they could go. I don't know how cows express joy but there was plenty of nudging into each other and jostling for position so i guess they were happy enough. A truly extraordinary experience and one i will never forget. I now have a whole new understanding about animals and what they are capable of.
I know there are other people who have learned how to communicate with animals so in the spirit of giving to the forum and the site i have found a video of one such person who does this here in the UK along with the link to her website.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and i hope, as the spirit moves you, to hear from you soon.

Hello LoveOneAnother,
That was an amazing and powerful encounter. Great lesson to follow your heart and inner knowing which brought an unforgettable gift of nature. I grew up with lots of animals including a jackass, horses and black angus(s), but the up close and personal with so many affectionate cows, that would be a challenge. It demonstrates how powerful and rooted you All were with Mother Earth and her Kingdoms.
I enjoyed the vid, too. I once took Wolfie, my Yorkie, to an animal reader. He shared with her things that he wanted me to know. The most important was that he didn't want me to worry about him passing so much. I had lost a dear loved one and had fear of loss that I was still working through. Apparently, it effected my relationship with him. So in a sense, he taught me about here and now like Jackie Weaver expresses in the video, and you that day.
Peace,
