this thread will be about insights to food injustice and the politics of food. Im starting with the Prop. 37 issue regarding exaclty who did not support it. Low and behold, many companies who sell their products in Whole Foods and other "health food stores"
Its time to boycott and here is exactly who you could boycott and who you should fund with your greenback votes.

Moderators, if you have a way to enlarge this poster I would appreciate it.

Fighting food injustice can be done one household at a time. We are all aware of the zoning issues regarding vegetable gardens on one's front lawns. A worthy protect, a defiance to the corrupt system is merely to plant a garden and be willing to stand up for your rights to do so. Most cases regarding the planting of a vegetable garden won court favor in defence of the garden.

In further insights to the development of various kinds of frankenfoods lets look at the slective breeding of cattle.

I would remind readers that selective development of wheat has lead to the mass distribution of wheat that many many people cannot eat without getting fat, having digestive disorder and allergies. I would say NO to meat like this.

thats a good idea... there are so many public places that could be gardens... I've liked courthouse lawns for public gatherings. It was on a courthouse lawn that I got to shake the hand of Bobby Kennedy.

My "new years resolution" is to boycott all those companies that supported prop 37 like Heinz. Also, I boycott anything with aspartame "950" and "951" in it! It takes no extra time now I know the brands.

I have an app on my iPhone called True Food from The Center for Food Safety. It gives you lists of GMO and non-GMO foods by category and some helpful info. I really like it.

They also have a list on their website (below) that you can download.

App: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/true-food/id379459607?mt=8

Website: http://truefoodnow.org/shoppers-guide/

Today, thousands of products on supermarket shelves are made with ingredients from genetically modified (also known as genetically engineered [GE]) crops. But GM foods are not labeled in the U.S., despite warnings from doctors and scientists that these foods may not be safe in the diet or the environment. This lack of mandatory labeling can make it difficult to determine which products are made with GM ingredients and which are not. The True Food Shoppers Guide is designed to give you the tools you need to make informed purchasing decisions.

The True Food Shoppers Guide also arms you with valuable information regarding common GM ingredients, as well as brands to look for, and to look out for. The application includes a “Four Simple Tips” section, which offers easy ways to avoid GM ingredients, a “Supermarkets and GMOs” section to help consumers identify GM and non-GMO private-label store brands, and a rbGH and rbGH-free dairy guide.

In addition to a list of brands that produce foods with no GM content, the application also offers contact information for companies that do use GM ingredients. This feature enables consumers to personally voice their opposition to the use of GM foods directly to the parties involved. As a result, the app serves not only as a shopping guide and teaching tool, but one that can be used for widespread advocacy as well. The app also has a “Take Action” section allowing people to contact state and federal agencies and officials to demand better regulatory oversight, safety testing and labeling laws for GM foods and crops.

The disgusting thing about Prop 37 is not whether labeling is required, but why is garbage put into the food chain?
