It's all in the interpretation I reckon, like a roll of the bones. What do they REALLY say? I see a lot of people in general these days having their lives run aground, and broken apart upon the rocks. But what are "the bones" really telling them when things "roll" this way? That life is over, or life has just begun?
It still reminds me of when I first noticed something terribly wrong with my little fantasy world view just over four years ago, coupled with going from making $50,000 a year as a carpenter long in high demand building custom homes, to hearing "we're not hiring" before I could even ask. The rug had been pulled out from under me from two different directions with no warning, and nothing was ever going to be the same.
It was devastating, and guess what, I didn't like it one bit. I was one pissed off son of a gun. It was also to be a trigger for a dark night of the soul period, which was to culminate a few months later with a simple choice: Continue on this path of self destruction, or get your s**t together boy, and go figure out what this new life is going to be all about. One thing was for sure, the old life was gone. Bye bye.
It's obvious now with 20/20 hindsight that dark period was actually a blessing in disguise, and I'm thankful my old life was destroyed. Like Socrates said: "The unexamined life is not worth living". Besides, who would have guessed the extra time at home would be just what the doctor ordered for beginning to figure out just what was really going on in this world. Go figure.
Sometimes there are unintended and unforeseen consequences for the rulers of this planet, when they go messing around with people's lives and laying them to waste. Maybe they should have messed around with a boomerang as a kid.
So when I see people today with their lives laying in ruin, while having much compassion for what they are going through, I also know that they have a choice as to what to ultimately make of it. It can truly be the end, or it can be a new beginning.
Just thinking aloud here...
