My guess is that if it happens, it won't because they just decided it was the thing to do. It will be a reaction to significant events. The real question is what do they expect to happen?

About the drones mentioned by the Lieutenant, I have witnessed myself drone exercises around where I live. This was a little under three months ago, right above suburban neighborhoods, at night. There were aircraft and drones working together, running drills of some kind, pretty much all night.

Wow, that's something to make us uneasy, wonder why ? (Why would the government do this? What would this serve? ) Though not surprising in the least. Wonder if cell towers will be taken down to make communication more difficult during that time.. might be useful to set up old fashioned ways of communication? Will they have the man power to take the prepping supplies as the man said? Anyways food for thought and a useful warning ... Better to be prepaired than not

Respectfully, it is not going to be because of this asteroid. However, its likely to be what Cliff High has talked about the months that he can't see anything - I think its May to July 2013.
