Greetings All
I wonder what Bill and other members residing in Ecuador think about this? There may be justifications I can't think of, if not, please support this petition and circulate.

This has nothing to do with the NEED for oil.
This has everything to do with deliberately destroying the water infrastructure of the region. As already occurred elsewhere.
This the globalists plan. WATER ENTRAPMENT and DEPENDANCE.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I just visited in Ecuador a month ago. At that time there were protests against gold mining. I didn't hear of anything relating to selling off the Amazon for oil. (The petition won't load on my computer, so I don't know what the wording is in that.)
However, two thoughts come to mind.
1. Several years ago Ecuador amended its national constitution to grant legal "personhood" to Nature, the Natural World, giving those who want to fight the corporations equal status with corporations under the law. Corporations have given themselves the same rights as "people" in many countries, including the US. Since the legal system is just a house of cards with corporations buying, bullying, or coercing into being laws that favor themselves, Ecuador and now Bolivia, I believe, set this equalizing piece of legislation in place specifically to protect the natural world.
2. Apparently the CIA has set a bounty on Ecuadorian president Correa's head, so to speak. It has been publicly announced that the CIA is dedicating millions of our US tax dollars toward taking Correa down, just because they don't like him and because he has the gall to support such irritating propositions as granting personhood to Nature ... but is this selloff for oil what they're forcing him to do? I don't know the answer to that question but this whole thing looks mighty suspicious to me, especially since the national constitution was amended specifically for the purpose of protecting the natural world. It strikes me that there is probably lots of arm-twisting, threats, and other applications of muscle going on behind the scenes.

The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is using drug money to fund Rafael Correa's
opposition in the coming 2013 Ecuadorian elections, intelligence sources have
revealed to Chilean independent media. The accusations do not stand alone. In
October, former UK diplomat Craig Murray said that the CIA had tripled its budget
to destabilize the government of Ecuador.
The allegations were made public by President Rafael Correa on November 3rd on
national television, just days after his official visit to Chile to meet with President
Sebastian Piņera.
This vid also gives a lot of other info about CIA , Dullas & Rockafella, Nixon,
Kissenger and others murderous involvement in the many coups
all over South America during the last 100 years.
I have not seen this movie. Although the movie was set in Ecuador, the facts of it actually happened in Bolivia, which has since also given legal personhood to Nature. You'll find articles on the net about the CIA's plan to take down Correa if you search. If the US/ CIA/military-industrial-corporate controllers can get into office whoever they want in office, the way will be opened for the corporations to do whatever they want to do, the people and the constitution be damned.
It is my hope that the Ecuadorian people, who voted for that constitutional amendment, will not let this happen.
