View Full Version : Mary Magdalene: Essential Oils and Healing

After reading some recent posts about remedies for the cold and flu etc. - it became clear there was little information on the forum regarding the healing properties of essential oils.

I have only been using them for a few years myself but they've been extremely effective. I was first introduced to essential oils about 6 years ago when a cranial sacral healer used them during a healing session. The results were incredible. The key is finding and using good quality oils.

Aside from their healing abilities, I also think the history behind essential oils and the connection to Mary Magdalene is equally fascinating. I feel very "connected" to the Mary Magdalene link.

Much of the material I'm highlighting (see below) came from the research of Rev. Mary Hardy Ph.D. (another "Mary"). I tired to condense some of the material so it's easier to sift through.

http://www.templeofsakkara.com/theemerald.htm

"The name "Mary," simply means "Healer." According to the Dead Sea Scrolls, if you had this title, you were a healer. The Bible mentions Mary Magdalene. What is not clear is that she was a woman of wealth and a close companion of Jesus.

In ancient Egypt, the priests and priestesses at the healing Temple of Hathor at Dendera both taught and administered the Sacred Science of essential oils. This knowledge, which was handed down by the priest/initiates for over 5,000 years is recorded on the walls of Dendera Temple. Some people believe that Jesus and Mary Magdalene participated in the Mystery School as taught at Dendera and learned the magic of the esoteric anointing oils.

In Provence, France, there is a cave where the history of Mary Magdalene, and other women with the title of "Mary" taught for over 30 years. Here the teachings are still ingrained within the walls of the cave.

The cave is located at Mont Sainte Baume. The name indicates that the Mary's made poultices and used essential oils in their healing practices.

Mary taught for 30 years after the crucifixion of Christ. This cave, near Ste. Baume, is now a Catholic church and monastery.

Mary Magdalene wore green sleeves because the healing energy that was emitted from her hands was a bright emerald green. That is why you see her depicted with green sleeves. Many who trained in her presence also gained the wisdom to use this energy. This energy is created by bringing the balance point between infrared and ultraviolet.

The importance of this healing technique is to spin the blood through the heart chakra so that one can achieve the balanced energy point of emerald green. Some people call this zero point energy. Within this field, one can transcend space, time, energy and matter. To spin the blood, one has to create a diamond over the heart. The top part of the diamond pointing up spins clockwise, and the bottom part, pointing down, spins counter-clockwise. You merge the two triangles until you create an energy field that emits emerald green.

The Sisterhood of the Emerald Fire is the name given those people that have been trained in past lives in the knowledge and wisdom of balancing the electromagnetic field.

The sisterhood of the Emerald Fire was trained to use the amygdala gland. Science tells us that the amygdala gland is named after its shape, which is like an almond. But the secret name for the amygdala is Magdalene, and the name is synonymous. The amygdala gland has two parts: the anterior lobe and the posterior lobe. Due to TDA Lingo and Neil Slade's research we now know that the anterior lobe activates the frontal lobe of the brain.

Here you can transcend consciousness, time, space, energy, and matter. This is the secret knowledge of Aromatherapy. Activating the posterior lobe, you can remove much of the trauma from your electromagnetic field.

THE APPLICATION:

Essential oils can be used directly on the skin, diffused in the air, ingested, used in the bath, with massage, as a perfume and as a cleaner/disinfectant.

Here's a brief list of some of the ailments that can be treated with essential oils.
http://www.essentialoils.co.za/treatment/

When essential oils saturate the cells, they can either enhance the tissue, or if it is a synthetic oil, it can cause damage or block healing. This is why it is important to use high frequency, therapeutic grade, essential oils that contain the constituents necessary to work as mother nature intended.

There are few places we can acquire these pure tools. Oils from Young Living Essential Oils is one of them. A bottle of Essential Oil should contain a certain amount of constituents. If it does not, then it won't work properly.

I have worked with a number of different alternative healers over the years and all of them only use Young Living Oils. This isn't to say other oils don't produce a high quality oil but given the number of recommendations across the board for this company I've been using it as well.

Oils should contain:

1. A proper balance of constituents.
2. Pure (organic) with no artificial substances to block the system
3. The proper frequency.

Example: A healthy body has to maintain 60 megahertz. Each Young Living Essential oil, contains a certain frequency. Lavender has 118 Hz, Rose, 320 Hz.; and Myrrh has 105Hz. They have blended many of the oils to maintain a frequency that will balance the emotions.

****

One recommendation:

When I feel a cold or the flu coming on or slightly run down - I use these oils. (per a recommendation from a healer). Please take the time to learn about these oils and practice alongside someone who is knowledgeable before you try this or other remedies. People can have allergies to certain plants so it's always good to test a small patch under your arm before using the oils.

4 drops of Oregano essential oil (neat - straight from the bottle)
4 drops of Thieves essential oil (neat) Note: generally this oil needs to be diluted.
3 drops of lemon essential oil (neat )

Place the drops into a gelatin or vegetable capsule. Drop by drop. Slowly. Close capsule and ingest. Use 2-3 times a day as needed.

****

I'd love to hear from others who've used essential oils. Some of their experiences and remedies.

Next post: how this "works" in connection with the brain/Glia cells. A little bit of science. :)

The main issue would be to find a supplier that offers top grade essential oils. I didn't know of the true power of essential oils until I found the real thing. It can make a red zit go away in five minutes. (Real lavender) The lavender will also detox your emotional clutter.

I did some study in scientific aromatherapy; learning of the various chechimical structures of plants and the healing applications of essential oils.

Been using them for years topical application and internal as well.

If you'd like I can post the remedies I haves collected over the years.

Topiocally applied grapefruit seen extract can make a zit go away overnight... so can MMS... at a fraction of the cost. Ill save my money and take 24 hours to do it instead of 5 minutes... I have no prom to get to.

I was burning patchouli when I opened this thread. Patchouli is not recognized as a main essential oil but its aroma relieves anxiety and I enjoy the faint smell permeating the room I'm in now.

An old favourite used to be Sandalwood, but when studying Aromatherapy I learned that Sandalwood is a parasitical tree so I don't use it much anymore although I find its aroma intoxicatingly beautiful and it has many beneficial properties.

Jasmine is also a great reliever of anxiety and fatigue and highly medicinal for my personal constitution.

Lavender is a panacea.

If I had the time right now, I'd go into details of essential oils and their properties as I know them. But since Gigawatt offered to do this already then I'll come back to the thread later and maybe we can compare notes.

Thanks. Just finished reading Kathleen McGowan's first 2 books about Mary Magdalene and the other Mary's.

Thank you for bringing this up. Yes...the other "Mary's." :)

I've often thought about starting a thread simply about Kathleen McGowen and her books:

The Expected One
The Book of Love
The Poet Prince

Incredible books. Beautifully written.

"Kathleen McGowan discusses her novel about Jesus and Mary Magdalene--and clarifies reports that she's from their bloodline."
Interview by Michael Kress

In the wake of the success of "The Da Vinci Code," a rash of novels have been published offering their own fictional speculation on the relationship between Jesus and Mary Magdalene and the fate of offspring they may have had. Among them, Kathleen McGowan's "The Expected One" stands out for the author's claim that the main character, a journalist who uncovers the truth about Mary Magdalene, is based on her own experiences--including the discovery that her family is connected with the bloodline of Jesus and Mary. In an interview with Beliefnet, McGowan clarifies that claim about her ancestry, describes the spiritual implications of believing Jesus was a father, and discusses her fascination with Mary Magdalene. Why you think so many people are so interested in Mary Magdalene?

"...She’s the iconic spiritual single mother. A lot of what this book is about is this idea that Mary Magdalene landed in France and really formed the first Christian communities in Western Europe. And that, to me, just turns her into this incredible female heroic figure.

And I think a lot of women, specifically, are identifying with this, that Mary Magdalene represents this idea that women have been powerful forces in the spiritual world for thousands of years and it’s time to remember that and to let them come back into the light because they were kept in the darkness for such a long time."

Why present the story as a novel as opposed to as history? To what extent is it fiction?

"In 1997 I wrote a book proposal to present this book as non-fiction and people literally laughed at me in the publishing world and said, first of all, no one is ever going to publish a book about the idea that Mary Magdalene was married to Jesus. Which, of course, now is kind of funny. And two, the only way you’re ever going to get a book like this published as non-fiction by any reputable publisher is if you are lecturing at a university or you have a doctorate after your name.

But the interesting thing about this, and the poetic irony in all of it, is once I made a decision to write it as fiction, I had so much more freedom to tell the truth, because there were things that I could include in fiction that I could never include in non-fiction."

I am a big fan of myrrh, continuing the biblical theme those 3 kings knew a thing or 3. :)

Interestingly, I use one of the oils from Young Living called 3 Wise Men. It's one of my favorites - aside from Lavender and Thieves.

It contains: myrrh (Commiphora myrrha), frankincense (Boswellia carteri), Sandalwood (Santalum album), juniper (Juniperus osteosperma and J.scopulorum) and spruce (Picea mariana) in a base of almond oil.

I put a few drops on my hands and dab them behind the ears, on my neck, over the eyebrows and the last bits on the top of my head - just before a long bath. It helps to relax the mind and creates a sense of balance.

"...it promotes feelings of reverence and spiritual awareness with a blend of therapeutic-grade essential oils formulated to open the subconscious. This blend, considered a gift by many, enhances emotional equilibrium as it soothes and uplifts the heart."

Sacred Frankincense Essential Oil:
The Science Behind Spirituality

Frankincense is considered the holy anointing oil in the Middle East and has been part of religious and cultural ceremonies dating back to ancient times. Also known as "oliganum" or "Oil from Lebanon" the name frankincense is derived from the Medieval French word for "real incense". It was well known during the time of Christ for its anointing and healing powers and was one of the gifts given to Christ at his birth.

"Used to treat every concievable ill known to man", frankincense was valued more than gold during ancient times, and only those with great wealth and abundance posessed it. Frankincense is mentioned in one of the oldest known medical records, Ebers Papyrus (dating from sixteenth century BC), an ancient Egyptian list of 877 prescriptions and recipes. Anciently, the Chinese used frankincense as a treatment for a range of ailments.

Frankincense was anciently associated with longevity. For instance: in the tales of Alexander's adventures in India at the oracle of the sun and the moon, the Indian guardians of the oracle lived in a bower of sacred trees, which wafted the aroma of frankincense and balsam. They lived on pure water, balsam, and frankincense; a diet on which they had thrived for 300 years.

One of the reasons for the popular use of Frankincense may be its ability to affect emotions and spiritual connection. Researchers today have discovered that the sesquiterpenes in frankincense help stimulate the limbic system of the brain (the center of emotions) as well as the hypothalamus, pineal and pituitary glands. The hypothalamus is the master gland of the human body, controlling the release of many hormones including thyroid and growth hormone.

An important constituent discovered within Frankincense is called incensole acetate which has an anti-anxiety effect and acts on a pathway in the brain that regulates emotion, TRPV3 channels. Incensole acetate only shows up after 11 hours of distilling with agitation and 15 hours without agitation. Incensole acetate is considered a major constituent, which is sought after to support many body functions. It works well as a companion to the boswellic acids in its medicinal attributes.

Not all frankincense is the same — in fact, most of the frankincense essential oil that is sold in the world today is Boswellia fereana which smells quite similar to other varieties, but it contains no boswellic acid. All the research Gary Young has uncovered in his quest for the truth of frankincense reveals that the frankincense taken out of King Tutankhamun's tomb resembled the frankincense species of sacra or carterii, not frereana. And all the legends from ancient prophets indicate that sacra or carterii were the only species used to anoint and heal. Frereana was never used.

I am interested in the ointment that was applied to Jesus feet believed to be Spikenard Essential Oil,

The whole story with the tears and the hair is quite intriguing.

The health benefits of Spikenard Essential Oil can be attributed to its properties like anti bacterial, anti fungal, anti inflammatory, deodorant, laxative, sedative and uterine

http://www.organicfacts.net/health-benefits/essential-oils/health-benefits-of-spikenard-essential-oil.html

Also the whole concept of being anointed, which can be found around the world in most spiritual traditions.

The kings of the Old Testament were anointed with oil and only afterwards did they receive Power through the Holy Spirit that came upon them. Jesus on the other hand, was anointed because the Holy Spirit had come upon Him (Acts 10:38). Jesus was anointed with Power itself. God was pleased that Jesus should be His Son (Matthew 3:16) and Jesus was the anointed of God. So we can differentiate between the kind of power that the kings of Israel and the kind of Power that Jesus (The King of Israel) had – the difference is that the kings were anointed of a human high priest but The King was anointed of God Himself. The Gospels also state that he was physically "anointed" by an anonymous woman who is interpreted by some as Mary Magdalene; however, this anointing was not in the fashion described in Exodus,[3] but rather an anointing done out of affection, which Jesus stated was to prepare him for his burial. The word Christ which is now used as though it were a surname was more accurately a title which was equivalent to the Hebrew HaMashiach meaning "the anointed one.”

Top notes work on the emotional and spiritual components of the condition.

Middle notes work on the physical condition which has manifested.

Base notes work on the subconscious levels which have helped to manifest the condition.

If you have a specific condition you'd like to treat, you would choose an oil from top notes, one from middle notes and one from base notes, which have properties to heal your condition.

Top notes - 3 drops
Middle notes - 2 drops
Base notes - 1 drop

These drops would be mixed in one once of conductive, edible, raw oil, like walnut oil, or sesame, or olive, etc.,

The mixture would be applied to the area of concern, eg., for digestive problems, one would mix one oil with digestive healing properties from each note and mix it with the conductive oil and massage the entire abdomen. For headaches, one would massage the head. For fungii, one would massage the area affected with fungus, etc.,

For conditions which affect the entire system, like anxiety, depression, fatigue, and so on, one would massage areas of the body with thin skin where they will be highly absorbed, like the insides of the arms, behind the knees, the soles of the feet.

A good aromatherapist would also have to be a kinesiologist, or at least have knowledge of kinesiology. Since there are a number of oils which can be applied for the same condition, muscle testing would yield the best results as some people could be allergic to some of the oils.

Yes, very Interesting. Especially this part:

So we can differentiate between the kind of power that the kings of Israel and the kind of Power that Jesus (The King of Israel) had – the difference is that the kings were anointed of a human high priest but The King was anointed of God Himself.

It seems there are many different interpretations as to when Jesus was anointed, who anointed him and the fashion in which he was anointed.

"The birth and death of Jesus both contain references to aromatic oils as offerings. Matthew 2:11 recounts the arrival of the magi at the time of Jesus’s birth in Bethlehem. Following a guiding star, these kings arrived where Mary had just given birth and offered the baby frankincense and myrrh, oils which are still used today to induce spiritual awakenings.

During Jesus’s life, he was anointed with oil of spikenard on two different occasions, once by a woman who broke a jar and poured it over his head and once by Mary Magdalene. Mary, who had purchased the spikenard with her life savings, anointed Jesus’s feet and rubbed the oil in with her hair. In each instance, the bestowal of oils were a gift of great worth."

People and things are anointed to symbolize and introduce sacred and divine influence.

In Kathleen McGowen's book, The Expected One, she writes:

"... Myrrh and aloes were brought to the tomb by Nicodemus. The Marys began the preparation of the body for burial by positioning the burial cloth, but when it came time to anoint Easa (Jesus) with the myrrh, the Great Mary (Mother of Easa) presented the jar to Mary Magdalene. "This honor is for you alone," she said.

The Magdalene performed the duties of a widow in the burial ritual. She kissed Easa on the forehead and said good-bye to him as her tears mixed with the myrrh oils."

"Aromatherapy and essential oils were the root of the first medicine. It's time Essential oils are restored to their proper place in the world of healing."

Much of this material comes from the research and wisdom of Rev. Mary Hardy Ph.D.

"There are two brains in the body. The neural brain that deals with consciousness in the physical world and the glia brain, which balances the spiritual realm with the emotional field and allows the electrical frequencies to be sent throughout the body.

The glia brain is the largest organ in the body. By definition, it encompasses all of the coverings of the brain and nervous system, thus making it the largest organ in the body. It is this system that allows a drop of oil to saturate the linings of the nerves and brain in seconds, thus sending the oils throughout the body.

This is how the oils cross the blood-brain barrier. The oils only work in the glia brain if they are high in frequency. It is the frequency of the oils that saturate the glia brain, allowing consciousness to access the emotional field. If the oils are synthetic, or low in frequency, they block this whole system.

How do the oils affect the glia cells? Glia cells act chemically in the body and then send an electrical signal to every cell. By putting a drop of oil on the body, the glia system instantly sends the chemical frequency of the oils to the receptors in every cell in the body.

This is how if you instantly put lavender on a burn, it will restore the proper cell function that has been damaged by the burn. It completely reverses the chemistry of the damaged cells and returns the system back to normal so the body does not record the damage.

To understand how the oils work in the body, we need to understand how the glia system works.

The glia brain is 85% of our total brain cells, while neurons are only a mere 15%, Yet little is known about the glia cells.

Before a baby is born, scientific knowledge states that he operates on the glia system and can communicate with his mother and his surroundings. After his first breath, he now works in the neuron system and is cut off from the conscioiusness of the glia brain. One of the first things I discovered about the glia brain is that it is an antenna system into higher frequencies.

The glia brain can be used to transcend higher forms of consciousness. I’m sure this is why many of the religions of the world use the oils to anoint people during prayer and meditation.

Part of the reason we are plagued with disease is we do not feed the glia brain. The processed food, saturated with GMOs (genetically modified foods) and pesticides, destroy the glia brain and is in the process of dumbing down humanity and reducing themas spiritual beings.

The essential fatty acids, like Omega Blues, is a wonderful product to restore the glia brain in the body. As stated before, the glia brain is a seamless organ, and yes, we put clove oil in our Omega Blue, which instantly opens up every cell in the body through its energy pattern.

This, in turn, will feed the glia brain the essential fatty acids. Since Young Living oils do not use oils that are genetically modified, the process of restoring the glia brain by using essential oils is achieved. All of Young Living’s plants are organically grown."

This is Part 1 of a two part post. Just trying to keep it simple.

I believe the best oils are from Young Living. I have used them for over ten years. I carry them where ever I go and pretty much
share them with anyone who is willing to try (and feel better). My mom used to take 2 Imitrex ($20), wait three hours for any
relief while it agitated her heart problems. One or two droops of M-Grain and she's good in two minutes with no side effects.
She has three bottles, one in car, one in purse and one at home. I couldn't imagine a day without them.

Just a note Daughter of Time, there is a Patchouli oil which you could diffuse (not burn) that is amazing.

A continuation of the science behind how essential oils affect the glial cells. Part II.

Much of this material comes from the research and wisdom of Rev. Mary Hardy Ph.D.
more: http://www.templeofsakkara.com/young.../NLMay2012.pdf

"Weaving together medical history with cutting edge research, Dr. R. DouglasFields, a leading researcher in the field, and editor of the Journal Neuron Glia Biology, discusses the science that is gradually uncovering the role glial cells play in the brain.

Such as, how myelin sheaths ‘formed by the glia’ prevents neuroregeneration. In addition, how our increasing understanding of the glia sheds light on a variety of brain disorders:

Brain cancer, spinal cord disorders, depression, dementia, schizophrenia, Parkinson’s, HIV, addiction, and now it is dawning on scientists that the glia have a critical
role in normal brain activity, as well as including learning and brain growth.

How could the scientific world overlook the largest organ in the body for 100 years of research?

One basic reason glia went unremarked upon is that scientists were fixated on the electrical firing of neurons, which could be measured using electrodes. Glia, by contrast, behaved chemically.

The new images were startling, says Fields, whose work yielded discoveries that glia interacts with neurons in previously unknown ways. One type of glia, myelin, is what allows us to carry good heads on our shoulders and they are not any bigger than a bread box.

The insulation that’s provided to nerve axons speeds the impulse conducted 100 times. It allows the minimization of our brains. Glia were once thought to act merely as hotel maids, cleaning up the debris from busy neurons.

Actually, Fields says that they perform an array of different duties. They take information from neurons, respond to their signals, control velocity and timing of conditions, act as an immune system of the brain, provide the brain with new neurons and control other complex brain activities.

Through studies of conditions such as Alzheimer’s, Autism, Parkinson’s, HIV, addiction and spinal cord injuries, it is dawning on scientists that the glia have a critical role in normal brain activities, as well as, learning and brain growth.

One of the best ways to saturate the glia brain with essential oils is to put five drops of oil on the left hand and five drops of oil on the right hand, and hold the left hand to the left foot and the right hand to the right foot of the person that you are working with.

This allows that oil to be totally saturated through the person’s system, because you activate the glia brain.

As in the case of lavender, the frequency corrects the damaged tissue in the body so that the cells can be restored to a more healthy state. As in the case of emotional clearings, this is how a person can clearly begin to adjust to the frequency that is needed to heal."

Emotional Release with Essential Oils

Thought equals frequency.

Essential oils absorb our thoughts. They are registered in the oils as intent. Intent is directed energy.

When you apply an intent-energized oil on your feet they can saturate all of your cells within 60 seconds, stimulating creative thinking and pushing negative energy out of the cells, thus increasing the frequencies of the cells throughout the body.

In that uplifted state you can create a new desire to be better tomorrow.

You have no limitations but those you choose to accept. — Gary Young

The Egyptians — Masters of Transformation

"The Egyptians were masters in using essential oils and other aromatics for healing emotions and negative energy.

Historical records describe how one of the founders of the "pharaonic" medicine was the architect, Imhotep (2780-2720 B.C.) and is associated with the use of oils, herbs, and aromatic plants for medicinal purposes.

Hieroglyphs on the walls of the Egyptian temples depict the blending of oils and describe hundreds of oil recipes.

According to ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, priests and alchemists were using essential oils thousands of years ago to heal the sick and in many spiritual rituals.

They believed that the sense of smell and the ability to detect odors was the most important of the sensory abilities because smelling essential oils can increase one's frequency thereby leading to transformation of negative energy.

The emotions are the most elusive part of the human body.

Research has only begun to delve into the subconscious mind to discover how they affect every aspect of our lives. Many people find that they are unable to progress in life and achieve sought-after goals and dreams due to the trauma of emotional and physical abuse.

These deep-seated emotional issues can undermine a person's success, daily life and future, which is why new avenues for clearing negative emotions are available. Negative emotions create negative energy which stays in the energy field until transformed.

One of the ways to transform this energy is through the use of therapeutic grade essential oils in this ancient spiritual ritual.

The emotions of anxiety and fear, for example, creates an acidic condition that activates the transcript enzyme that transcribes that emotion onto the RNA template (RNA is the sister molecule of DNA) and stores it in the DNA. The negative emotion then becomes a predominant factor in our lives from that moment on.

The essential oil aldehydes and esters activate the amygdala and pineal gland to relax the central nervous system, affecting both the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system, and also supports the body in releasing the acid that was created from negative emotions and negative energy which heals the DNA.

A sacred room in the Temple of Isis on the island of Philae depicts a ritual called "Cleansing the Flesh and Blood of Evil Deities" from which this compilation of oil blends was produced by Young Living Essential Oils to facilitate the release of negative emotions, unresolved angers, resentments, and ancestral memory of trauma and pain.

This Egyptian DNA Healing therapy will heal negative energy and emotions that keep you from moving forward in your life and spiritual growth."

I wholeheartedly thank you for this thread Marin, and extend my thanks to all who have shared their knowledge.

I have very basic knowledge of essential oils. I've been using lavender a lot, mostly as an air cleanser and because I so love the smell. I had a start of an ant invasion once, and a few drops of lavender put an end to it very quickly. I use eucalyptus mostly in the winter. A few drops in the bathtub when you feel a cold coming and as an air cleanser to get rid of the bugs. There is a mix from Robert & Fils called "formule no 2" ( http://www.robertetfils.com/robert-et-fils-produit.php?id=27&mid=5 ) which does miracles with muscular pain.

I am being drawned to deeper spiritual knowledge of the use of essential oils. This thread came as a gift of life to inspire me.

Love to All.

I am being drawned to deeper spiritual knowledge of the use of essential oils. This thread came as a gift of life to inspire me.

Love to All.

Thank you kindly for sharing.

Pushing past what I would consider a limited understanding of essential oils and investigating the history and science has been a learning experience for me as well.

The spiritual connection is an important one and likely a by-product of the healing properties. I think it's important to highlight that connection. Hopefully we'll hear more about that from others. It's clearly something I plan to investigate further.

Intuitively speaking, I've known essential oils are a remarkable healing modality. I've experienced that for myself. I've watched the effects with family and friends. Often, with much surprise. And relief. The fact that they're so benign and simple to use really affords a "teaching" opportunity. Once they've used it and benefited - They're hooked.

Reading some of the recommendations and sharing experiences has provided some additional information. I've picked up a number of great tips and I'm sure that will be passed along. Looking forward to hearing more.

The effectiveness of aromatherapy essential oils cannot be fully understood without some discussion of their frequency or vibration.

"Frequency is a measurable rate of electrical energy that is constant between any two points. Every living thing has an electrical frequency.

Robert O. Becker, M.D., documents the electrical frequency of the human body in his book, The Body Electric.

A "frequency generator" was developed in the early 1920's by Royal Raymond Rife, M.D. He found that by using certain frequencies, he could destroy a cancer cell or virus. He found that these frequencies could prevent the development of disease, and others would destroy disease. Substances with higher frequency will destroy diseases of a lower frequency.

Bjorn Nordenstrom, a radiologist from Stockholm, Sweden, who wrote the book Biologically Closed Circuits, discovered in the 1980's that by putting an electrode inside a tumor and running a milliamp D.C. (Direct Current) through the electrode, he could dissolve the cancer tumor and stop its growth. He found electropositive and electronegative energy fields in the human body.

Bruce Tainio of Tainio Technology in Cheney, Washington, developed new equipment to measure the biofrequency of humans and foods. He used this biofrequency monitor to determine the relationship between frequency and disease. Measuring in megahertz, it was found that:

processed / canned food had a zero MHz frequency
fresh produce measured up to 15 MHz frequency
dry herbs from 12-22 MHz
fresh herbs from 20-27 MHz
Essential oils started at 52 MHz and went as high as 320 MHz, which is the frequency of rose oil

A healthy body typically has a frequency ranging from 62 to 78 MHz, while disease begins at 58 MHz.

Clinical research shows therapeutic grade essential oils, having the highest frequency of any natural substance known to man, can create an environment in which microbes, disease, bacteria, virus, fungus, etc., cannot live.

Truly, the chemistry and frequencies of essential oils have the ability to help man maintain an optimal health frequency.

It is wonderful to discover that essential oil frequencies are several times greater than frequencies of herbs and foods. For years, research has been conducted on the use of electrical energy to reverse disease.

Scientists in the field of natural healing have believed there has to be a more natural way to increase the body's electrical frequency. This led to the research and subsequent discovery of electrical frequencies in essential oils.

Patients felt better emotionally when oils were diffused in their rooms. It seemed that, within seconds, these patients were more calm and less anxious with little exposure and inhalation.

Certain oils acted within 1–3 minutes; others acted within seconds. It is fascinating to think that an oil applied to the bottom of the feet could travel to the head and take effect within one minute. The more results that that have been seen, the more research has been initiated."

Electromagnetic Frequencies of Essential Oils

One of the most important healing modalities of essential oils is their ability to lift our bodily frequencies to levels where disease cannot exist.

Excerpted from: Healing Oils of the Bible by David Stewart, PhD. P 31-34

"There is another dimension to the healing powers of essential oils. This has to do with their electrical properties. All essential oils carry electrical charges, usually electrons or negative ions, which are healing and healthful.

They are also energetic, generating nanovolts of electricity (billionths of a volt) at megahertz frequencies (that’s in the radio frequency range or millions of cycles per second.)

These frequencies are measurable with properly designed instrumentation. In a series of experiments conducted by Tainio, reported in the Reference Guide to Essential Oils published by Abundant Health, the following was found:

The frequencies of essential oils are between 52-320 MHz–the highest of all known substances. The highest is Rose Oil at 320 MHz.

Lower frequency oils resonate with the bodily systems that have those frequencies, such as bones and joints, and, thus, administer healing vibrations to those systems.

When several oils are blended together, a fundamental frequency will emerge that may be higher or lower than many of its components.

Measurements on the human body found that a healthy person has a frequency around 62-68 MHz.

When a person’s frequency dips to 58 MHz, cold symptoms can manifest.

Flu symptoms start at 57 MHz, Candida at 55 MHz, and Epstein Barr syndrome at 52 MHz.

Cancer can begin when the body falls below 42 MHz.

The process of dying begins at 25 MHz and goes to zero at death.

In experiments by Tainio, he measured the effects of coffee, finding even holding a cup of coffee lowers one’s bodily frequency by 8 MHz and that taking a sip can lower one’s frequency by 14 MHz.

When essential oils are inhaled following the exposure to coffee, the bodily frequencies restore themselves in less than a minute, but if no oils are administered, it can take up to three days for the body to recover from even one drink of coffee.

The following table gives a sample of electromagnetic frequencies for a few oils for which such measurements have been made and published."

this is interesting about the frequency change.

There is a very good book on the market about using essential oils for curing infection. Very detailed. I dont know the name of it for I read it long ago but I highly recommend it and Ive not seen anything close to its detail anywhere else. If you call Dave's Health and Nutrition on 3300 South in Salt Lake City they can tell you the name of the book and probably even mail it to you.

I generally dont use essential oils because my preference is homeopathy and the homoepathics can be blown right out of effectiveness becasue the oils are so strong. Strong does not always equate with healing potential though. Homeopathy can cure where the oils tend to only put things off for another day. The only exception I have noted to that is in their use in a wide variety of infections. Microbes simply cannot exist in the presence of the correctly selected oils.

We have a good size group here in my area that are into oils and I went to a couple of there meetings. What I saw was a bunch of folks who were sick and not really getting well, purchasing the oils month after month with only palliation as a result. Its a huge money maker for someone else and an attractive product for those who dont really understand what a cure is nor really believe that its possible.

Id really like to hear stories of acutal full cure of health issues with thier use, aside from infections.

Arrowwind - I can certainly appreciate your concerns.

As I've mentioned before, I'm not an expert with regard to essential oils. However, what I will say is that when it comes to using essential oils it's pretty clear - they're only as effective as the quality of the product.

I'd be curious what products the group you mentioned above were using.

See reference in my OP:

I made a point only to reference Gary Young's, Young Living essential oils because of the relationship I have with many different alternative healers in my area. All of them have been in business for some time and have used these oils with much success.

It's not my intention to convince anyone about the healing properties of essential oils. Rather, to provide some balanced information so that others have an opportunity to investigate this on their own. In doing so - they can decide for themselves. They may or may not be interested. That's ok.

I find it very interesting how far back the use of essential oils goes back - thousands of years. I've found "time" is often a good barometer with regard to the efficacy of something. Tying that in with some of the recent science and the fascinating history of essential oils (the role of Mary Magdalene - her potential association with the ancient Mystery schools and the Sisterhood of the Emerald Fire) provides the scope that I believe this this modality deserves.

With regard to learning about others experiences - yes, I agree. I'd like to hear more. We've heard a few interesting stories and testimonials - hopefully that will continue.

In just the last 3 days we've used these oils in my house with much success: (no exaggerations here.)

1. A bee sting -Thieves oil - 1:4 dilution. Placed directly on the wound.
2. Skin rash (lavender oil) applied directly from the bottle. Rash gone in 2-3 hours. Completely. Smelled great too.
3. Dry cough - Oregano oil - 1:4 dilution. Rubbed it on the heals of the feet. Later that evening I put Thieves essential oil in a diffuser in the room overnight. Cough gone the next morning.
4. Pulled muscle (shoulder). Used Thieves oil (1:4 dilution). Within 5 minutes the pain decreased considerably. In a few hours it was gone.
5. Enhance yoga practice (daily): Lavender oil on the feet and a few drops in the hands and inhaled right before practice

Essential Oils and Cancer: A Review of Published Scientific Studies

Beyond Complementary Therapies - Research Indicates Essential Oils have Targeted Anticancer Properties

Moving from Aromatherapy to Aroma-Medicine:

"The practice of 'aroma medicine', rather than the somewhat more vague 'aromatherapy', is making very strong gains in the United States. The primary reasons are twofold: Many individuals have become completely disenchanted with our current conventional medical system. We're paying HUGE amounts of money for very questionable therapies accompanying their high price tags. At the same time, people are realizing the value of 'traditional' medicines may be far greater than they've been lead to believe.

That the healing power available in properly prescribed and employed natural medicines have the potential to not only alleviate the symptoms of an illness, but move the body to an equilibrium of long term health.

The Medical Uses of Essential Oils

Research into the area of medicinal applications of essential oils has been significant in recent years. Many oils have been proven to have significant antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal action.

Now, the body of evidence of essential oils being strongly anti-tumorial, with specific anti-cancer action is growing, too. A search of Pub Med (www.pubmed.gov) the National Institute of Health's online research database produces 391 results for the search 'essential oils cancer' and 444 results for 'essential oil tumor'.

MANY of the studies show a direct correlation in tumor and cancer cell line eradication with the use of essential oils. A great many have conclusions that indicate the studies results warrant further investigation of essential oils for the development of accepted therapies.

Here's a review of some very promising results:

Frankincense Essential Oil Targets Cancer Cells

A study in the journal BioMed Central journal of Complementary and Alternative Medicine, March 2009, titled: "Frankincense oil derived from Boswellia carteri induces tumor cell specific cytotoxicity" concludes with: "Frankincense oil appears to distinguish cancerous from normal bladder cells and suppress cancer cell viability.

Microarray and bioinformatics analysis proposed multiple pathways that can be activated by frankincense oil to induce bladder cancer cell death. Frankincense oil might represent an alternative intravesical agent for bladder cancer treatment." ...while a bit technical, this is very, very promising -- essentially saying that this easily obtained, inexpensive, NON-TOXIC natural compound can eradicate cancer cells without harming normal, healthy cells in the same organ.

Frankincense has a long, long history of medicinal use, and searching for 'frankincense cancer' produces 30 results just for this material. If choosing an essential oil of Frankincense, the 'carteri' species has been the subject of most research, with cold-process Carbon Dioxide distilled oils considered the most therapeutic (seek CO2 or SCO2 distilled oils or extracts, as offered by Ananda here).

Lemongrass Essential Oil Induces Cancer Cell Death

Lemongrass, after Frankincense, may next most commonly researched essential oil for anti-cancer activity.

In the May 2009 journal of Chemico-Biological Interactions, researchers tested Lemongrass essential oil against 12 human cancer cell lines. Colon cancer and neuron cancer cell lines were found most susceptible to the essential oil.

The study concluded: "Our results indicate that the oil has a promising anticancer activity and causes loss in tumor cell viability by activating the apoptotic process as identified by electron microscopy."

This indicates that Lemongrass may induce natural cell death of cancer cells (apoptotic process), a process that is inherently dysfunctional in cancer cells.

Sweet Linalool for Liver Cancer

Linalool is a very common essential oil constituent. Essential oils are naturally made up of many individual chemical constituents, and linalool is a sweet, relaxing aromatic found in many floral and sweeter spice essential oils.

Linalool itself, separated from the essential oil of Coriander (Cilantro seeds) was the subject of research published in the June 2009 issue of the journal of Chemico-Biological interactions. Linalool was found to completely eradicate the HepG2 liver cancer cell line in VERY low concentrations.

Linalool has a great many other effects, having been shown to lower anxiety and even significantly improve sleep. And now it even has anti-cancer effects!

So even if one is noted directly targeting cancer, but using aromatherapy in a more 'casual' application, there may be important protective effects occurring at the same time.

Skin cancer is a major concern for many folks, and a series of studies have shown Sandalwood to be effective at preventing tumor development. Alpha-santalol, a component also shown to have anti-anxiety and sleep enhancing action, may be the constituent to which most of these effects may be attributed.

A study published in the European Journal of Cancer Prevention, a formula used for containing just 5% Sandalwood essential oil used before exposure to toxins significantly reduced the formation of skin cancer tumors.

A study published in January 2008 in the Journal of Anitcancer Research showed a significant reduction in tumor development in skin exposed to UVB radiation -- Sandalwood would make an excellent addition to a pre-sun body or face care formula.

The Powerful Protection of Spice Oils

Components of Thyme and Oregano essential oils have been shown to actually protect human DNA strands from breaking when exposed to extreme oxidative stress.

DNA damage is a leading cause of cancer development, as this can lead to an abnormal cell life cycle, essentially turning off the process of natural cell death.

Carvacrol and Thymol were singled out in a study by Slovakian researchers in 2007, though they also note that other components of these oils may have chemoprotective effects as well. Other spice essential oils that have demonstrated cancer preventative effects include Ginger, Tumeric, Basil, Garlic and Sage.

Essential Oils Offer Immune System Support

Beyond the direct effects on tumor cells, essential oils have been shown to positively effect the immune system on a chemical level.

They can enhance the activity of white blood cells, making them more efficient and removing foreign material and microbes from the body. This would likely result in more effective cancer outcomes. Further, there's the psychological component of any disease, and many essential oils have demonstrated anti-stress activity in scientific investigations.

Essential Oils as Anti Cancer Agents for the Future

So, like many plant medicines, essential oils work on a number of levels for many diseases, with cancer being one of them.

While its important to recognize that essential oil use is in-fact contra-indicated during chemotherapy (as they may reduce the cytotoxic effects of the treatment), they can certainly be an integral part of any cancer preventative protocol.

For any application where an individual has already been diagnosed with the illness, it is important to check with their physician to ensure essential oils and aroma-medicine is an appropriate choice.

The overall picture is very bright for the use of essential oils in cancer treatment, and further investigation is certainly warranted by the scientific and medical communities for the development of effective medical protocols for this profoundly life-altering condition."

Hello lookbeyond,

I know your question was posed to taurad, who will hopefully reply.

For the time being, I will say that to the best of my knowledge, topical applications by-pass the liver, so the oils, mixed with an edible, conductive oil, can be applied liberally. For edible use, the oils should be administered in homeopathic doses, not necessarily as homeopatic remedies, but in very small doses, and this should be done after muscle testing to make sure the oil is the right one for the individual.

I've used essential oils on my children as early as 2 years old. Essential oils were recommended to me by a previous Nurse practitioner (who worked primarily in the neonatal intense care unit) turned cranial sacral specialist. She's been treating children with essential oils for some time now.

She uses the essential oils (diluted) when she massages young children during a cranial sacral session.

With my children, I always dilute the essential oil with a carrier oil. You can use olive oil, vegetable oil or Young Living carriers a product called V-6 (vegetable oil) that's easy to use. Just a bit pricey.

I have used Lavender oil (sometimes straight from the bottle) and Thieves and Oregano oil both diluted (1 drop of essential oil to four drop of carrier oil: Olive or Vegetable oil) on my children.

I use Young Living's essential oil: Oregano and Thieves diluted (1 drop of essential oil to four drop of carrier oil). They are great remedies for the cold and flu. Use one or the other. I rub it on the bottom of their feet. I use it 2- 3 times a day as needed. I've used them through pre-school and elementary school with much success.

As recommended earlier, before trying a new oil, especially on a child, I always test for allergies first. I do a test patch under the arm using the diluted oil.

I have never given my children essential oils to digest.

Here's a useful link:

http://www.abundanthealth4u.com/Essential_Oils_Care_for_Babies_and_Children_s/40.htm

"When using essential oils on babies and children, it is always best to dilute 1-2 drops of pure essential oils with 1/2-1 tsp. vegetable oil. If the oils are used in a bath, always use a bath gel base as a dispersing agent for the oils.

Keep essential oils out of children's reach. If an oil is ever ingested, give the child an oil-soluble liquid such as milk, cream, or half & half. A few drops of pure essential oil shouldn't be life-threatening, but for your protection, it is best to take these precautions.

In Shirley Price's book, Aromatherapy for Babies and Children, she mentions 19 oils that are safe for children. These oils are:

Bergamot (Citrus bergamia)*
Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica)**
Chamomile, Roman (Chamaemelum nobile)
Cypress (Cupressus sempervirens)
Frankincense (Boswellia carteri)
Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens)
Ginger (Zingiber officinale)
Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)
Lemon (Citrus limon)*
Mandarin (Citrus reticulata)*
Marjoram (Origanum majorana)
Melaleuca-Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia)
Orange (Citrus aurantium)*
Rose Otto (Rosa damascena)
Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis)**
Rosewood (Aniba rosaeodora)
Sandalwood (Santalum album)
Thyme (Thumus vulgaris CT linalol)
Ylang Ylang (Cananga odorata)

*These oils are photosensative; always dilute. To prevent a rash or pigmentation of the skin, do not use citrus oils when exposed to direct sunlight.

**These oils should never be used undiluted on babies and children.

Caution: Do not use synthetic or adulterated oils. Do not use oils with different botanical names until the safety data has been thoroughly reviewed.

The sisters and brothers of the Emerald Fire

"Back in the time of Egypt, Aromatherapy was a way of balancing the auric field with the physical. The sense of smell is depicted on the Egyptian walls by a woman smelling a lotus. This was secret knowledge.

Only those trained in the temples were taught how to use this wisdom. They were known as the sisters and brothers of the Emerald Fire because they had to keep the balance point of emerald green within their auric field.

This knowledge of smell activating the higher consciousness is a way of developing the soul. Now is the time that every single human should be made aware of the power of Aromatherapy. We are entering a new era.

Every human can take charge of their own auric field or soul development and balance it through Aromatherapy. Onc can make peace within and balance their soul through understanding the knowledge of entering the limbic system through Aromatherapy. Aromatherapy is one of the easiest ways to bring about a balance of the physical body within the auric fields.

The Sisterhood of the Emerald Fire is the name given those people that have been trained in past lives in the knowledge and wisdom of balancing the electromagnetic field.

Always remember that the importance of the Sisterhood of the Emerald Fire is to raise consciousness so that we can be one of those individuals that graduates into a higher frequency.

Many of the sisters were trained in a past life by Mary Magdalene in France.

As mentioned earlier:

The Sisterhood of the Emerald Fire is the name given to those people that have been trained in past lives in the knowledge and wisdom of balancing the electromagnetic field.

Dr. Mary Hardy:
There is a story of the 100th monkey, and when enough of us learn to activate the amygdala gland and bring forth the wisdom of the Emerald Fire, the planet will begin to blossom and the power of the Christed Being will again return so that humanity can graduate into a higher frequency."

The Magdalene, Knights Templar and Alchemy
by Rev. Mary Hardy, Ph.D.

http://www.templeofsakkara.com/magdalene.htm

Part I

The last two summers I have traveled to France in search of the mysteries of the Knights Templar and Alchemy, only to find the history of Mary Magdalene and how she brought the knowledge of essential oils to France.

The mysteries I searched for are centered around a little village called Rennes-le-Chateau. Here, the French believe, Mary Magdalene came after the death of Christ. And because of her influence, a whole order of fighting men, known as the Knights Templar, were created.

Wherever Mary traveled in France, she taught the skill of healing with oils. Few people realize the wisdom that the Magdalene presented to the world in the development of the use of essential oils. She was the mystical woman that anointed Jesus' feet. This demonstrates her skill in the use of essential oils.

Biblical references to Mary Magdalene include information that she was one of the women who accompanied Jesus after he healed her of possession by several demons (Luke 8:2, and Mark 16:9). She is also reported to have been one of the women at the foot of the cross (Mark 15:40, Matthew 27:56 and John 19:25), and one of the women to arrive at the tomb at first light on Easter morning (Mark 16:1, Matthew 28:1, Luke 24:10, John 20:1-3).

The gospel of John says that she came alone to the tomb and encountered Jesus, at first believing him to be the gardener. She even reached out and embraced him when she recognized him, calling him "Rabboni," an affectionate form of the word Rabbi. Obviously this Mary, called "the Magdalene," was an intimate friend and companion of Jesus.

After the crucifixion of Jesus, Mary Magdalene moved to France and lived for several years. Her offspring became the kings of France, known as the Merovingian line. French history states that she was the sister of Lazarus, who sat at the feet of Jesus, absorbing his teachings (Luke 10:28-42), and who later anointed his feet with nard (spikenard, an essential oil) and dried them with her hair (John 11:2 and 12:3).

Part of the mystery about Rennes-le-Chateau is centered on the offspring of the Magdalene. The last French king in the Merovingian line was Dagobert II. He and his son Sigebert were supposedly killed.

However, the young Sigebert was smuggled into Rennes-le-Chateau by his mother, and there, the whole mystery of the Templars was created to prove the birth rites of the lineage of the Magdalene. Because of this wisdom, alchemy in France became a reality. The Merovingians knew the mysteries that Jesus taught.

Around 1090, nine priests went to Jerusalem and searched around the temple of Solomon for proof of this lineage, and for a better understanding of the development of alchemy.

Out of this search came the birth of the Templars. What they discovered while in Jerusalem is the true wisdom of alchemy. They found the instruments know as the Holy Grail. They learned how to use these instruments to change mind over matter (alchemy).

The true Templar's mission was to change gross man into a light being. Their mission was to guard the roads to Jerusalem. Jerusalem meaning, 'New Salem,' the birthplace of the order of Malchezidek. Malchezidek was Abraham's teacher. He is mentioned in the first chapters of the Bible.

The Malchezidek order teaches humanity how to activate our higher chakras.

Part II next post.

Part II

The Magdalene, Knights Templar and Alchemy
by Rev. Mary Hardy, Ph.D.

"The Magdalene was an advanced healer and a highly respected member of the twelfth tribe of Israel, the Tribe of Benjamin. In France, I learned that the amygdala gland is probably named after the Magdalene. Mary Magdalene realized the importance of smell and the development of healing through the limbic system. It is through this system that one can activate the higher chakras.

It is the Magdalene's gift that while using these frequencies of the brain, one can enter into a state of mind over matter.

The very fact that the Templars developed alchemy may have come from the wisdom that is based in the oils.

When you enter the amygdala gland, you change the frequency in the brain and alter the physical reality. It is at this level of consciousness that one can become a true alchemist and change water into wine.

The very fact that Mary Magdalene was a member of the twelfth tribe tells us that she was conscious of this higher wisdom. Originally, humanity had twelve chakras. I believe that the twelve tribes represent the twelve chakras. The Magdalene then, would have had knowledge of beginning alchemy.

The important factor here is that when you enter the amygdala gland and the limbic system to activate the higher chakras, it is my experience that the Magdalene comes and teaches her special healing wisdom. This is the wisdom of changing the very structure of the RNA/DNA, so that one can work with particles of light and become an alchemist.

This is the wisdom and the knowledge that Mary gave us through the oils. At this level of consciousness, there is no time and space. One becomes one with Christ.

My search for the Magdalene, Knights Templar and Alchemy have come full circle. The story is there. One doesn't need the history, one only has to believe in the gift of the Magdalene-the use of essential oils to develop higher consciousness.

USING AROMATHERAPY TO ACTIVATE HIGHER CONSCIOUSNESS
Marie Allizon & Dr. Stewart Gillespie

"Aromatherapy was used for balancing the auric field with the physical. Only those trained in the temples were taught to use this wisdom of using the sense of smell to activate higher consciousness to develop the soul. The Brothers and Sisters of the Emerald Fire were the men and women trained in these temples.

The reference to Emerald Fire points to the teaching of keeping the balance point of emerald green between the infrared and ultraviolet frequencies within the auric field. Emerald green represents the heart chakra and is also the electromagnetic frequency of love.

The Sisterhood of the Emerald Fire performed healings with essential oils, i..e. aromatic essences. Mary Magdalene was a student of these schools.

Why does smell provoke such a powerful emotional response?

Out of all the senses, smell is unique. Anatomically, the olfactory nerve, the sensory nerve for smell is the only nerve that enters the brain without going through the thalamus, which is the logic center of the brain. Thus, smell is considered an instinctive reflex as opposed to a multi-modal sense. For this, it is known as a primitive sense, linking us more closely to animals than to our supposed more intelligent human species.

20158

The olfactory nerve sends signals to the limbic system, our memory consolidation and emotion center of the brain, and particularly to the amygdala. If you are functioning through the posterior of the amygdala, your focus is on the traumas of life --“Childhood trauma” would be beneficial to remove them--.

The anterior portion is considered the gateway into the frontal lobes of the brain and allows you to tap into universal consciousness. The signals from the olfactory nerve stimulate the anterior portion of the amygdala to facilitate access to this gateway.

When you enter the amygdala gland and the limbic system to activate the higher chakras, there is no time and space."

I've been burning oils for years and have literally spent into the thousands. Oils can be expensive...especially if buying them from places such as The Body Shop or the like (though TBS does have good oils). I tried a few different online sources and was most happy with Save On Scents for their selection, shipping times (from USA to Canada), and prices. Been a member there for the last 5 years. I especially like the reviews that previous buyers have left for any given scent.

Hope this helps...

AND this:

It was only in 1989, that scientist discovered the amygdala gland plays a major role in storing and releasing emotional trauma and therefore called the "seat of our emotions." The amygdala gland is the gatekeeper through which all sensory data to the brain are processed.

The sensory data first goes to the amygdala gland where it is determined if this data needs to be sent to the adrenal glands first, for fight or flight, or on to the brain for further processing. It essentially processes knowledge about stimuli and situations that are of special importance to our survival.

The amygdala is programmed to react without benefit of input from the thinking part of the brain. So, when we experience a traumatic situation, fear or any other unpleasant circumstances this is recorded in the amygdala first and then sent to rest of the body (i.e. adrenal glands or thinking brain) to be processed.

Studies at New York Medical University proved this gland does not respond to sight, sound or touch but does respond through the sense of smell. Through our scents we now have a way to release stored emotional trauma in the amygdala gland and the rest of our body.

With essential oils we can access those unpleasant memories in the amygdala gland and chose to process the unpleasant memories in a more productive way. We are not deleting or erasing the memories but channeling the energy and outcome into a different path and better outcome.

I personally refuse to buy any essential oils from any multi-level-marketing "organisation". Period. It's all a freaking scam and they are all ridiculously overpriced to make room for the 15 levels of payment. Plus the whole thing of allegedly making oils strong to the ultimate level... Not necessarily a good thing. Ridiculously potent things can be difficult to use.

In many, many places there are local suppliers.

Something else most people don't realise is that in the process of extracting the essential oils, all the impurities are extracted as well, so it doesn't really matter if they are organic or not.

The exception would be oils made cold pressed (including citrus), which I only buy organic.

It's great to see people discussing them. Something that is a lot of fun is to make your own bath salts. You can buy sea salt relatively cheaply in large quantities. Then you can mix different oils and drops and such to get them to your liking.

My favourite bath mix is ginger, lemon, clary sage (which really gets your energy flowing), geranium and lavender. Smells awesome.

Something else is to bear in mind some oils can actually burn.

A while ago I found this all-purpose healing salve recipe. It includes a basic base of coconut oil, olive oil and beeswax. (As a matter of fact, I leave the beeswax out. It's more oily then. In a warm climate the beeswax is more necessary)

You can then add essential oils depending on what you are trying to achieve.
The all purpose healing salve includes lavender, lemon and tea tree oil.

The base of the salve is organic cold pressed coconut oil and olive oil. Coconut oil is a natural moisturizer as well as antibacterial.
Olive oil has lots of anti-oxidants, including Hydroxytyrosol and other anti-inflammatory properties.

****

The Basic Ingredients ~
One recipe will fill four 4 oz glass jam jars.

1 Cup Coconut Oil
1 Cup Olive Oil
4 T. Beeswax Pastilles

Slowly melt the coconut, olive oil and beeswax in a warm bath, stirring with a knife every few minutes until melted.
While waiting for the melt, line up four 4 oz jam jars with your essential oils nearby.

Decide which blends you want to create and add the essential oils to each jar before filling.

Now you're ready to fill each jar with the melted coconut and olive oil stopping a half inch from the rim.
Let cool until the salve hardens. Top with a paper towel while cooling. Secure lid tightly after the salve hardens.

****

- With a blend of Frankincense, Lavender and Cypress, your face and body are certain to benefit from their regenerative properties as well as the extra moisturizing properties of coconut and olive oil.
Add 10 drops each to one 4 oz jar.

- Lemon, Lavender and Peppermint, are all natural anti-histamine with far reaching benefits. Especially beneficial for allergies that manifest themselves through skin outbreaks or chronic itching.
Add 10 drops each to one 4 oz jar.

Other than that page marketing doterra, that is awesome. doterra is the most overpriced, overhyped, unethical of all the MLMs in my opinion.

On a side note, based on some stuff I had read on this, the other day I put some 5 drops of lavender and 2 drops of helichrysum (this was an accident, was trying to get 1 drop) in a diffuser, and all I can say is holy moly.

My husband said he felt hyper aggressive all of the sudden. Then we both felt incredibly dizzy. Then I spent the rest of the day having random emotional releases. Just really brief stints of seriously crying, but it felt great. Not for any particular reason. Just sorta randomly welled up. Strange, but excellent. Have repeated it with one drop since then. Very, very interesting.

I just wanted to mention here that essential oils can cause an asthmatic attack on people who are sensitive and I think it would be good for all oil practitioners to be aware of this and ask your clients about their sensitivities to chemicals in general and to essential oils too. They may be sensitive to one or two oils and find with the rest. Some oils may be an unknown factor for them.

After working in a hospice faciltiy for some time that used some chemical mix to clean their carpet I developed bronchial asthma from developing a sensitivity to the chemicals. This is typically called reactive airway disease.

Sometime after that the facility put an essential oil difusers into each wing of the facility using common oils such as lemon and lavendar. I believe they were using Young living oils at the time. As soon as they would turn them on Id have to go around and turn them off so I could continue breathing. Since then I found out that there are significant numbers of people who will react to these airborne diffusions of oils. What I have found out is that the brand makes no difference.

So please dont assume that because it is natural or organic that it is safe to expose all people to them.

Oils are difused into a room generally for a specific intent, if the person setting it up has any clue as to what they are doing with oils. I consider this mass medication without permission or concent from the people who would be exposed and affected... not to different in concept than a government putting flouride in drinking water because they believe that it is good for you and that they have the right to do things "good" for you.... please understand I am not trying to make a comparison of flouride to oils.. only in one's right to be medicated or not.

In my opinion all medication should be voluntary, with knowledge and by permission, even natural and organic things.

Essential oils are not good for me in this application and just like junk perfume can set some asthamtics off, so does essential oils. Im sure no one wants to be responsible for causing a life threatening incident. Although my reaction was not necessarily life threatening it could make my day very uncomfortable and it forced me to carry a "drug" type inhaler around for fear that someday it would get really bad.

I did have one family memeber of a patient come into the faciltiy when the difusers were on and she went into a massive asthmaic attack from it. I had considered calling an ambulance for her but eventually her asthamatic inhalers brought her breathing back under control. It had really freaked me out and our facilty had no life saving equipement available... it was a hospice after all.

Since I no longer work in that facility and I have been able to eliminate all of those kinds of chemicals from my life I have little problems anymore but still some essential oils can get me going and I notice it. I encounter them more often thatn chemicals actually, these days. Fortunatly I have found a way to control the problem with a homeoapthic remedy.

What do you look for when choosing a local supplier?

Essential Oil FAQs (http://www.gritman.com/FAQs/) This is a good spot to learn more to be able to recognise someone who is knowledgeable about essential oils.

I would ask them how they make the oils with genuine curiosity and interest in their business. I would also look for prices to be 60% to 90% cheaper than the MLM prices.

There is one supplier here (a husband and wife team) who collect everything themselves from the woods, and do their own distillation. They really love what they do, and are incredibly knowledgeable. That's really what I look for. In my opinion, I would way rather buy an oil distilled with love than greed any day of the week.

I just wanted to speak to this... Arrowwind, I am not necessarily saying this is the case for either you or your friend...

I used to have a really severe reaction to lavender. I discovered then when a yoga instructor put a lavender scented washcloth on our eyes at the end of class and I felt like I couldn't breathe and my heart was pounding out of my chest. I actually started wheezing, all the while trying to tell her I was all right and trying to figure out what was going on. Every week I went back for a while and could not understand this reaction. It was like a combination between an asthma attack and a panic attack, not that I have asthma, because I don't.

It finally came to me... No wonder I was reacting like this... My mother loved the smell of lavender and I smelled it when she was beating me with a belt buckle on more than one occasion. My body was going into a reaction like I was about to be beaten again even though I was laying on a mat in yoga class with people who certainly didn't appear aggressive in any way.

As soon as I made the connection, it was like something snapped, and lavender has never bothered me since and I love the smell and benefits of it.

It's just a possibility that sometimes people might think they are allergic to something and it could actually be a behavioural reaction rather than a physically induced one. Again, not necessarily saying this is true in your situation. :)

Essential oils are powerful substances and need respect... and yes, some people have a strong association with the smell of things and link past events to them. Regardless of how it comes about we need to be cautious.
I never had a problem with oils till I had repeated exposure to carpet chemicals.

I have always considered essential oils as being sacred, mostly because I know how much plant life it takes to make just one drop of it. I choose to buy organic, when I can, since it has to do with how the plant was grown and the respect given to Mother Earth.

I am currently experimenting with essential oils I have never worked with. At this point, I am attracted to the old oils. I will be using one oil at a time, for a few weeks, so that I get the feel of it.

I know that essential oils will become an imporant part of my work, but I would never use without the consent and knowledge of the person. Many people are sensitive to different scents these days. So much crap in the air we breathe. It is a must to verify with a person first before using in their presence.

Happyexpat, I see you are from Les Laurentides (my sister lives there). Have you heard of Aliksir ? That's where I bought my oils. I would be interested to know where you get your oils from (if not from them) since I tend to buy the closest to home that I can. Thank you.

Salut belle amie !

I totally understand wanting to buy organic. I just don't want people to be financially put off if they can't afford organic. In my experience, orange, lemon & lime oils are pretty inexpensive anyhow when they are organic, but those are really the main ones I wouldn't touch if they weren't.

I have bought oils from so many places... I bought so many of them, though, I have ordered very little in recent history. I have not bought Aliksir, but I am familiar with them, and would feel comfortable ordering from them.

Vintsini (http://www.vintsini.ca/) has some incredibly awesome oils. A lot closer than Aliksir, but only a specific selection of oils. Vintsini is a really lovely couple. They also make their own diffuser themselves. They had one type of oil, which I'm sure I have in my notes somewhere was specifically for clearing out energy and odors in a room or car. Just holding the bottle felt good. Really lovely stuff, so if the specific oils they make are types you would use, I would definitely recommend ordering from them.

Here's the recipe for that rub on the link, so you don't have to find the link to click through and find it.

Homemade 'Vicks Vapor Rub'

Ingredients

1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 teaspoons beeswax
25-30 drops of eucalyptus essential oil
20-25 drops rosemary essential oil
10-15 drops lavender essential oil

Instructions

Melt the olive oil & beeswax in a small saucepan on low heat until melted, stirring with a wooden spoon. Turn off the heat & stir in the essential oils - drop by drop (keep stirring until all have been added). Pour into a small glass or metal container. Store in a cool, dry place for up to a year.

Another recipe from the same page (not my recipe, quoted and edited for typos and suggestions added):

Homemade neosporin

Another great thing – it’s not hard to make at all. Here, let me show you. This is what you need:

1/2 cup coconut oil (proven to help heal burns - plus it’s anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, & a great moisturizer – read more here)
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil (full of vitamins & a great moisturizer – read more here)
1/4 cup dried comfrey (a herb for healing wounds)
1/4 cup dried calendula (a herb for healing wounds & skin irritations)
2oz beeswax (equals out to 2 of the 1oz bars or 4 tablespoons)
2 tablespoons of [raw] honey (natural moisturizer with anti-microbial properties)
10 drops lavender essential oil (anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, & analgesic)

All of these ingredients work together to create a really powerful healing salve.

In a medium saucepan – combine the coconut oil, olive oil, comfrey, & calendula. Cook on medium heat for about 20-30 minutes, stirring often. You can also for-go the cooking method to get more ‘healing zip’ from the herbs by soaking the herbs in the olive oil for 4-6 weeks. Then you would follow the rest of the recipe accordingly, with the exception of adding the coconut oil to the mixture before adding in the beeswax. But, I personally like the ‘short-cut’ method.

Strain the mixture using a cheesecloth or coffee filter.

Toss the herbs & wipe out any remaining herbs from your saucepan. Add the strained oil back to your pot, turn the heat to low. Stir in the honey at this point until mixed thoroughly. Some people don’t realize the benefits honey has to your skin, but it’s a natural moisturizer with anti-microbial properties. Note, having the honey mix in evenly can be somewhat tedious, so you can opt to omit it if you wish.

Next is to add the beeswax. If you’re using bars, cut into slices before adding as I did. Stir until completely melted.

Stir in the essential oil, if using, at this point. Once combined, remove from the heat.

You’ll want to work quickly now as the salve starts to set up rather fast. Pour into the glass or tin container(s) of your choice. I like to use wide mouth 8oz mason jars.

Stir it occasionally while it cools to ensure that everything settles properly, especially the honey.

Once it sets up, you’re all done. Each batch makes 16 ounces.

Seal it up & keep it on hand for your boo-boos, diaper rash, & dry skin. It keeps for a year.

There are two ways of accessing the glia brain. Through smell, and through pulsing the feet with the proper oils. The bottom of the foot contains a map to every organ in the body. You can access any organ or damaged cell by using the proper oil that corresponds to the meridian line at the bottom of the foot.

If you pulse the correct oil into the bottom of the foot, you can access the physical body, the emotional body and the mental body. Many of our disease states and emotional problems can be addressed by using the proper oil, either through smell or pulsing the bottom of the foot."

Alchemy of the Oils and the Glia Brain
Rev. Mary Hardy, Ph.D.

"Many people are not aware of the Glia brain. It is the organ in the body that allows the frequency of the oils to move through the body in seconds. It also allows the body to read the alchemical function in the body. The secret of alchemy is to change the energy, you change the mass. The glia brain is essentially a multi-dimensional antenna system that feeds every cell in the body.

The secret of healing the body through frequency is allowing the body to go back to its original state, before the neuron brain realizes it has been injured.

As mentioned earlier, there are 2 ways of accessing the glia brain: by smell and through pulsing of the feet.

The first technique Gary Young tried to teach was to pulse the feet by placing 5 drops of oil on each foot and holding the left hand to left foot and right hand to right foot and hold the feet until you get an even pulse. Foot reflexology shows that there is a map on the bottom of the foot and by holding the oil on certain areas of the foot you can access the corresponding points in the body.

The second way of accessing the glia brain is through smell, thus activating the limbic system. The olfactory bulbs (located in the nose) have little hairs that act as antennas that are tied into the entire neuroelectric field of the body. Candace Pert has changed the whole field of medicine by discovering a class of tiny proteins known as peptides—including the opiates and serotonin—which were found to regulate our behavior, mood, and health. Our bodies are studded with peptide receptors. For Pert, this means consciousness operates at a cellular level, involving the mating dance of each receptor and the particular peptide that binds to it. Or, as she puts it, “Your subconscious mind is really your body.

Peptides are the biochemical correlate of emotion.” Pert has changed the whole face of medicine by discovering the action of the peptides but yet the medical field hasn’t recognized that this action takes place in the largest organ in the body, the glia brain. The olfactory bulbs also connect with the limbic system which is connected to the amygdale gland. This has 2 parts- the posterior which ties into emotional side so that you can access all your pain or negative emotions and the anterior forces everything into the frontal lobes which access time, space and medicine so that the glia brain can be used to go into higher realms of consciousness.

The 5th sense of the body, smell, can’t be understood completely until you understand its value through aromatherapy and the glia brain. This makes up the antenna that will help mankind ascend into a higher frequency and take one out of the neruo-consciousness of the 3rd dimension.

While a fetus is swimming around in the mother’s body, it is feeding on essential fatty acids and can access different dimensions of time, space and energy. I believe the 4th dimension deals with forgiveness. The control panel for the glia brain is the heart. If one is to go inter-dimensionally they must access consciousness through the heart. Science has not studied the glia brain enough to understand how one can access consciousness. The heart and limbic system is accessed through the frontal lobes which are connected to the amygdale gland and olfactory nerves.
