View Full Version : Mainstream Media Discussion - Information is Power

How do we change the modus operandi of our current Media/News system?

It is financially based and motivated, much like all other things in our society. This ultimately means that accurate information costs money, so only the rich and powerful have access to accurate information.

Watching Main Street Media (MSM) does not supply us with the quality of information that would lead to a well informed populous. It is practically all scripted entertainment.

Local news is not much better, as they have adopted business practices of the larger news organizations.

We are only sheep because we are ignorant. How do we change this to be better informed citizens?

Should we utilize government regulations?
Should we subsidize all news and take sponsors out of the equation?
Should we wait until there is a moral uprising by the population?

I'm game for ideas. This, to me, is the discussion we should be having above all others......

I want to come up with a discernible plan to fix this and push it out to the public. There are probably people a lot smarter than me that have already done the legwork, but I can't find them. If we could come up with a legitimate document outlining steps to take and make it public, we could possibly make a difference.

Since there is so much scrutiny over the media's handling of recent events of Sandy Hook, etc. etc., it could be a good time to push a grass roots plan that required higher quality news information.

There is a huge segment of our population out there who only get their news from local or national MSM. These are mostly voters who get swayed by the scripted emotional propaganda.

For those that want alternative news sources:

How do you get this independent news out to older people, with not alternative news source?

How do you verify this independent news is any more accurate than MSM?

Unfortunately, I have a lot more questions than answers!

I will share my view on MSM news. It is all controlled, scripted and not meant to inform. It is there to program minds and create a world view that helps the elite do what they want. The one thing we can all do immediately is stop watching/consuming it. The real world is the one we react too and live in. Want the news? Go outside. Don't react to anything that someone read or heard from the media. They're coming to take our guns? Are they on your street taking peoples guns? Then they are not taking guns that matter to you.

This problem is huge and deep. For some the only cure will be dying. Natural causes, of course.

This is what I perceive. It is a view shared by few. Many will agree with me and still form their world view from sources other than their own senses. I go to Rense and see many lurid and fear based article titles. Even not reading them puts them into my purview. If something begins to creep into me, I take inventory of the situation around me. I am warm, well fed and have my bills paid. I can only live in the now and so far my "nows" are very good. Any downsides have been my own foolishness and emotional nonsense. The news did not cause them and it can not fix them.

I am sure others will be more helpful than me on this subject.

What I "think": it all comes down to exchange of energy... energy in the form of $$. Follow the $$ is a very apt tool and state of affairs.

Why?

Sponsors!

Who sponsors networks?

The most obvious are... "Big Pharma!" How many adds for flu or cold remedies, cardiac peventions, cancer research, dental or personal hygiene, vaccinations, etc... one has to suffer through to watch that damn movie?

When a network doesn't follow the sponsors' party line, bye bye bread and butter!

That's where any network can be hit by consumers objecting.

How does one get consumers to object?

One needs to managed to convinced 'em consumers it's all poison!

How does one do that? Back to $$ and sponsors who can afford it... and the pincers are squeezing even tighter.

It's now or never because the whole society infrastructures are geared toward sponsored ignorance and dumbing down of the individual via shools, food, vaccinations, prescribed medications, etc...

It's all lethal poison! Make it known far and wide, it's starting to make a few dents with consumers rejecting GMOs.

Has anyone here seen or heard of Free Speech TV? It is a non-profit network that doesn't air commercials and is largely funded by viewer donations (as well as a few charitable foundations). I've seen some good programming on there from time to time, despite my general avoidance of televised news.

I think it is a matter of chipping away at the problem, little by little. There is no quick fix to such a vast issue, so be wary of people who offer one. As the younger, more open and wise generations become fruitful and engaged in society, then things will change. I feel it necessary to let old ways literally die out with those who support and peruse them.

Think back 50 years, where most 1st world countries were still segregating blacks and denying women basic rights. So today the MSM is hyping up the war on drugs and marriage equality, and these too will fade out of interest, so that when future generations look back at today, these issues will seem obscure and irrelevant to the present.

I hate to say "the children are our future", because it could be seen as disempowering to older people, but there is truth in it. There will be those children born into families of noted wealth or reputation who will be expected to keep standards and ideals up. Bit over time these negative hand-me-downs lose steam. This is evident in many cases (nazi's, KKK etc.). We are born innocent and without judgement; these traits are picked up early in life.

Lead by example, cherish your childrens innocence and the coming world will reflect your actions. If all the measures of control we are under remain in years to come, at least they will be identifiable for what they really are by the coming generations and our invisible prison will fall.
