How do we change the modus operandi of our current Media/News system?
It is financially based and motivated, much like all other things in our society. This ultimately means that accurate information costs money, so only the rich and powerful have access to accurate information.
Watching Main Street Media (MSM) does not supply us with the quality of information that would lead to a well informed populous. It is practically all scripted entertainment.
Local news is not much better, as they have adopted business practices of the larger news organizations.
We are only sheep because we are ignorant. How do we change this to be better informed citizens?
Should we utilize government regulations?
Should we subsidize all news and take sponsors out of the equation?
Should we wait until there is a moral uprising by the population?
I'm game for ideas. This, to me, is the discussion we should be having above all others......
I want to come up with a discernible plan to fix this and push it out to the public. There are probably people a lot smarter than me that have already done the legwork, but I can't find them. If we could come up with a legitimate document outlining steps to take and make it public, we could possibly make a difference.
Since there is so much scrutiny over the media's handling of recent events of Sandy Hook, etc. etc., it could be a good time to push a grass roots plan that required higher quality news information.
There is a huge segment of our population out there who only get their news from local or national MSM. These are mostly voters who get swayed by the scripted emotional propaganda.
For those that want alternative news sources:
How do you get this independent news out to older people, with not alternative news source?
How do you verify this independent news is any more accurate than MSM?
Unfortunately, I have a lot more questions than answers!
