Cool story, Jason!
If that happened to me, I'd open to the book and point. There's usually an answer/messages for me.

Hi Jason, Your paranormal event with the book falling off a shelf prompted me to write about mine. I too have had two similar experiences. The first one happened several months (maybe a year) ago and my wife and sister witnessed it. They said that a medium sized book flew off the shelf and landed several feet from the book shelf in the middle of a doorway. They said the book just came straight out several feet and then fell to the floor. The second one happened a couple of weeks ago. My wife and I had just come into the living room when we heard a loud bang. It sounded like one of the bedroom doors had been slammed shut, but it kind of freaked us out since all the bedroom doors were already shut. I thought maybe my daughter had come home and slammed her bedroom door. So we investigated, but no one was there and the doors were still all shut. When we came back into the living room a book had fallen off the same shelf and was laying on the floor. The book wasn't on the floor before we investigated what caused the loud bang (i.e., it had fallen while we were down the hall and neither of us heard it hit the floor). I put the book back on the shelf and asked my wife to slam each bedroom door to see if, perhaps, we were mistaken and it was the door slamming that knocked the book off the shelf. None of the books moved at all. It was not the door slam that caused the book to fall.

What was the book ceetee?
yes, the book should have been opened, if it was not open on the floor.
And read, right from the first words noticed.

WhitecrowblackDeer and I think exactly alike. It is so funny how many typical sociotal beliefs revolve around a need to have a burning bush or voice of God to "believe" when things like this happen, most of the time people overlook and miss great messages.
ANyway, I would find that book and revisit the message.

What was the book ceetee?I was afraid someone might ask this question. I'm not 100% sure, but I think one was "Secrets of Antigravity Propulsion" by Dr. Paul LaViolette or "The Hidden Reality: Parallel Universes and the Deep Laws of the Cosmos" by Brian Greene and I'm nearly 100% sure the other one was "Aware of Their Presence" by Craig Jacocks--this was the book that flew off the shelf.
I did not know that you should open the book and read the first words you see. I'll have to try that if and when it happens again.
***UPDATE***
When I went home last night I checked the books I mentioned above and the ones that fell/flew off the shelf were definitely "Aware of Their Presence" and "The Hidden Reality..."--for those who are interested.

The book in my event was called "1001 Fascinating Facts". I wish I had examined the book but at that time I was a skeptic and I was freaked out.

I haven't read any of those, but judging by the titles it seems like the message was pretty on-the-nose. :p

From the Bodhi Tree bookstore, I learned this experience was so common for seekers that it is called the library angel experience.

thanks for your courage... we need the unusual out in the open as normal , it's the only way to get to the bottom of the un-explained ...

You sound great on the phone (I went for a job as a Radio DJ & I was told my voice was so bad,I could only call in to the station as everyone sounds better on the phone). I now have "Book envy" as nothing like this has happened to me...LOL
